"Are we there yet?" I hear Turtlepaw meow.

Turtlepaw and her littermate, Beepaw, where made apprentices 2 moons ago. I was only just made an apprentice 3 days ago.

"No dear. Not yet." Willowfall, her mother, meows.

"Echostar, I think it's best we take a break. Everyone's tired and hungry. Maybe the mentors can even train the apprentices a bit." Turtlepaw's mentor, Smoothdapple, meows.

"Yes. I agree. I'd like to finish training Molttedpaw before I get any older. My old bones won't last forever." Finchpelt meows.

"I agree with them Echostar. I can arrange some hunting patrols if you like." The deputy, Owltuft meows.

"Alright Owltuft. I will have to agree with you. We have been traveling sense dawn and it's sun-high. Arrange three hunting patrols please." Echostar meows, sitting down to groom her fur.

Owltuft sniffs. "Twilightpelt, I want you to take Pantherpaw, Nutleap, and Wingheart with you. Go to the forest on our right. Sprucefur, I want you to lead the next one. You will go to the forest on my left. Take Lilysong and Rainflower. I want Finchpelt to lead the last patrol. Take Molttedpaw, Jumpingwhisker, and Beepaw. You guys can go toward the direction we just came from. Make sure you don't go to far though. We don't need ya'll getting lost."

"And try not to tred on any sticks or anything else. I'd like to save up our herbs for when we make it to the lake. But of course I will treat your wounds if you get hurt." Littlelight meows.

"Of course you would treat us. I bet your the nicest medicine cat ever!" I meow.

"I don't know about that, Pantherpaw. There might be a medicine cat even nicer!" Littlelight meows.

"Come on Pantherpaw! We gotta go!" Twilightpelt, my mentor, meows.

"Coming! Bye Littlelight!" I meow. I ran over to catch up to the others. We walk to the forest and start to hunt.

"We will split up and meet back here. Don't go to far from here. We don't want anyone to get lost." Twilightpelt meows.

Everyone nods in reply and goes a different direction. Twilightpelt tells me to go with her so I do.

"I want to see how your hunting and stalking are going." She meows.

"Okay." I meow back. I crouch down into the hunting crouch and stalk foward. I quickly spot a wood pigeon high up in a tree. I look towards Twilightpelt and point my tail at it.

"I will get that." She meows.

"No." I meow. I quickly stalk towards the tree, and I get ready to pounce. I quickly pounce all the way to the top in one go, grabbing the wood pigeon between my claws and land on my paws on the ground. I swiftly bite the wood pigeons neck.

"Wow! Even I can't jump that high. It would take me at least three jumps." Twilightpelt praises me. "Bury it here." She points her tail at a spot below the tree.

I bury the wood pigeon below the tree. Twilightpelt quickly finds a mouse nibbling close by and catches it. She buries the mouse with the wood pigeon.

"Come on. Lets go find some more prey." She meows.

We walk a little way away untill I find a magpie on the ground searching for worms. I stalk towards it but far enough so that it doesn't see me. I look over and see Twilightpelt about to step on a twig. I try to warn her but it's to late. CRACK! The twig breaks and the magpie starts to fly away. I quickly jump up into the air and manage to grab the magpie before it got to high. I bite it's neck and kill it.

"Good job! Sorry. I didn't see the twig. I'm not this used to very dense forests. Our old home had a forest around it but there weren't so many twigs scattered around." Twilightpelt meows.

"Lets go get our other catches and meet up with the others. I'm sure they are already waiting for us." I meow. Walking to where we had buried the wood pigeon and mouse. I grab my wood pigeon along with my magpie. Twilightpelt takes her mouse and we walk to meet the others.

When we get there, everyone is waiting for us. Nutleap had caught a vole and a shrew while Wingheart had caught a thrush and a plump mouse.

"Now that I think about it. I don't think Owltuft should have sent out 3 patrols. Two would have most likely been enough." Nutleap meows. "I'm sure the others caught alot too."

"Alright. Lets head back to everyone else. We don't want to worry them." Twilightpelt meows.

"I agree. You know how Echostar can get when a patrol doesn't get back when the others are." Wingheart meows.

We start to walk back to the rest of the Clan. When we get there, the other patrols are just getting back. Sprucefur's patrol had quite a bit of food while Finchpelt's patrol only had two rabits and 1 starling.

"Good job everyone. It looks like everyone will be well feed today." Echostar meows. "We will rest here for a while while the apprentices will be training."

I drop my catch in front of my parents, Lilysong and Owltuft.

"Here. These are for you guys." I meow.

"That's nice of you dear. Did you catch these?" Lilysong meows.

"Yes, I did." I meow back, licking my chest in embarrassment.

"Do you want to tell us how?" Owltuft meows, pulling the wood pigeon closer. "This one first."

"Okay. That was the first one I caugth. It was very high up in a tree. I jumped all the way to it, grabbed it in my claws and landed back on the ground. Then I bite its neck to give it a killing bite." I meow.

"Wow. It's very good too. How about you tell us about the magpie." Owltuft meows.

"Well, it was on the ground looking for worms. I was stalking it when Twilightpelt accidentally stepped on a twig and scared the magpie away. I quickly jumped up and caught it before it could get to far away." I meow, licking my chest again in embarrassment.

"Wow. That's sounds like fun. I wish I had seen you do that jump!" Lilysong meows. I can see the pride in her and Owltuft's eyes.

"It does indeed." Echostar's sudden voice makes me jump. "How about you show us your jump. We heard your story." She flicks her tail toward the Clan.

"Um Okay. Do you want me to do the same jump I did trying to catch the wood pigeon?" I meow nervously.

"Yes. Do show them. It was amazing." Twilightpelt meows.

I crouch down into the hunters crouch and stalk foward. I imagine the hugh tree the wood pigeon was in and jump upward. I swipe my paws around the imaginary bird, and fall back down to my paws.

"That was amazing!! I want to learn to do that!!" Volepaw meows, jumping into the air, a tail lenght above the ground.

"Me too!!" Turtlepaw meows, also jumping upward, a little higher than Volepaw.

"Alright you silly apprentices, it's time to do some battle training." Finchpelt meows. "I'm not getting any younger."

"Yay!! Battle training!!" Molttedpaw meows.

Icefall leads the other apprentices and I to the far side of the group.

"Today, we are going to learn the drop and roll. The drop and roll is a counterattack to the next move we are going to learn. I am going to demonstrate this move now." Icefall meows. Jumpingwhisker walks over to her and jumps up onto Icefall's back. Icefall drops onto her belly and roles onto her side dislodging Jumpingwhisker from her shoulders.

"Alright everyone. Pantherpaw and Turtlepaw will work together. Beepaw and Volepaw. Molttedpaw and Ferretpaw." Icefall meows.

Turtlepaw comes over to me and leaps onto my back. I quickly drop onto my belly and role onto my side. Turtlepaw falls off my shoulders. I quicklt stand up.

"Okay! Your turn!" Turtlepaw meows.

I quickly jump onto Turtlepaw's back and I feel her drop below me. I feel her role onto her side and I fall off of the shoudlers. I hop up onto my paws.

"Twilightpelt. Doesn't this move expose out belly to our opponent?" I ask.

"Well, it does but that is why you have to get up very quickly." Twilightpelt meows.

"Okay now that everyone is done doing that move lets learn a new one. This one is called the duck and twist. This move is a simple defensive move to get away from most frontal attacks or pounces and leaps. Now I will demonstrate the move." Icefall meows. Jumpingwhisker stands in front of her and swings out his paw at her. Icefall twists around, rolling onto her back, and then springs to her paws. "Okay. Get into the same groups and try the move on each other."

Turtlepaw faces me and quickly swipes out her front paw. I twist around, rolling onto my back, and quickly spring up. I sprung up so quickly that I went really high and come landing on top of someone.

"OW!" I hear a voice meow. I quickly notice the voice is Finchpelt.

"Oh StarClan! I am SO sorry!!" I meow, quickly getting off of Finchpelt. I help him to his paws.

"It's fine. I'm okay. Nothing is broken. I just have some old bones." Finchpelt meows, giving a little laugh.

"Oh thank StarClan. I thought I hurt you." I meow.

"No no. I'm fine. Just gave me a little fright. I thought you where hurt." Finchpelt meows. "Owltuft would kill me if I let you get hurt."

"I don't think I'm hurt." I meow, sniffing my pelt, checking for any injuries. "No. I'm good."

"Alright you two. We are going to do one more move them head back to the group and eat. This next move is called the front paw blow. This move is a frontal attack." Icefall meows. Jumpingwhisker stands in front of her. Icefall brings her paw down on to Jumpingwhisker's head, not hard. "In this move you will want you claws sheathed and to do the blow very hard. Go ahead and practice it."

Turtlepaw gets in front of me once again. I nod at her and she brings her front paw a little roughly down onto my head. She nods at me and I nod at her. I do the same as she did.

"Alright everyone. That's it for today. Lets go grab something to eat." Finchpelt meows. Everyone nodded and followed him to the prey that was left. I grabbed a rabbit and went to share it with Turtlepaw. We sat quietly at the edge of the group and ate. When we finsihed she started to share tounges. Turtlepaw licks my front right shoulder and a sharp pain goes through it. I quickly pull my leg away.

"I'm sorry! Did I hurt you?" Turtlepaw meows, sniffing at my shoudler.

"No, no. It probably just a bruse. I'll be fine." I meow

"Maybe you should show it to Littlelight. You were only just made an apprentice a few days ago." Turtlepaw meows, concern flashing in her eyes.

"No. I said I would be fine. I don't want to waste her herbs on something that can heal on its own." I meow back.

"Come on everyone! It's time to start traveling again!" Echostar meows, getting to her paws

Everyone gets up and starts to walk. I hear the elders starting to complain

"My old bones can't possibly last this long." I hear Swallowfall grunt as she starts to walk towards the middle of the group. "At least there are plenty of warriors to help."

"Yes. When we were warriors, we would offer right away when an elder started to limp for some reason." Finchnose meows.

We pass some trees and I see Echostar stop.

"Pantherpaw! There's a thrush in that tree. Go get it for the elders." Echostar meows, turning to look at me.

"Yes Echostar." I hurry over and stop a tail length from the tree. I crouch down and stalk toward it. When I get directly below the tree, a few branchs down from the thrush, I jump. The thrush flys away before I can get it and I hit my bruised shoulder on the branch. I fall to the ground and land on my shoudler. Sharp pains are throbbing from my shoudler.

"PANTHERPAW!" I hear Owltuft run over to me, and roles me over onto my other side. He sniffs at my shoudler and Lilysong joins him at his side.

"Is she okay?" I hear Lilysong's mew, fear scent coming from her.

"LITTLELIGHT! GET OVER HERE!" Owltuft howls.

Littlelight comes over to me and sniffs my shoudler. She places a gentle paw on it and a pain goes through me. I quickly jerk my shoulder away.

"It looks like she has a bruise and she my have dislocated her shoudler. SHIMMERDAWN! COME HERE!" Littlelight meows.

Shimmerdawn comes rushing over and places her paws on my stomach, holding me down.

"Lilysong, can you go get a sturdy stick, quickly please?" Littlelight meows to my mother.

"Of course." Lilysong quickly goes into the forest and comes back with a very thick stick. "Here"

"Thank you. Bite on this, Pantherpaw." Littlelight meows. I take the stick in my jaws and bite down. "This will hurt a little." Littlelight places a paw on my shoudler and grabs my leg in her jaws. She pulls really hard on my shoudler until she hears a pop. Sharp pains are sent through my body and I bite down as hard as I can on the stick. It starts to splinter in my jaws. Littlelight then let's go of my leg and takes her paw from my shoudler. Shimmerdawn takes her paws off of my stomach. I scramble to my paws and gingerly place my paw onto the ground. It doesn't hurt anymore.

"Thank you." I meow, looking at my paws. I look up when I hear Turtlepaw running over.

"Are you okay?!" She asks, sniffing my shoudler. "I saw you fall and I got scared, but Echostar wouldn't let anyone come over until Littlelight was done."

Echostar then comes over. "Are you okay Pantherpaw?"

"Yes. I am okay now. Sorry I missed the Thrush." I meow.

"It's fine. I'm just glad you are okay. Littlelight, can we continue our journey for the day or should we rest?" Echostar asks Littlelight.

"Pantherpaw should be fine to travel. We can continue for the day." Littlelight adds. "You did a great job Shimmerdawn. You knew exactly what you do. I'm proud of you."

"Thank you." Shimmerdawn meows, licking her chest in embarrassment.

Everyone runs over to where we are and keeps asking me how I am.

"Alright everyone! Pantherpaw is fine, now give her some space. We are going to continue our travel. Come on everyone!" Echostar meows.

Turtlepaw walks beside me while we are walking. We pass beautiful trees. I think they are called Willow Trees. We pass all the Willows and come to an open moor. There is a Twolegplace far away to our right. We pass the Twolegplace and for a while, there is nothing but moor. We pass up a few trees that we rested under but that was it. After a long day we come to a Thunderpath. The Thunderpath stretches for a long distance both ways.

"Alright everyone. We are going to pass over in groups of 6 instead of everyone at once. Twilightpelt, I want you to go over first. Take Pantherpaw, Smoothdapple, Turtlepaw, and Lilysong. I want Owltuft to lead the second group. You can take Littlelight, Willowfall, Nutleap, and Bounceclaw. Icefall, you can lead the next group. Take, Ferretpaw, Cherryear, Finchpelt, and Molttedpaw. The next group will have Wingheart leading it. I want you to take Sprucefur, Cloverleap, Lichenclaw, and Shimmerdawn. Strikepelt, you will lead the next group. I want Cypressclaw, Volepaw, Rainflower, and  Vinepelt. The rest of you will be in the last group with me." Echostar meows.

Twilightpelt nods and walks to the edge of the Thunderpath. I stand at her side with Turtlepaw on my other side. Smoothdapple and Lilysong stand on the other side of Twilightpelt. Twilightpelt nods and we start to run across the Thunderpath. Once we are half way across a monster comes out of nowhere, harring towards the group of cats in it's path. We make it to the other end of the Thunderpath when I realize Turtlepaw isn't with us. I look back at the Thunderpath and she her staring in horror as the monster got closer, and closer to her. I quickly run out onto the Thunderpath towards Turtlepaw. I grab her by the scruff and jump high into the air. I feel the coldness of the monster below my paws and I jump off, Turtlepaw still in my jaws, and land on the grass beside the others.

"PANTHERPAW! THAT WAS THE MOST DANGEROUS THING YOU COULD HAVE EVER DONE!! THANK STARCLAN YOUR ALIVE!!" Lilysong meows as I let go of Turtlepaw's scruff.

"T-thank you" I hear Turtlepaw murmur, shaking as if she where cold.

"Is Owltuft's patrol over yet? We need something for Turtlepaw's shock." I meow as I gingerly help Turtlepaw to her paws.

"They are coming over now." Twilightpelt meows. "That was very brave of you, but also very stupid. Don't ever try something like that again."

"Yes ma'am." I meow. Owltuft runs over to me and nuzzles my check.

"You almost scared the life out of me when to you ran back onto the Thunderpath! Are you okay? Is Turtlepaw hurt?" Owltuft meows. He walks over to sniff at Turtlepaw.

"She's just shocked." I meow. Littlelight runs over to Turtlepaw and drops a few poppy seeds on the ground in front of her.

"Here Turtlepaw. Eat these. They will help with the shock." She gently meows into Turtlepaw's ear.

Turtlepaw obeys her and licks up the poppy seeds. "Thank you" She meows.

I look over at the Thunderpath and notice that Echostar's group is now running over it. When Echostar's group is over she walks over to Littlelight. "Do you think we should stop for the day? I don't want anymore cats to get hurt." She meows.

"No. Let's keep going." Littlelight meows. "Turtlepaw just had little shock. She's not injured so she can keep going."

Echostar nods and rounds up the Clan. "Alright everyone! Let's get going." She starts to walk away from the Thunderpath.

After a few minutes of walking, I look to the left. I see something very far off in the distance. It looks like some tress surrounding a small lake. I don't pay much attention to it, thinking that it wasn't the Lake we where supposed to go to.

We continue walking for the rest of the day. I could no longer see the small lake in the distance. We find a patch of heather's to sleep in for the night. As I curl up to sleep I can't help but to think of the lake I had seen in the distance. Could that place be the one we are supposed to be going to? I think to myself before dosing off into sleep.
