I wake up to feel someone proding me in the stomach.

"Ow! Go away! I want to sleep more!" I mew swiping the paw away.

"Come on Leopardpaw! You need to wake up!" I hear Lionpaw meow from the other side of the den.

"Fine!" I meow opening my eyes and sit up, wishing I could see. I sense Blossomfoot standing in front of me.

"Was I supposed to be up earlier than this?" I meow, a little nervous, starting to groom my fur.

"No. Your fine." Blossomfoot starts. "I'm showing you all the territory today because the other mentors got put on patorls."

"Okay!" I meow, finishing my quick grooming.

I run out of the den and wait with Blossomfoot for the others. When they came out of the den, Blossomfoot led us torwads the tunnel. We walked past the place my group hunted yesterday, and towards a border. I didn't sense the stick in front of me fast enough and I triped over it, running right into Tigerpaw.

"Do you need help Leopardpaw? I can help if you like." Tigerpaw meows to me, helping me up and laying his tail over my shoulders. "You need to try to sense things faster. That will help you know where to put your paws. Duck! Good. There was a tree limp hanging down."

"Thanks. That would have hurt." I meow.

"Are you two okay back there?" I hear Blossomfoot meow.

"Yeah. I'm just helping Leopardpaw." Tigerpaw meows to her.

"Okay. You two be careful please." Blossomfoot meows back.

"How do you feel about being pampered over? With everyone worring about you. Stick" Tigerpaw asks me.

I step over the stick. "I guess I'm a little used to it. It can be a little annoying but it's fine. What about you?" I meow.

"I hate it. All I want to do is be independent and be a warrior. I don't like people fusing over me." Tigerpaw meows, "Do you want to be a warrior?"

"I'm not really sure anymore. I suck at hunting and I can't sense anything as well as you." I meow, unsure if I should say anything else.

"That's because your senses aren't fully developed." Tigerpaw starts, "Though, if you don't want to be a warrior, you can always go to being a medicine cat with Dawnpelt."

"I was thinking about that before I fell asleep last night." I meow.

"Okay guys! This is the SwiftClan border. Can one of you tell me what they smell like." Blossomfoot meows to everyone.

"I can!!" I meow. I don't move from where I am standing. I part my jaws and taste the air. "SwiftClan smells of rabits, birds, and the moors. Am I right?"

"Correct. How did you smell them from all the way over there? The wind is blowing away from us." Blossmfoot stats.

"I have good sent." I meow.

"Okay. Lets go to the other border. But first, help me mark the border everyone." Blossomfoot meows, marking a tree next to her.

On the way to the other border, everyone is helping mark trees and bushes on the border.

I smell a stream ahead of us and everyone stops.

"This is the StreamClan border. Leopardpaw, do you want to tell me what it smells like?" Blossomfoot meows to me.

I take a small, short sniff. "StreamClan smells of fish." I meow, wrinkling my nose.

"Yes. They don't smell very good, do they? Everyone get a good sniff while we mark this border. After that we can go back to camp, eat a bit, then go to the clearing for battle practice with your mentors." Blossomfoot meows before marking the side of the stream.

~Time Skip~

Once we got to the camp, everyone went to the fresh-kill pile and grabbed a little bit to eat. Our mentors walked over and said it was time to go to the training hollow/clearing for battle training.

We went through the thorn barrier/tunnel and walked the same path we walk yesterday. Sense I knew where everything was on the ground, it took less time to get there.

We got to the training hollow and the mentors told us to line up.

"Okay! Berrystrike is the best fighter so he will be showing you the moves while you guys try them out on us. That is why Ivypoppy is here with us." Sandclaw meowed to everyone. "Okay Berrystrike. Show them the first move."

I sense Berrystike crouched down in front of Ivypoppy and swiftly go under her belly, hit one of her hind legs, flip her over and get out from under her before she fell.

"Oof." Ivypoppy meowed. "I forgot how much that can hurt."

Everyone had a short laugh and the apprentices pared up with their mentors. Spottedpaw was now with us because she had explored the territory the day she was made an apprentice. Her mentor was here too.

Ivypoppy pared up with Lionpaw because Berrystrike was watching everyone to see if they did the move right.

"Okay Leopardpaw. Do you know what Berrystrike showed you?" Blossomfoot meowed to me as if I where a kit.

"Of course I know!" I meowed back, annoyed.

"Then show me." Berrystrike meowed in my ear.

I crouched down went under Blossomfoot, hit her hind legs like Berrystrike did and tried to get our from under her. Blossomfoot then fell on me.

"OW!" I meow, "GET OFF ME! THATS IT! I SUCK AT THIS! I DON'T WANT TO BE A WARRIOR ANYMORE!"

Blossomfoot gets off of me. Tigerpaw stares at me. "It was just one mistake Leopardpaw."

"ONE MISTAKE!?!? I MESS UP EVERYTHING I DO! I CAN'T HUNT, AND I CAN'T EVEN FIGHT!" I meow.

I run off into the forest, tripping over almost everything. I run all the way back to camp and to High Ledge. I get half way up when I trip. I close my eyes, waiting for the impact when I feel teeth sink into my scruff. Firestorm's smell swamps all around me. He lifts me up and places me on the far inside of the path.

"What do you think your doing?!? You almost gave me a heart attack when I saw you start to fall!" Firestorm meows with an angry and frightened smell emiting off him.

"I-I was looking for Stormstar..." I meow to my father.

"Why! You could have seriously hurt yourself coming up this ledge. Next time get help. Now follow me." Firestorm meows, putting his tail over my shoulder.

I quietly walk by Firestorm the rest of the way. I hear Blossomfoot run into the camp.

"Where's Leopardpaw?!?" She meows, sounding worried.

"She's here in camp. She almost fell all the way off High Ledge but Firestorm caught her. He has her in Stormstar's den with him. Everyone saw her run into camp and run straight for High Ledge." Molly meowed to her.

"Is she okay!?!" Blossomfoot asked, still worried.

"Of course. She is just a little shaken up." Flowerstem meowed, coming up behind Molly. "We all are after almost losing Leopardpaw."

I turn my senses on Stormstar who was now in front of me.

"Now what do you need to talk to me about that you put yourself in danger for?" Stormstar meowed to me. "We don't want to lose any cats."

"I want to be Dawnpelt's apprentice." I blurt out.

I feel Firestorm's gaze burn into my pelt."Now why is that? I thought you wanted to be a warrior like Tigerpaw." He meows to me.

"I did. That's because I thought my sense where as good as his, but they aren't so I want to be a medicine cat now." I meow back, staring straight at Stormstar as if I could see her.

"Alright. You can be a medicine cat apprentice." She finally meows after a long, quiet moment.

Stormstar walks out of the den and beckons for me. When I walk out I notice that everyone from the training hollow was now in the clearing of the camp. Stormstar and I walk to the Low Ledge and I stand below it while she stands on the ledge.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Low Ledge for a Clan meeting!" Stormstar meows loudly across the clearing, her voice carried throughout the whole camp.

Everyone quickly gathered around me, the other apprentices sitting right behind me. Stormstar called to Dawnpelt to come over but she looked a little confused.

"Leopardpaw. Do you wish to change your apprenticeship to Dawnpelt?" Stormstar meows.

"Yes." I meow, loud and clear enough for everyone to hear me. "I do."

"Alright. Your mentor will be Dawnpelt. I hope Dawnpelt will teach you everything she knows." Stormstar meows.

I sense Dawnpelt walk over to me and she touches noses with me. I lick her shoudler.

Dawnpelt walks me over to her den and she teaches me about herbs and what they are used for the rest of the day.

~Lionpaw's P.O.V.~

"Was I a bad mentor? Is that why she decided to be a medicine cat apprentice?" Blossomfoot mews to herself though everyone heard her and looked at her.

"I'm sure that's not true sweety." Molly, her mom, meows to her.

"Blossomfoot, if you want, I can give you one of Doveflight's 3 kits. They should be apprenticed in about 5 moons." Stormstar meows to her. "Or, I could give you one of the 2 kits that was abandoned by the edge of our territory. They should be apprenticed in 2 moons."

"Thank you Stormstar. That's very kind of you. May I join the next hunting patrol?" Blossomfoot mews.

"Hey, apprentices! Lets get back to battle training!" Sandclaw meows, gathering up the apprentices and mentors.

We leave camp and walk along the now very memorable trail to the training hollow. But this time instead of going around a tree, we all jump over it to make the walk faster.

We get to the training hollow and get in the positions we where in earlier and start to practice the same move.

I quickly go under Ivypoppy, hit both her hind legs, quickly get out from under her and when she lands I hop on top of her as if she were an actual enemy.

"Well done Lionpaw. You got it the first try. Tigerpaw, same to you. You two are very good fighters and hunters for what it looks like." Berrystrike meows. "Cheetahpaw! Very good! That was a very swift move at the end, and Spottedpaw. Try to hit both the hind legs instead of one."

I try the move again with Tigerpaw and he tries it on me. Cheetahpaw comes over and tries the move on both of us. She quickly knocks us both off our paws.

"HA! I knocked both of you guys down!" Cheetahpaw brags a bit.

"Ow!" Tigerpaw meows right before he knocks Cheetahpaw off her paws as well.

"Hey!" Cheetahpaw meows to Tigerpaw.

"Alright guys! That's enough. I am going to show you the next move." Berrystrike meows, walking over to us.

Spottedpaw was already waiting for us. Tigerpaw got on one side of her while I go on the other. Cheetahpaw got beside me, opposite of Spottedpaw.

"This next move will need a lot of concentration and balance," Berrystrike meows moving over to Ivypoppy. Berrystrike starts to quickly balance on his hind legs and swiped at Ivypoppy, with claws sheathed of course. "Now everyone try it."

I balance on my hinds paws just like Berrystike did and swipe my paw at Ivypoppy. Ivypoppy just bearly dodges the attack by side steping and running behind me. I quickly turn around still on my hind paws, jump in time to miss Ivypoppy's swipe and then swipe the top of her ear.

"Great move Lionpaw. Cheetahpaw, that was fast but focus on where you land the blows before you strike. Tigerpaw, you did great on that last move but in a real battle your opponent would have swiped at you a lot faster than how Sandclaw did. Good job Spottedpaw, but try to keep your balance longer." Berrystike meowed to everyone after they finsihed preforming the move he showed them. "Now we will try the dodging move Ivypoppy used on Lionpaw."

Ivypoppy tries to swipe at Berrystrike but he swifty side steps and moves to behind her, then he swipes at her. "Now everyone can try the move on your mentor."

Ivypoppy comes back over to me. I get ready for her to swipe at me. She takes a long time, trying to get me to let my guard down. She swiftly swipes at me and I side step, swiftly move behind her and get a few blows in before she turns around.

"Good job Lionpaw. I think you beat Berrystrike's record of geting blows in before an opponent turns around!" Ivypoppy jokes as Berrystike comes over.

"Very funny Ivypoppy," Berrystike meows to her, "anyways, that was very good Lionpaw. I'm glad to have you as an apprentice."

Berrystike moves over to the other apprentices, telling them that they did the move greatly or something they need to work on.

"Okay everyone. I am going to show you guys one more attacking move and then we will head back to camp." Ivypoppy goes back over to Berrystike and gets in her battle stance. Berrystike gets into his crouch and jumps over Ivypoppy and onto her back, roles her over, and then swipes at her stomach with his hinds legs. And of course, his claws are sheathed. He gets off of Ivypoppy and faces us. "Now I want you guys to try the move."

Ivypoppy once again walks over to me and faces me, getting into her battle stance quickly. I crouch down and jump high over Ivypoppy's head and land square on her back. I quickly flip her over before she can knock me off and swipe at her stomach with my hind paws. I then jump off of her.

"Great job everyone. That move can be a little hard sense you have to have enough strength to flip the other cat over, but I am very pleased that beside the flipping over part, everyone got the move correct. Now lets all head to camp, but if you happen to hear or see any prey, try to catch it. We don't want to come back empty pawed even though we where training battle moves."

With that, everyone headed back to camp. On the way there we caught 3 mice, 1 squirrel, and 2 thrush.

Tigerpaw and I shared a mouse and then went up to Stormstar's den. Silentfrost, Silverclaw, and Firstorm where in the den with her.

"Okay. You two are here now. Silentfrost and Silverclaw will be coming with Firestorm and I to watch what you two have to show us." Stormstar meowed as we walked in to stand beside Silentforst and Silverclaw.

"Alright. We're fine with that." I meow to Stormstar.

"Have you two eaten yet? If you have we can go ahead and leave camp." Firestorm meows.

"We ate a mouse right before we came up here." Tigerpaw meows to Firestorm.

"Okay. Then, we can go ahead and leave." Stormstar walks out of her den with everyone following right behind her. "Sandclaw! I leave you in charge while Firestorm and I are out of camp. We should be back in time for sharing tounges"

"Alright Stormstar. I will see you then." Sandclaw meows to her as we walk out of camp.

~Time Skip~

We make it to an area where it is covered in not to dense trees. We are only a little way off from the training hollow though. Stormstar leads us to a tree and points her tail at it.

"Would this tree be okay for everyone to climb?" She asks us. Tigerpaw walks up to the tree and gives it a sniff.

"This tree should be fine, but try to find thick branches." He meows starting to climb up, one paw after the other, until he gets to a thick branch that could fit us both. "Lionpaw. Help the others up here. There are a few thick branches above me."

"Okay. Just follow where I put my paws. One at a time though." I meow to everyone. I start to slowly climb up the tree, with everyone slowly coming up the tree behind me.

I make it to the branch above Tigerpaw's head and Silentfrost and Silverclaw sit beside me while Stormstar and Firestorm sits on the branch above me. I jump down to the branch Tigerpaw is sitting on.

"Okay now we are going to work on running from branch to branch. You start from the trunk to get a running start and once you get to the end of the branch, jump to the next branch. Make sure you get a good push so that you can make it to the next branch though." I meowed to everyone above us.

I climb back onto to trunk and stay there so that Tigerpaw can get a good running start. Tigerpaw goes toward where I was standing which is right beside the trunk. Tigerpaw parts his jaws and sniffs the air, trying to determine where the end of the branch is and where the start of another is. Tigerpaw then swifty starts running across the branch and once he gets to the end, he pushes off the branch with full strenght and lands on the other side. Tigerpaw quickly goes toward the trunk, where the branch is more sturdy. I then step off the trunk and onto the branch. I study the lenght of the branch and the lenght of the gap. I start to run and once I get to the end of the branch I push off with all the might I have and fly over the gap between both branches. I clear the gap and land in the middle of the branch clinging my claws in as the branch shook below me. As the branch steady I walked to the trunck and climbed up to the branch Silentforst and Silerclaw would have to jump to. The branch was a lot thicker than the one Tigerpaw and I had jumped to.

"Okay. Do you two think your ready or do you want to go after Stormstar and Firestorm?" I meow to Silentfrost and Silverclaw.

"We are ready." Silentfrost and Silverclaw meow at the same time.

"Okay. While one of you is jumping the other will have to wait on the trunk. If it where just you two, instead of one of you having to wait, you could jump on the branch above." Tigerpaw stats. "Which ever one of you is waiting will have to find a good paw hold close to the branch and stick their claws deep into the wood."

"Okay. I will go first" Silentfrost meows.

"Okay. Let me go ahead and find a paw hold while you jump to the next branch." Silverclaw meows as she climbs onto the trunk and quickly finds a paw hold.
