Chapter 5

(This video from above is inspiration for one of the parts of this chapter. Hope that would help.)

When Tigerfang and Thunderheart are in the shade where Stungfang is laying, Tigerfang curled up and started to fall asleep. To Thunderheart, he's too excited to sleep and he wanted to tell his news to his other friends. "Stungfang," he whispered to his friends' ear. Stungfang flinched a bit, Thunderheart sighed. "Stungfang," he tapped his friend's shoulder. "Wake up,"

"What?" Stungfang woke up, "You have just interrupted my sleep, I just have the coolest dream ever."

"Yeah, sorry about that." Thunderheart apologized, "But I need you to come with me to the secret hiding place that I am going to meet some other clan cats."

"So you could tell the good news,"

"Yes, and I need you to be my lookout."

"And be your witness if something ever happens to you,"

"Yes," Thunderheart nodded.

Stungfang yawned, "Alright, but what is in it for me?"

"I won't disturb you when you sleep happily," Thunderheart begun. "Plus, I will catch your favorite bird that is called the Robin."

Stungfang purred, "Alright, it's a deal."

"Now, come on. We can't be late and make sure that we won't be followed,"

Stungfang nodded as they both stood and padded to the tunnel at the back of the clan. Once they have gone through it, they have started to head upstream of the river, into the forest. But they didn't realize that they were been followed.

While Stungfang and Thunderheart are walking upstream, down by the river, away from the lake. Everything is peaceful but, Thunderheart's tail keeps on flicking and keep on looking at the corner of his eye every minute and look back straight. Stungfang sighed, "What's wrong Thunderheart?" he asked,

"Huh?" Thunderheart turned his head to him,

"Your kind of look a little tense," Stungfang meowed. "So what's up?"

"I don't know," Thunderheart shrugged. "I just got a feeling that we are being followed,"

"Really?"

Thunderheart nodded, "And I don't know why I couldn't shake the feeling off when I don't see any cats around,"

"Well, you do have a point about it but..."

"Help!" a voice squeaked,

"What was that?" Stungfang meowed,

"Some other cat, please help me!" the voice echoed,

"That sounds like a kit," Thunderheart meowed. "And it some kind of in trouble,"

"Then let's go see," Stungfang padded towards the voice, and Thunderheart followed.

At the other side of the river, a small black and white she-kit with green eyes is at the edge of the rock, trembling. "Whoever you are," she meowed. "Stay away," between the branches of the bush. A very dark cat with a mask on is standing still,

"If you can see me," the toms' voice meowed. "That means that you will not live to tell," he growled as he's about to pounce.

The kit yelped as she fell into the water and floating in the current. "Help!" she cried,

"It's over here," a voice shouted. The dark cat hid, looked between the branches of the bush, and he saw a black tom with a white spot on his right eye and a ginger tom with a flame-colored pelt.

The dark cat growled as he saw the ginger tom,

"Stungfang," the ginger tom with the flame-pelt meowed. "There's the kit,"

"We just can't leave it there," Stungfang meowed. "It will drown,"

"I will swim towards it and I will meet you at that hanging branch,"

"But Thunderheart..."

"No time to argue, we have to use the time to save that kit. Got it?"

"Yes," Stungfang nodded. Then Thunderheart jumped into the water and swam fast as he can, and Stungfang ran to the hanging branch on the ledge of the river bed.

Without hearing a sound, the dark tom purred its growl. Thunderheart huh? He thought, Just my luck, then he flicked its tail as another cat came to its side. "You know what to do,"

The cat nodded and started to pad away from him, and the dark tom has disappeared without a trace.

In the river, Thunderheart swam all of his might to get to the kit. "Help!" the kit cried as it coughed some water out, "Help!"

"Hang on kit," Thunderheart meowed. "I'm coming!" then he got to its side, "Hop onto my head and neck," then the kit climbed onto his back, unsheathed its claws, and wrapped its paws around his head. "Okay, whatever you do. Don't let go," he swam strongly towards the branch. He unsheathed his claws and grabbed hold of the branch, Thunderheart can feel the branch is wobbly. He looks at the branches root; it almost coming out of the ground. It won't hold us both, Thunderheart thought. Suddenly he saw his friend coming towards them, Unless... suddenly he has an idea.

"Don't worry," Stungfang meowed. "I'm coming,"

"Don't!" Thunderheart meowed,

"Why?"

"The branch," Thunderheart began. "It won't hold onto the three of us,"

"Then how am I supposed to get you and the kit?"

"Let the kit come to you,"

"What?"

"Just hold onto the branch and let the kit walk towards you when it crosses," all at once, Stungfang follows him.

"Okay," Stungfang unsheathed his claws and grabbed hold of the branch. "Okay, I got it."

"Okay kit," Thunderheart shouted. "You have to cross the branch,"

"What?" the kit jumped, "Are you squirrel nuts?"

"It is the only way, just trust me."

"Okay," the kit gently climbed over Thunderheart's head and got onto the branch.

"Alright, just walk towards Stungfang..."

"What if I fell in again?" the kit squeaked,

"You won't, just trust me. I'm right behind you,"

"Okay," then the kit slowly walks towards Stungfang. Thunderheart watches the kit very carefully as it walks towards Stungfang.

When the kit is in front of Stungfang, Stungfang purred. "The kit made it," Stungfang meowed as he grabbed the kit, and let go of the branch. Suddenly, the cracking sound from the branch has just sounded.

Thunderheart panted a bit, then Stungfang turned and see in horror. Quickly, he put the kit down on dry land.

"Wait here," he meowed to the kit. Then he padded to the roots and grabbed the branch again. It stopped for a moment, "Thunderheart," Stungfang meowed. "You have to move, now."

"If I do," Thunderheart meowed back. "The current of this river and the branch will take both of us to StarClan,"

StarClan? The kit wondered, but as she watched the other cats struggling. It has begun to worry, "What are we supposed to do?" the kit squeaked,

"Stungfang," Thunderheart meowed. "Take the kit to our clan, and get help."

"No way," Stungfang nodded. "I'm not leaving you behind like this,"

"Don't be such a mouse brain," a voice meowed. When Stungfang turned his head around, he saw a familiar cat from his clan.

"Tigerfang?" Stungfang meowed, "What are you doing here?"

"Following you two and see why on earth that you both are sneaking out of ThunderClan," Tigerfang answered. "But saving a kit and this, you defiantly do need more paws."

"Are you saying...?"

"I'll hold onto the branch while you take the kit to the clan and get help,"

"That could work," Thunderheart meowed. "Tigerfang is the strongest, he will hold it till help comes."

"Yes it can work," Stungfang nodded. "Alright, put your paws on it to switch out." Then Tigerfang unsheathed his claws, grabbed the branch, and Stungfang switched out. "You got it?"

"Yes," Tigerfang answered.

"Okay, hang on Thunderheart." Stungfang meowed. "I'll come back with help,"

"Okay, but hurry!" Thunderheart meowed, "I'm not sure how long that I can hold,"

"Okay," Stungfang meowed as he padded to the kit. "Hang on," he gently scooped the kit at the scruff. We'll be back, Stungfang promised in thought as he ran with the kit in his mouth.

While Stungfang ran back to the clan, so he could get help and deliver the kit to Leappatch in time. While Thunderheart is holding on, his legs ache and his eyes are droopy. Suddenly he saw his brothers' eyes are normal, all of the sudden, his eyes are now a blur. Thunderheart popped his head up, "Tigerfang," he meowed. "What's wrong?" Tigerfang did not answer, all he could do is to stare. "Tigerfang, why aren't you answering? Tigerfang?"

"He can't hear you," a voice answered. Thunderheart looks at Tigerfang's right side, he saw a mysterious cat with a metal mask on its face with a black cloak and red glowing eyes. "He can only listen to me,"

"Who...who are you?" Thunderheart asks,

"I'm your brothers' master," he answered.

"You're what?" then a mysterious cat with a metal mask on its face with a black cloak and red glowing eyes jumped onto the branch, Thunderheart gasped. How can this...? Thunderheart thought and looks firmly at the cat, "Who and what are you?"

"Just call me Deathstar," he answered. Then he turned to Thunderheart, "And you reminded me about some other cat that I once knew, along time ago."

"What?" Thunderheart meowed, suddenly Deathstar unsheathe his claws and grabbed Thunderheart's paws. Thunderheart meowed in pain as Deathstar's claws are piercing through Thunderheart's fur and skin. Suddenly, Deathstar leans forward and looks into Thunderheart's eyes.

"Long live the fire," Deathstar growled as he whispered mischiefuly.

"What?" Thunderheart's eyes widened in fear and shock, all the sudden, Deathstar lifted his paws and Thunderheart has let go of the branch. Thunderheart went backward and landed hard in the water, then he popped up to gasp for air.

Deathstar chuckled suddenly he heard noises, "Let's go," Deathstar jumped over Tigerfang and padded away. Then Tigerfang padded after him and disappeared without a trace.

(This video is an inspiration of about Thunderheart encounters of what is at the end at the river. Hope that you don't mind.)

While Thunderheart is been pushed by the waves of the river, he keeps on gasping for air and spitting out water. Suddenly he heard someone meowed out his apprentice name, "Thunderpaw!" he looked at the shore. He saw a large white tom with huge jet-black paws, a dark gray tom, and a silver tabby she-cat with silvery-grey stripes and light blue eyes. Suddenly he recognized them,

"Shadowpaw!" Thunderheart meowed and coughed out water, "Ravenpaw! Pearlpaw!"

"Hang on Thunderpaw!" the dark gray tom meowed,

"We're coming," the large white tom with huge jet-black paws meowed. As the three chased to the river before anything could happen. Thunderheart heard a noise behind him, he turned around. He saw the sky and the waves pushing him towards it. He saw the top of the trees,

Falling water! Thunderheart panicked and turned back around, "Guys, I won't be able to make it. I need you to give this message to Yellowstar!"

"Don't say that!" a silver tabby she-cat with silvery-grey stripes and light blue eyes meowed,

"We're almost to the edge so we could catch you," the dark gray tom meowed.

"Just hang in there," the large white tom with huge jet-black paws meowed.

"Tell..." Thunderheart spit out water, "...tell Yellowstar...there is a traitor in the cla-a-a-an!" then Thunderheart has fallen to the high falling water.

"No!" Pearlpaw meowed,

"We're too late," Ravenpaw lowered his head.

"Looks like that we're going to tell Yellowstar his message after all," Shadowpaw mewed.

"We didn't get a chance to tell him our warrior names yet," Pearlpaw looks down.

"It's alright Pearltail," Ravenpaw meowed as he laid his tail on her shoulder. "Maybe in StarClan, they will let him know."

"I hope that you are right Ravenclaw," Pearltail mewed.

"Come on you two," Shadowpaw meowed. "We have to get to ThunderClan and deliver the message from Thunderpaw or whatever his name is now."

"Alright Shadowfang," said Ravenclaw. "We will do that," then the three of them have padded to the ThunderClan territory and deliver the message to Yellowstar.
