Chapter 15

(Like this video, it reminds me a lullaby. So I thought it might help part of this chapter.)

While Kittithrine is resting, she has starting to dream about some cats that are falling in love and become mates. The cats are a rose-cream tabby she-cat that is covered in stars and a dark brown tabby tom with black stripes and a scar across its chest. It is warm but a fuzzy feeling that she could not see, suddenly a faint glow comes between these two cats. All at once, it has gone fast forward and back. Back to the cats, "My love," the rose-cream tabby she-cat that is covered in stars meowed. "Please take care of our kit,"

"Don't worry... ... ...," the dark brown tabby tom with black stripes and a scar across its chest meowed. "I will," then the vision in the dream has suddenly jumped forward and back.

In the next part of the dream, the same tom is arguing with another tom: a small black tabby tom with blue eyes. "I will not allow you to hurt my kit," the dark brown tabby tom with black stripes and a scar across its chest growled.

"Well if you do your job right, you won't have this type of trouble." The small black tabby tom with blue eyes growled, all the sudden, the dream has fast forward and went back. In the dream, she saw the dark brown tabby tom with black stripes and a scar across its chest gave something to a very small kitten.

"Quickly," the tom meowed. "Take every last drop of it," suddenly Kittithrine has started to smell the scent of milk.

Strange, Kittithrine thought. It smells so strange, but it feels so familiar. But why? Suddenly, everything has gone back and forth. Then she saw a dark brown tabby tom with black stripes and a scar across its chest is standing in front of her. The cat is staring at her with yellow eyes that are filled with worrying and sorrow. Kittithrine wants to speak to him, but he put his tail low.

"Don't go into the BloodClan!" the dark brown tabby tom with black stripes and a scar across its chest meowed,

"Why not?" Kittithrine meowed,

"It's not safe," the dark brown tabby tom with black stripes and a scar across its chest nodded. "It is not your time to know about it yet,"

"What's not safe? What do you mean it is not my time?" all the sudden, the cat has disappeared out of thin air. "Wait, come back!" then everything has gone from white to black.

When Kittithrine woke up, she felt uneasy and her head is spinning. What is going on? Kittithrine wondered as she is starting to sit up, What's happening to me? Suddenly, mice have been tossed towards Kittithrine paws, she has flattened her ears.

"Fresh kill is served," a dark cream-tabby meowed.

"Hope that you like killed mice," the brown tom laughed. "Like you're going to need it," then the toms left Kittithrine alone. But Kittithrine stared at the dead mice as her stomach growls loudly.

While Kittithrine is staring at the mice, then the ginger tom with a flame-colored pelt has come to her side. "Hey," he meowed. "I'd just heard that the cats have brought fresh kill,"

"Yeah, they did," Kittithrine nodded. Then her stomach growled, she started to feel her ears burning and wondered if any of the cats have just heard that.

"Hey," he mewed. "Aren't you hungry?"

"No," she nodded. "Not really," she stared at the mice.

"Just give it a try," the tom meowed. Suddenly, Kittithrine has started to tremble. The ginger tom felt it, he sighed. "If your too afraid, I can join with you so you could try it. Would that be fine?"

"Umm...I guess," Kittithrine shrugged. Then she and the ginger tom bent sown at the same time and took a bite of a mouse of their own. Kittithrine has started to chew the chunk in her mouth, she can taste the flavor of chicken that has been baked. Though it is raw, and she has started to like it, Slimy but satisfying, she thought as she swallowed. (Inspired by the Lion King, love the Hakuna Matata.)

"So?" the ginger tom meowed, "What do you think?"

"Uh...it's okay, I guess." Kittithrine shrugged,

"You better eat the rest of it," the ginger tom tossed his mouse to her. "Here, you can have the rest of mine."

"But..." Kittithrine mewed, "What about you? Do you need to eat too?"

"Yes but..." the ginger tom meowed, "Your strength is more important than you realized. I can handle with no food for a few days, but you can't."

"Because I'm new to this?"

"Yes,"

"Oh," Kittithrine mewed. "But are you sure about it?"

"Yes, I'm sure." The ginger tom purred as he nodded,

"Alright then," Kittithrine spoke. If you say so, she thought as she continues to eat.

After she finished eating, Kittithrine has started to feel better but in her mind. She has so many questions that she wanted to ask when she turned to the ginger tom. Before she could ask, the ginger tom felt her vibes. "What is wrong?" the ginger tom turned to her, "Is there something in your mind?"

"I was just wondering," Kittithrine mewed. "Do you have a name? For a..."

"For a cat who wasn't named by from your kind?" The ginger tom tilted his head,

"Yes," Kittithrine nodded.

"Well, since we're getting to know each other." The ginger tom sat comfortably, "Then let's start," he cleared his throat. "My name is Thunderheart, I am a warrior from ThunderClan."

"ThunderClan?" Kittithrine tilted her head, "What is that?"

"That's what and where I was raised in and grew up in."

Hmm strange, Kittithrine thought. It sounds so familiar, but I've never even been there. Why is that?

"Now you know who I am," Thunderheart meowed. "Can you at least tell me your name in return?"

"Oh, of course." Kittithrine nodded, "My name is Kittithrine Litterson, I am a human in the Human World."

"Human?" Thunderheart tilted his head,

"That's what we call ourselves,"

"Where I come from, we call your kind two legs."

"Is it because we walk on two legs instead of four?" Kittithrine narrowed her eyes,

"Yup," Thunderheart nodded.

Now that is insulting, Kittithrine thought as she shakes off her nerve of irritation from her pelt. "But in truth," her expression changes. "Where do you come from exactly? Just from curiosity,"

"You want to know where I was born and lived before you found and saved me?"

"Yes," Kittithrine nodded.

"I wish that I can tell you," Thunderheart looks down as he held his ground.

Because you have been betrayed, Kittithrine thought as she understood. As she remembers her dream about Thunderheart is in trouble and how his brother betrayed him. She fully understands how he feels, But...how can I explain to him what I saw and heard? Kittithrine wondered. Will he ever believe me if I tell him that? Kittithrine thought for a moment longer,

"But..." Kittithrine looks at Thunderheart as she pushes the questions to the side of her mind. As she sees Thunderheart looking at her with green olive eyes that are full of nervous and shyness, "I can tell you the story about my clan and the other clans' ancestors, and how it all begins from there."

Kittithrine smiled, "I can go with that," Kittithrine purrs as she lay down and begun to listen.

Thunderheart purred, "Well you see, before my time. My clan is with three other clans to the combination of four clans that used to live in a forest. Just like this one. We live and survive for many seasons,"

Seasons, Kittithrine wondered, is that their words for years? "What type of clans are neighbors with?"

"Neighbors?" Thunderheart tilted his head,

"Enemies, allies, a clan, or a cat that could be a close friend to you or a clan," Kittithrine explained,

"Oh that," Thunderheart understood. "Well, let me see." Thunderheart thinks for a moment, "Well, one of the clans that live in a forest that are moist and dark. They are wily and proud. They are known as the ShadowClan.

"The other clan who likes to eat fish and likes to get wet. They are clever and strong. They are known as the RiverClan.

"The other clan that who lives in an open field runs very fast and like to live close to StarClan. They are swift and loyal. They are known as the WindClan.

"My clan that lives in a forest and likes to hunt for squirrels and like to climb trees. We are fierce and brave. We are known as ThunderClan."

"But...what is the StarClan?"

"StarClan is where all of the warriors go after they die and they become a star in the Silverpelt,"

The Milky Way, Kittithrine barely jumped as she continues to listen.

"They are noble and very wise, and spoke to either leaders, deputies, and medicine cats right through their dreams."

"What are medicine cats? What are they like?"

"Medicine cats who specialize each other's herbs and shared with different territories. They have a different code than us warriors have; they don't mate and don't have kits. But they help the sick or injured cats, including assisting the elders, and help the queens that are expecting kits."

"What happens if they do mate and have kits?"

"They will retire from the Medicine Cat duties and be replaces by its apprentice and become either a warrior or an elder. So far in my life, it didn't even happen."

Hmm...it sounded like that they are virgins to me. Kittithrine thought, But... "Can you explain to me about how they visit your ancestors and everything about your clanmates?"

"Sure," Thunderheart purred as he nodded. "Well, I know that medicine cats from all clans get together once a half a moon to speak with StarClan. But the role for the leaders in each clan gains special gifts from StarClan."

"What kind of gifts?"

"They will gain nine lives to live for,"

"I thought nine lives is a med fore or something where I came from,"

Thunderheart narrowed his eyes for a bit, "Technically, they are not." He cleared his throat as his expression changed back to a friendly look, "They are actually will gain nine lives from StarClan and gain their leader name that ends with a "star". Now I wonder how many lives that my father has left since I left the territory,"

"Your father is a clan leader?" Kittithrine pricked her eyes up,

"He sure is," Thunderheart nodded.

"You're so lucky to have a father like that,"

Thunderheart meowed for a bit, "You can say that," he purred. "Anyway, after their ninth life has already been lost. The deputy of the clan will be next in line to be the leader of the clan and a new deputy will be appointed at moon high."

Moon high, Kittithrine wondered. Is that their word for midnight?

"But in the clan, there are warriors like me with apprentices."

"Apprentices?" Kittithrine tilted her head,

"Well, when a she-cat is a queen who has kits. When the kits are six moons old, they will become apprentices till they gain their warrior name. But when the cats are old and retired, they will become known as elders."

Moons...is that their word for a month as well? Kittithrine wondered, then something has appeared in her mind. "But...do the clans meet together and get along or something for once in a lifetime?"

"Yes, they do," Thunderheart nodded. "Once a full moon, all clans get together for a meeting. So, they could learn to trust some cats to become friends with and have no fights for a night."

"Wow, never thought that you cats have something important, have alliance and allegiances to one and another."

"Yes, yes we do." Thunderheart purred, "Now, you know everything about my home. Can you at least tell me about what you two-legs do in your lifetime?"

"Oh uh...sure," Kittithrine sat up. "Now let's see...where to begin," Kittithrine thought. "Well, we do have one leader that is called the president that we can elect for once or twice a year. There are some people in line to take his place if he too dies. There are warriors known as soldiers and a government. We do have doctors and..." suddenly, her head has become dizzy and realized something. "Oh boy, the way I sounded like. It has become boring and more complicated than yours is."

Thunderheart purred his laughter,

"What?!" Kittithrine hissed,

"Sorry," Thunderheart meowed. "It has just sounded like that it is hard and very complicated for you to explain everything to me about your world."

"It's a lot to take in huh?"

"Very," Thunderheart nodded. Suddenly, he saw the sadness in Kittithrine's eyes. "Did I say something wrong that bothers you that much?"

"Uh...no," Kittithrine nodded. "It's something else,"

"What is it?"

"The way I was raised in," Kittithrine began. "My people and I were taught that we are direct descendants of Adam and Eve, the first two-legs who ever walked among us in this world. But...I was not sure that I was not even that part of it,"

"What do you mean?"

"On one winter night,"

"Winter?" Thunderheart tilted his head,

"What do you call a season with snow falling?"

"Leaf-bare,"

"Okay, what do you call for plants that grow in a warm and cool place? Following a very dark green color growth?"

"We call those Green Leaf,"

"Okay, what do you call the season of leaves falling off from the trees with a different color?"

"Falling Leaf,"

"Okay, the way we call them is Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. Those are our four seasons,"

"Oh, that is very complicated for me to catch up with."

"Mm-hmm," Kittithrine nodded. "But anyway, as I was saying. On one winter night, I was founded at the doorstep of my parent's household. I was not bundled in a blanket or your words. Curled up with your mothers' fur, I was butt naked. In your words, no-fur. And I was abandoned on that night,"

"But... do any two-legs know who you or who your birth parents are?"

"No one knows," Kittithrine shrugged. "But since my parents didn't have any kids of their own. So, they have decided to adopt me and raise me as their own. But somehow...deep down, I do not know that I should..." Kittithrine has begun to shake, then Thunderheart lean his muzzle against hers.

"It's okay," Thunderheart meowed. "You don't have to say it, I fully understand."

"You do?"

Thunderheart nodded, "You see," he sat up straight. "My brother and I, we used to have a mother of our own. Her name was Phoenixtail..." he introduces his mother's name, "But she has died since we were still very small kits, on the same day that she saved our father's life and gave birth to us. And we have been raised by a different queen all our whole life since then,"

"Really?"

Thunderheart nodded,

"Oh Thunderheart..." Kittithrine's throat has become dry, "I'm so sorry, I've should have never brought this up."

"No, it's fine." Thunderheart nodded, "I'm fine with it, and besides. I know that my mother is watching me,"

"You do?"

Thunderheart nodded,

"How do you know?"

"I don't know," Thunderheart shrugged. "I just do,"

Is Thunderheart trying to tell me that he forgives his mother for leaving him, his brother, and every cat in the clan for her sacrifice? Kittithrine wondered, Is he trying to tell me that I too need to learn how to forgive someone that has abandoned me or doing something right for me? Or is it something else that he is trying to explain to me? Kittithrine yawned,

"It's getting late," Thunderheart looks at the entrance from the distance. "You should rest, I'll stand guard for the night."

"Are you sure Thunderheart?" Kittithrine asked, "I can try to say up for the watch for you so you could too sleep,"

"No need," Thunderheart nodded. "Besides, I need to do my sitting vile so I could have granted the true title of a warrior. So standing guard for you is one way to go,"

"Oh...but are you sure about it?"

"Yes, I'm sure." Thunderheart nodded,

Kittithrine purred as she smiled, she leaned her muzzle against his. "Thanks, Thunderheart, you're very sweet."

Thunderheart ears are burning with a fuzzy feeling within him, "Uh...you're welcome," then Kittithrine has stopped leaning on him. She went into her sleeping corner, curled herself up, and begun to fall asleep. But, near her pelt, she can feel Thunderheart's presence and sitting in front of her and stare at the entrance for the night. As Thunderheart stands, Kittithrine is sleeping with four out of six other cats are sleeping and the other two are stand guarding for the night.
