Chapter 22
Blossomkit's POV:
Blossomkit darted after the leaf, her paws reaching for it as he fluttered just out of reach. "Come back!" She squeaked, her voice echoing around the clearing she played in. "Come back leaf!"
Finally, she caught the leaf. A triumphant grin found its way onto her muzzle and she meowed. "I got you!" She lifted the golden leaf like a trophy.
"Oh Blossom, what a great catch." A she cat purred above her. The little she kit looked up at the cat- a light grey she cat, her eyes pits of emotionless amber. She had a sick grin on her lips, her teeth glinting unnaturally as she grinned down at Blossomkit. "You're going to be the best killer when you grow up."
"What?" Blossomkit muttered, her ears flattening as the she cat stared her down with her unwavering grin.
"That's right, Blossom, you're going to be just like Mummy." The she cat's body started to blur around the edges, her head twitching unnaturally as a strange red liquid suddenly poured from her lips and eyes. Blood! Blossomkit gaped at the she cat. This was her real mother?! How did she not remember her? Why was she coming to her in a dream? Why now?
She was snapped awake when she felt the nest shift under Flowerstream's weight. Blossomkit blinked her eyes open with a small mew of fear, watching as Flowerstream stalked out of the nest with a look of anger on her face. Standing at the tunnel entrance was Tigerstripe, his green eyes piercing through the light grey she cat.
"Get out of here." The queen muttered at the tom.
"Don't you want to welcome your mate back to the clan?" Tigerstripe asked, his whiskers twitching.
"We are not mates. Not after what you did. You murderer!" Flowerstream hissed. "I'll never forgive you for our kits' deaths!"
Tigerstripe rolled his eyes. "You have new kits now."
"They aren't the same, don't you understand?" The she cat replied, her body trembling. "My kits are dead, and it's all your fault."
She had kits before us? Blossomkit blinked. They must've been killed in the battle.. Poor things..
Tigerstripe rested his tail on Flowerstream's back and urged her into him. "I still love you." He murmured.
"Well I don't love you!" Flowerstream snarled, tearing herself away from the tabby.
Tigerstripe's face hardened. "Flowerstream."
"What?"
"If you start hating me, I will make your life unbearable." The tom meowed, his voice deadly serious. "You know very well what extremes I will go to to ensure something I want."
Flowerstream's paws shifted uncomfortably. "You can't hurt me anymore." She glared at her paws, refusing to meet his gaze.
His tail lifted her chin. "Are you sure about that, my dear?"
Flowerstream stayed silent, her body tense as she stared up at the brown tom. Blossomkit heard Stormkit growl, and the little tom muttered. "Leave her alone!"
Tigerstripe snarled at Stormkit. "This doesn't concern you!" He let go of Flowerstream to advance on the kit.
Stormkit squeaked and darted away, out of the den, his tail between his legs.

Stormkit's POV:
Stormkit hared out of the nursery tunnel, looking back to see if Tigerstripe was following. He saw nothing and sighed in relief, gasping when he suddenly ran straight into a cat's legs. He fell backwards with a yelp and flailed his limbs to try and stop his fall. His back hit the ground with a thump and he squeaked, dazed.
Looking up, he saw the cobalt blue eyes of Tyler looking down at him. The winged tom had his tail raised in caution, his ears twitching in surprise. "Stormkit?" He muttered. "What are you doing?"
Stormkit climbed to his paws again. "N-nothing." He stuttered, shaking his pelt. "Just wasn't looking where I was going."
Tyler nudged Stormkit with his tail over to the enforcers, who were gathered around the fresh kill pile. Tyler sat down with Stormkit wriggling on his paws.
"Hey, nice catch Tyler." Strike chuckled, eyeing Stormkit.
"Yes, most impressive." An unusual glint of humour twinkled in Zephyr's eyes.
Stormkit rolled off Tyler. "When I grow up, I'm going to be an enforcer, like you!" He grinned up at Strike.
Stirke chuckled and picked Stormkit up. "Well in order to prove yourself," He padded over to the napping Dime. "You must defeat this lazy furball."
Stormkit was dropped onto Dime's back, who shot up with a drowsy mew of surprise. Stormkit clung onto his fur. "Hey!" He grinned.
Dime sighed and shook Stormkit off. "Who let the kit out?" He laid back down, letting Stormkit prance around.
Stormkit came to a hault under Tyler and pawed up at the huge tom. "Can I see the enforcer den?"
"Hmm.." Tyler rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "I suppose." He picked Stormkit up and carried him into the den, it was well kept and the dens were padded, warm and had feathers woven into them.
Stormkit wriggled free and looked around. "This is much better than the nursery!" He grinned at Tyler, who was curling up in his nest.
Tyler rested his head on his paws and closed his eyes. Stormkit padded over and curled up with the tom, yawning. "Night night, Tyler."
Tyler licked the back of Stormkit's head. "Goodnight Stormkit."
Stormkit smiled as he drifted off into a relaxing sleep.
