▪️ FLAMEPAW ▪️

Flamepaw watched Lavenderstone, eyes wide as she showed him the hunting crouch.

"Can't the prey get away if you don't move quickly?" He asked, recalling the way WindClan cats hunted. Lavenderstone stood up straight again, purring a little in amusement.

"We step lightly and make almost no noise while we move, so the prey doesn't know we are there. Sometimes the prey gets away if we aren't too careful though." She explained. "Why don't you try?" Flamepaw nodded and dropped into what he thought Lavenderstone's crouch had looked like.

Lavenderstone padded around him, every once and a while meowing tips like, "move your paws closer to your chest" and "don't move your tail, it may move leaves and create noise".

By the time they were finished for the day, Flamepaw practically had the hunting crouch down, aside from a few little things that he would have to learn as he got accustomed to ThunderClan's way of hunting.

The spotted ginger tom yawned as he and Lavenderstone pushed their way into the camp clearing.

"All cats old enough to catch their own prey, meet beneath the Highledge for a clan meeting!" Honeystar's voice rang through the clearing and Lavenderstone's whiskers twitched.

"Looks like we are just in time." The she-cat meowed, before she led him towards the Highledge and to where they sat beneath. Flamepaw watched Honeystar curiously as the golden she-cat looked over her clan.

"Tonight is the Gathering, and I have decided the cats who will come with me." She told the clan, pausing. "Brackenstorm, Sandstream, Doerunner, Caracalnose, Lavenderstone, Ploverwing, Spottedcreek, Ashtail, Pantherpaw, Darkpaw, and Lightningpaw; you all will accompany me to tonight's Gathering." Lavenderstone nodded curtly, still watching her leader. Flamepaw glanced over at Lavenderstone. He was a little disappointed he wasn't able to go, but it gave him a chance to go visit Stripe again.

"Clan dismissed." Honeystar called out before jumped down and landing neatly by her deputy.

As the chosen cats gathered and said a quick farewell to those not going, Flamepaw padded across the clearing towards Dirtplace, though behind him stood a hurt Lightningpaw, who he had unknowingly walked away from, leaving her alone.

//sorry for the short chapter, as well as for the long wait. I've unfortunately been extremely busy, but it's all good now.
I also wanted to let you guys know that I will be writing the next chapter, even though it's in Lightningpaw's POV. I wanted to say this just to make sure none of you guys got confused!
