Starstorm was woken from his slumber from chatter outside the Warrior's Den. Careful not to wake anyone up, Starstorm padded carefully out of the den. After he got out, he saw RiverClan's leader, Silverstar and the Medicine Cat, Milktail, talking. Both she- cats had worried expressions on their faces. Starstorm crept behind the Warrior's Den. Hoping not to be seen, he poked his head out from his hiding place a bit. From here, he could hear and see the two she- cats perfectly. "So the omen you received last night is about Starstorm?" Silverstar asked, sounding confused and disturbed. Milktail nodded. "I believe so," Silverstar tilted her head. "And what exactly was this omen about?" Milktail closed her eyes. "The omen was a dead patch of grass flanked by healthy, green grass, and a fallen leaf shaped like a star on the dead grass. I also heard repeated whispers saying, 'Silver Tom, Silver Tom'.

I believe the patch of dead grass is RiverClan and the green grass is the rest of the Clans. The star- leaf and the Silver Tom whispers obviously mean Starstorm. I fear our ancestors are warning us about our clanmate and that we may regret keeping him in RiverClan." Starstorm gasped. What did he do to deserve this? What had he ever been but a loyal RiverClan warrior? At some point, they must have noticed he was there because both cats turned to where he was hiding. "Starstorm, why were you eavesdropping?" Silverstar meowed. "We know you're there," Milktail added. Starstorm came out. There was no point in hiding any longer. "Starstorm, come forward please," Silverstar meowed. Starstorm did obediently. "How much did you hear?" Milktail asked, her ears perked up.

"Enough," Starstorm answered with a flick of his tail. Silverstar sighed. "I was going to do this in the morning, but since you're here, I'll get it over with." Silverstar sighed. "Starstorm, I'm very sorry, but I have no choice but to exile you. I will tell the Clan in the morning." Starstorm looked at Silverstar, shame in his eyes. "I understand." He then started running and did not look back.
