▪️ LIGHTNINGPAW ▪️

Lightingpaw stretched in the sun while the clan bustled around. Her smoky fur was tinted with dust, as the commotion picked up around her.

Mumors, and even a few shouts were followed, all of them almost being the same thing. "Who.. is that.. Why is a WindClan kit here... That doesn't make any sense..."

Lightingpaw stayed at the back of the group, not daring to take a look. A WindClan cat is here? And a kit? She thought. She tried getting a better view but couldn't over the much larger and taller cats. Another apprentice was doing the same, trying to squeeze through the crowd, but only earning himself scowls from the other warriors.

"Not fair..." he mumbled to himself. He glanced over at Lightningpaw. "Seems your having the same problem also?" He asked her, grinning a little.

"Yea.." She said, and slumped down.

Honeystar stalked out of the leaders den, and narrowed her eyes a little. "Bring the WindClan cat to my den." She meowed to Juniperclaw. Warriors cleared a path so the WindClan cat and the black warrior could get through.

A ginger apprentice with his head down walked into the leaders den, Honeystar and Juniperclaw behind him. As the clan cleared and they went on patrols, Lightingpaw snuck away. One of the cats that were on patrol was in there with them. Lightingpaw sneakily made her way to there den.

"What are you saying? That he was running from something?" Honeystar meowed. "It seemed like it, he was pretty high up in that tree, and looked out of breath." Juniperclaw meowed.

"Ye-yes, I was run-runnning..." the ginger apprentice squeaked.

"Well, he doesn't belong her-" Honeystar was interrupted by a squeaky voice.

"No! Don't take me back, please!" The ginger toms head shot up. There was a long pause, followed by a unseating silence.

Honeystar finally spoke after a few minutes. "What do you mean? You want to stay here?" She asked.

"I can't go back to WindClan..." He spoke softly once again.

"What's your name" Honeystar asked, and the ginger apprentice glanced back up.

"Flamepaw..." Lightingpaw quickly darted away as Honeystar left her den, quickly followed by Flamepaw. She didn't hear the last part of their conversation.

Honeystar jumped up onto the high rock, and yowled. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey, come here for a clan meeting." Cats started coming out of their dens, and settled down below the high rock.

Flamepaw sat in front of it, and warriors looked suspiciously at him. Lightingpaw took a seat by the front, wanting to learn more about him.

"Flamepaw, you have come to our clan to escape something." Honeystar paused, "But we will welcome you into our clan, as a apprentice. Since you are already one, all you need is a mentor."

"Juniperclaw, I have chosen you to mentor Flamepaw. You were in the patrol that found him, and I believe that he trusts you most. I hope you will train him as if he is our own." Honeystar paused as they touched noses. The warrior looked a little surprised at first, but shook it off. Lightingpaw cheered with the crowd, and as everyone left she and Flamepaw were the only ones left. He still looked a little startled, but now it was mixed with confusion.

Lightingpaw swiftly made her way over to him. "Lost?" She asked him. Flamepaw only nodded his head. "Come on, speak, I'm not going to bite." She teased slightly.

"U-um, I'm Flamepaw..." he stuttered.

"I'm Lightingpaw!" Lightingpaw meowed and bounced around him. All the commotion helped her forgot about her parents and siblings death, and she had a feeling deep inside that they would be good friends. "Follow me! I'll take you to the Apprentices den!" Lightingpaw meowed to the ginger apprentice, and led him to their den.
