Interior of Hyrule Castle {Age of Calamity} (Before the Calamity)

The sun had just started to peek past the horizon of the land of Hyrule. All of the hills in Central Hyrule constantly adjusted the area of the horizon, but it leveled out towards the castle. The bright light of the sunrise illuminated the area in an orange hue.

One singular ray of sunlight came into a room in Hyrule Castle. The light came through the window and pierced through the blinds covering the window from the inside.

Movement could be heard inside of the room. The figure inside of the room walked over to the window. Moving the royal blue curtains to the side by pulling them, the figure took in a deep breath.

The sunlight bounced off of the figure, making their honey-blonde hair shine. Their blue eyes took in the sights around them.

Aria maneuvered a small piece of golden rope over the curtain, securing it in place. She did the same thing on the right side.

Satisfied with her small effort of work, Aria began to put on her Royal Guard uniform. She brushed through the tangles in her hair, removing the morning bed head that she always had.

After briefly thinking of something, Aria shook her head. She didn't know how Link never got a bed head in the morning, especially with how deep he sleeps. He barely even had to brush his hair the next day for it to be considered neat!

The female put her honey-blonde hair into its normal ponytail, putting her hair through a royal blue hair tie. Pulling the hair to secure the hair tie, Aria put on the hat of her Royal Guard Uniform.

She then walked into the bathroom connected to her room in the castle. Aria came out of the room a few minutes later, now wearing her completed Royal Guard Uniform.

Walking towards her windows, she opened them. Aria took in a big breath of the morning air, sighing in content. The young woman leaned up against the railings of the window, standing on the little balcony the room had as an extension. She saw a flock of birds fly overhead.

Since she was on the balcony, Aria did not hear the door to her room open. Fully opening the door, an adult male with brown hair and blue eyes entered the room. He had an air of authority, but it lessened as soon as he entered the room. With his fancy uniform adorned with badges and medals, along with the multitude of scars on his arms and face, it was clear that this man was a decorated and loyal soldier.

The man walked towards the balcony, his boots making a noise as he walked. He saw Aria looking out into the distance, and the man softly smiled.

"What are you doing, Little Blossom?"

Aria looked behind her to see the man walking up to her, leaning on the balcony beside her. She smiled while looking back to the horizon. "Looking at the sunrise. I remember when we did this all of the time, Father. Watching the sun rise over the horizon, making each day feel like a new beginning."

"That was when you were little." Arn replied to his daughter. He mused over how much time has gone by since then. "Even if you're not little anymore, you're always our Little Blossom."

"I always wondered how Mother came up with that nickname." Aria stated, touching a flower petal that had floated by them. "I could never figure it out, though."

"Your mother was really close with Her Late Majesty and Lady Urbosa." Arn told Aria, a wistful smile on his face. He grabbed a necklace on his neck fondly. "To her, you were her little seed who would blossom into a beautiful flower."

"Do you think she would be proud of me?" Aria asked, sighing as a tear ran down her cheek.

Arn wiped the tear from Aria's face. He hugged Aria from the side. "Your mother would be proud of you. Both her and Rune would be ecstatic about what you and Link have accomplished."

Aria nodded as both her and her father heard the bells toll seven times. Arn put his hand on Aria's shoulder. "Come. His Majesty wanted to see us both. Her Highness and Impa are with him."

"Of course, Father." Aria grabbed her Royal Broadsword and put both it and its sheathe around her waist. She then cast a longing glance towards two photos on her nightstand before closing her door behind her. The young woman followed her father towards the throne room.

Today was the day the Hyrulean Army had to defend the castle. They had to prepare...

—————————————————————————————————————————————————

Outskirts of Hyrule Castle {Age of Calamity} (Before the Calamity)

Inside of the barracks of the main Hyrulean Army, a racket of noise could be heard. All of the soldiers, no matter the rank or gender, were putting on their military armor. The members of the Royal Guard, except for Aria and Anthony, were also present. They were waiting for the main Hyrulean Army to put on their armor.

Time was of the essence. No one knew when the monsters would descend upon Hyrule Castle.

"Quickly but effective, men! Time is short!" The leader of the main squadron of knights told their subordinates.

"Of course, sir!"

Link straightened the chest plate of the armor he wore, hit the tips of his toes against the ground, and put the sheath of his sword on his belt. He put his sword in the sheath and walked to where the Royal Guard and his commanding officer were standing. Link, as per usual, was the first knight ready for duty.

"Reporting for duty, sir." Link stood at attention while addressing the commanding officer, a Hylian man with plenty of experience serving the army.

"I appreciate your rigor and dedication, soldier." The commanding officer replied, the helmet on his face shielding the features on his face from view. "Stand by the members of the Royal Guard and follow them if they leave to the castle outskirts. Everyone else will follow you there shortly."

"Understood." Link saluted the officer before walking away. He stopped by the members of the Royal Guard, where the third-highest ranking member noticed him. The person who noticed him was two ranks below Aria, one rank below Anthony, and was the leader of the current regiment of members who were deployed amongst the knights.

"Hey, Link! Ready to defend the castle?" The Royal Guard member asked Link, who had stopped beside that member.

Link nodded in reply, straightening the sword sheath on his waist.

At Link's nod, the commanding Royal Guardsman looked around the barracks. He saw the other members of the main army of knights scrambling to prepare. Glancing at Link, who was already prepared for combat, the Royal Guardsman shook his head. "They take too long to get ready. Every second counts during matters like this. Speaking of which... How did you get ready so fast, Link? That was one of the fastest combat armor preparations I've seen. It was almost as fast as a Royal Guardsman when we prepare, and we've had years of experience."

"I've always been that fast." Link shrugged his shoulders, not seeing how fast someone got ready mattered. It could be a mark of experience, but Link wasn't too sure.

"He is related to the Captain." Another guardsman piped in, adjusting her hat. "Have you seen how fast she gets ready? It probably runs in the family. They come from a long line of Hyrulean Knights, after all."

"...That would make sense. Discipline like that only runs through families. Unless you're professionally trained like Lieutenant Anthony, but that's another situation entirely." The commanding Royal Guardsman put his hand to his chin, quickly nodding afterwards. He then turned around in place, ready to walk out of the room. "We've waited long enough. They'll catch up when they are ready. The leading officer will make sure of that. Royal Guard... FALL IN!"

Most of the knights currently getting ready jumped in fright. They watched as the Royal Guard members, along with one of their own, marched out of the room with discipline and poise.

Link felt the eyes of his peers on his back as he walked in step with the Royal Guard. Whether the eyes were of scorn or pride, Link did not care. All he cared about was defending the castle and its inhabitants from harm. Even if everyone's eyes were filled with burning hatred and loathing for Link's skills and actions, the blond-haired knight would not falter in his sacred duty to the Hyrulean royal family.

'Like Uncle always said... duty comes first. Once all of your required duties are handled, then you can indulge in your hobbies.'

The leading member of the Royal Guard led the people under his command through the halls of Hyrule Castle. They went through the winding halls of the hallowed castle, passing servants, advisors, and other soldiers along the way.

After a few minutes of walking, the leading member of the Royal Guard guided the soldiers to where they would be addressed by King Rhoam of Hyrule. However, once the soldiers entered the castle outskirts, they came across someone they did not expect.

"Sergeant, along with the rest of the Guard..." Anthony nodded to the Royal Guardsmen, crossing his arms. He also gazed to the back of the formation, seeing Link's honey-blond hair. "...And Link as well. The other knights are getting ready I assume?"

"They are, Sir." The sergeant responded to Anthony's statement, all of the soldiers standing at attention in front of the Lieutenant. "Since I did not know when His Majesty and Captain Aria would come and address us all before the battle, I used my judgment to lead those who are ready into the castle outskirts."

"I see." Anthony moved aside, gesturing to the open area behind him. "You know the proper positions for everyone to be in. Get them into the correct positions, Sergeant. I will leave you to it. I will be conducting one last patrol of the castle before getting into my position guarding Her Highness and Impa."

After finishing his statement, Anthony turned around and left the castle outskirts. The sergeant commanded all of the Royal Guardsmen to get into position, as King Rhoam and Aria could come out at any minute. All of the soldiers present did so without any complaints. Now, Link and the Royal Guardsmen only had to wait for the knights.

They didn't have to wait long.

The Knight Commander led the Hyrulean Knights into the outskirts about ten minutes after the Royal Guard and Link got into position. They filed in right behind the Royal Guard, with the commander of the knights standing right beside Link. As a result, Link was in between a Royal Guardsman and his commander.

Trumpets blared over the silence of the castle outskirts. The doors to the top of the castle opened, with three people walking out. The doors closed behind them as the three individuals came to a stop.

King Rhoam was in the middle of the three person line, his royal blue garments illuminated in the sun. His crown glinted as a result of the sun's rays, but he was not deterred.

Arn was to Rhoam's right, but the soldiers down below saw him on the King's left side. He wore the uniform of a Hyrulean Royal Guard member, but the medals and adornments on his outfit signified his higher ranking. To finish off the outfit, Arn also wore a silver sash over his waist, a feature on the uniform that no other member had.

The last of the three individuals was Aria, who stood on King Rhoam's left side. She elected to take off the hat of her uniform, with the hat safely tucked away into one of the numerous pouches on Aria's pants.

"Sir Arn? What's he doing here?" One of the knights replied. The soldier adjacent to him lightly punched his shoulder in exasperation. "He's the King's appointed knight, you dolt! Do you not see the silver sash?"

"Right... my bad."

Aria put two fingers to her mouth and gave off a piercing whistle, ceasing all chatter in an instant.

"Men, ATTENTION!" Aria's voice radiated throughout the castle outskirts. The soldiers did so without complaint.

Aria then nodded to King Rhoam, who began to give his speech to the soldiers about to march into battle.

"Listen well, soldiers of Hyrule... In our long history, we have scarcely faced a threat of this magnitude. The years have passed quickly since Calamity Ganon's returned was prophesied." King Rhoam opened his arms out, his thoughts roaming to the Divine Beasts. "Yes, we have unearthed the Divine Beasts and filled volumes with our knowledge of ancient relics... but a barricade of books will not protect us."

"Coming this way is a horde of monsters in quantities the Hyrulean Army has never faced before." Aria added to the King's statement, delivering the scouting report from the day prior. "The objective of the monsters is the heart of our sacred country... Hyrule Castle itself."

Rhoam took over the speech, moving his left arm around himself. "We must exterminate the monsters roaming Hyrule Field. Thus will begin our renewed effort to stop the Calamity!"

The king unsheathed his Royal Claymore, holding it out in front of him. Arn unsheathed a Royal Broadsword, while Aria unsheathed a Royal Guard's Sword. Both father and daughter held their weapons out as well.

"Here, now, go forth! And be brave for your kingdom!"

All of the soldiers below raised their weapons as well. Most of them gave off a boisterous yell, but Link just rose his Knight's Broadsword in silent determination.

"Make sure no one is left behind! All of you are too important to lose!" Aria yelled, sheathing her sword. "We are stronger in numbers. Every soldier is needed in our efforts to combat the Calamity!"

After Aria concluded her speech, the soldiers gave off one more yell. Her eyes swept over the soldiers below. Catching a glimpse of honey-blond hair, Aria gazed into the blue eyes of her younger brother.

She nodded at Link, and the young knight did the same. Both of their minds went to the same line of thought.

'Hyrule Castle must not fall. It will not fall. We will make sure of that.'

—————————————————————————————————————————————————

Hyrule Field {Age of Calamity} (Before the Calamity)

After King Rhoam's speech concluded, the main Hyrulean Army ventured onto Hyrule Field. They were followed by the Royal Guard, who were evenly dispersed among the knights as a result of an order from Aria and Anthony.

All of the soldiers stood at the entrance to Hyrule Castle, which was now closed.

The Knight Commander, seeing the monsters come over the hill, gave out his orders. "Fire the cannons—now! Blast those monsters off of the plain! Knights, keep the throng at bay while we reload the cannons!"

As soon as the Knight Commander finished his orders, Link ran down the stairs. His broadsword was unsheathed along the way. Link fearlessly charged towards the horde of monsters.

"F-Follow him!" One of the knights yelled, startled at how fast Link charged into the fray. They ran down the stairs while giving off a yell and joining Link in combat. However, the honey-blond haired knight was already a few feet ahead.

Link swung his sword with a grunt, hitting Bokoblins on all sides of him. He spun around using a spin attack, throwing all of the Bokoblins off balance. Link's sword slices into the fleshy bodies of the Red Bokoblins, causing them to flop on the dirt, motionless.

The knights who followed behind Link picked off any stragglers that got up from Link's aggressive fighting style.

Link powered through the small hordes of Bokoblins in his path. Once he got past the second set of pillars leading down from the stairs, the Knight Commander's voice boomed over the field again. "Shut the gate! Prevent their retreat!"

More Bokoblins ran through the gates to Hyrule Field. They also seemed to have a rank system within the monster army, since all of the recent small hordes have been led by a Red Moblin.

However, the monsters could no longer retreat from the impending cannon shots.

"We've got them now! FIRE!"

The cannonballs were fired out of each cannon. They landed in the center of each mini horde, scattering the bodies of all of the monsters with a loud noise. All of the monsters threatening the immediate safety of Hyrule Castle were all vanquished.

King Rhoam stood at the closed doors of Hyrule Castle, overlooking the battle taking place. Arn was to his left, while Aria was to the King's right. Anthony was guarding Impa and Princess Zelda. He told Aria that he could do it on his own with the help of a few elite Royal Guardsmen. Aria's battle prowess was needed on the battlefield, which the blonde-haired captain couldn't deny.

"It seems we have purged the horde from the castle. Well fought, all!" King Rhoam praised the knights. The morale of the knights improved at the praise from their king.

Out of the corner of her eye, Aria saw the color red moving closer to their location. "Knight Commander! To your right!"

The Knight Commander turned to the right. "More foul beasts!? Gah! We mustn't falter! Hold strong!"

The knights closest to the Moblin engaged the small horde it commanded while Link ran over to that location. He eliminated more Bokoblins on his way. The knights who were fighting against the Bokoblins decided to join up with Link and help their comrades.

Once Link ran through the field to where the Moblin was, he immediately saw one of the knights get kicked down by the Moblin. That knight quickly got up, however, and he gave a warning to Link. "These foes are strong. Stay on your guard!"

Link nodded as thanks. He would take the warning into mind as he faced the Moblin.

The Moblin tried to smack its large club up against Link, who dodged the club. Link used his superior speed and agility to confuse the monster and strike its weak points. After a few seconds of trading and dodging blows, Link killed the Moblin with one final sword slash.

"Great job!" One knight said to Link. "Let's use this momentum to take back the outposts."

Link filed that away in the back of his mind. His focus was on making sure all of the monsters did not reach Hyrule Castle. He knew he would have to take the outposts to stop the monster's advances.

Running straight ahead, Link stumbled upon one of the many outposts in Hyrule Field. Instead of the Hyrulean soldiers normally stationed there, Bokoblins ran rampant in the mini outpost.

'Time to take back this outpost...'

Link ran forward, slicing all of the Bokoblins who were unfortunate enough to cross his path. He beat back all of the Bokoblins in the outpost, along with the commanding one enlarged by a purple substance unknown to him.

Back at the doors to Hyrule Castle, one of the Hyrulean Knight Messengers ran to King Rhoam, Arn, and Aria. "Your Majesty! Sir Arn! Captain Aria! The Princess's aide and Lieutenant Anthony have been sighted on the battlefield! They have already secured the outpost near Lon Lon Ranch. Give us the word, and we can escort them to safety."

"No need. They are more than capable of handling themselves." King Rhoam replied to the messenger.

Aria saw the gleam of Anthony's hat shining off of the sun. Quickly calculating the trajectory, Aria turned to the King. "They seem to be heading deep into enemy territory. If I had to guess, Impa and Anthony plan to rendezvous with the small band of knights taking back the outposts on the right side."

"Go." The King told Aria in response. "Join up with the band of knights and take back the rest of the outposts."

Aria quickly bowed before unsheathing her Royal Guard's Sword. "Understood, Your Majesty. It will be done."

The blonde-haired female ran away from the doors to Hyrule Castle, aiming to join up with the band of knights on the right side of the battlefield. She had an inkling on who led those knights, but she couldn't be certain until she got to their location.

'At the rate those knights are going, they're probably being led by Link. Well... more like Link is powering through the enemies while the other knights are simply following along. It doesn't matter how they are doing it. The outposts have to be reclaimed either way.'

Aria ran through the recently reclaimed outpost, and she found all of the other knights guarding the outpost.

"Where is the person who led you?" Aria asked, looking around the outpost.

One of the knights stepped forward. "He went to the outpost directly behind us. He went alone."

"Of course he did..." Aria shook her head in exasperation while muttering to herself. "What am I going to do with that brother of mine?"

Aria continued her statement, but loud enough for the knights to hear. "I'm going to go catch up with Link. You guys stay here and guard this outpost."

"Understood, Captain!"

Satisfied with the response of the knights in front of her, Aria ran through the path behind the group of knights. She had to catch up with her brother. He had no backup to help him fend off the monsters.

He was all alone...

—————————————————————————————————————————————————

Hyrule Field {Age of Calamity} (Before the Calamity)

Link ran ahead of the knights who followed behind him. He muttered to the knights to stay put and guard the outpost. Link also motioned his finger to the ground to convey the same action. The knights responded that they would defend the outpost while Link went on ahead.

Content with the answers of the knights who followed him, Link left the outpost. He ran down the path behind the knights, determined to reclaim the next outpost.

However, Link winced after he entered the next outpost.

He should have brought some backup.

The outpost was swarming with monsters. Even if they were only Bokoblins, they could overwhelm warriors when they have enough numbers.

'Not the smartest thing I've done... I need to be on high alert for ambushes.'

Frequently gazing around him, Link fought the Bokoblins inside of the outpost. He did frequent spin attacks in order to throw the hordes of Bokoblins off of him. Link's stamina was beginning to wear down.

'No matter how many I take down, more seem to appear!' Link thought to himself, gritting his teeth. His chest heaved in a failed effort to catch his breath. 'Without stamina and without help... This is bad...'

One Bokoblin saw that Link was on his last legs. It ran forward with a guttural cry.

"Wha!?" Link sluggishly turned around, eyes filled with exhaustion. He couldn't dodge from the Bokoblin, no matter what he did to try and dodge.

The Bokoblin jumped in the air, aiming to inflict Link with a head wound. However, the Goddesses were on Link's side.

An arrow soared through the air and hit the Bokoblin in the head. The Bokoblin harmlessly fell to the ground in front of Link. It wouldn't move again.

Link looked behind the Bokoblin to see a certain blonde-haired woman.

"Not my brother, you monsters..." Aria said for the whole outpost to hear. She lowered the Royal Guard's Bow in her hand with narrowed eyes. Seeing three other Red Bokoblins coming up to ambush Link, Aria notched three arrows onto the bow. She let go of the bowstring, and all three arrows embedded themselves in the hearts of the Bokoblins.

Aria ran over to Link while putting her bow in the holster on her back. She maneuvered her hand through one of the pouches on her pants. Pulling out a bright green vial, Aria tossed it to Link.

"Drink that. It's a stamina potion." Aria told her brother. She unsheathed the broadsword and dashed forward. "I'll reclaim the outpost! Just regain your energy. We'll need you for the battle ahead!"

Link nodded while popping the cork off of the vial in his hand. He drank the green stamina potion in the vial, grimacing at the bitter taste of the revitalizing potion.

After a few seconds of ingesting the green liquid, Link felt his stamina returning back to him. He tossed the vial aside while gripping his own broadsword. He joined his sister in reclaiming the outpost.

Together, the brother and sister duo were a force of nature on the battlefield. Almost nothing could stand in their way.

With the combined efforts of the siblings, the outpost was quickly recaptured. The knights there split off into two factions. One of the factions would stay and guard the outpost, while the other faction would reclaim another outpost further south.

Once Aria made sure her brother was okay to continue, the siblings decided to make their way further south.

However, they came across something peculiar...

Link and Aria noticed Goddess Butterflies flying past them. When they looked to see where the Goddess Butterflies were flying, they both saw a small Guardian the color of snow.

"What is that?" Link asked, sheathing his broadsword. Aria did the same while shrugging her shoulders. "I have no idea."

They walked over to the Guardian to get a closer look. The butterflies were all over the Guardian, but it was not a concern to the siblings.

When they were about to crouch down and get a closer look, the ground shook underneath their feet. Hearing the voices of Bokoblins, Aria and Link turned to where the voices of the monsters came from.

Anthony and a woman a few years younger than Aria were running away from the Bokoblins. The woman had long, white hair, brown eyes, and was wearing the garb of a member of the Sheikah tribe. She also had something small in her arms, but the way she gripped it gave off the impression that the object was valuable.

"Impa! Anthony!" Aria yelled, seeing the two run towards her and Link. She knew that Anthony and Impa could defend themselves, but they did not want to leave the small item in Impa's hand defenseless.

"Help!" Impa yelled towards the two while changing her running path. She tripped over a few rocks along the way, causing her to start to fall. "Woah!"

The object she was holding flew up into the air. Anthony steadied Impa while Link ran to catch the small item.

While soaring through the air, the small item, which seemed to be a tablet of some sort, powered on with a noise. The small Guardian by Aria's feet turned on as well, causing Aria to stumble back in surprise. "Ah! This small robot just turned on! What's going on here!?"

Link caught the slate in his right hand while standing in front of Anthony and Impa. Aria joined her brother in front of the two, but everyone had to brace themselves when a tremor shook the ground.

"What's going on!?" Anthony gasped.

"I wish I knew, Lieutenant!" Aria responded. She and Link steadied each other while Anthony and Impa were safe on the ground.

"Huh!? Why is this happening?" Impa asked, looking around frantically. No one had an answer to Impa's statement.

Link and Aria elected to crouch closer to the ground in an effort to stay upright. It seemed to be working for them, since the tremors were just getting stronger.

The small Guardian began to move, but no one paid attention to that. Everyone paid attention to the tower erupting from the ground, towering over the three Hylians and the one Sheikah.

All of them got up once the tremors subsided. Everyone looked up at the new structure in front of them.

"It's... a tower?" Impa said out loud, trying to comprehend what just happened.

Link and Aria turned around. They saw the small Guardian looking up at the tower with its big, blue eye.

"When did that robot even move!?" Aria yelled in confusion.

Link shrugged his shoulders in response. His eyes were focused on the small robot. It looked around the area, giving off small and curious noises along the way. The robot caught everyone's attention, but Link seemed to have a small draw to it.

Bokoblins ruined the moment by giving off their signature, obnoxious noises.

Impa's eyes trailed to the small robot, who seemed to be following Link. "What is THAT? Both the tower and the robot. Focus, Impa... we must deal with these enemies."

While the four warriors eliminated some enemies, they engaged in a bit of small talk.

"You there beside Aria—thanks for the help." Impa told Link while slicing enemies with her kodachis.

Link and Aria swung their broadswords, and Aria talked to Impa. "The person beside me is Link. He's my younger brother."

"I see. With how you both work in tandem, the bond is clear." Impa hummed. "Now, let's carve our way out."

They sliced and stabbed through the horde of Bokoblins blocking their way. Going forward a few more feet, Impa noticed something peculiar about the small object in Link's hand. "And now what's that!? Link, the Sheikah Slate in your hands... It's been activated! Purah said the slate might have powers to help our fight!"

"So that thing you've been carrying around has had a name this whole time!?" Anthony gave off a noise in frustration, thrusting a Bokoblin in the heart with his Royal Guard's Spear. "Let's just finish this fight already."

Aria, Link, Impa, and Anthony plowed through all of the Bokoblins in their path. Aria and Link momentarily split off from Anthony and Impa to reclaim an outpost. However, they rejoined with the others quickly after that.

They were unaware of Rhoam and Arn seeing the tower at the location where they once were. The King of Hyrule dispatched soldiers to investigate the sight while his troops were battling.

Impa and the others reclaimed the southernmost outpost on the battlefield, causing the monsters to retreat from there. However, they only had a brief reprieve from the fighting.

"Captain! A troop of Moblins has appeared!" One of the Royal Guardsmen told Aria.

"That IS bad. But somehow, we must find a way to stop them." Impa muttered to herself as the four warriors advanced once again.

They got another report detailing that a Fire Wizzrobe was near the castle. Impa took it upon herself to eliminate the Wizzrobe before it became a problem. Anthony accompanied her in that endeavor. All of them agreed that they would meet up at the southeast outpost to take down the Moblins together.

Aria and Link traversed the field together, saving any Hyrulean soldiers and outposts they came across while on the way to defeating the Moblins. They came across another Fire Wizzrobe.

Aria weakened the Fire Wizzrobe with arrows from her bow while Link dealt damage with his broadsword. The two siblings defeated the Fire Wizzrobe after enough damage.

Link and Aria ventured throughout the southern part of Hyrule Field. They met up with Anthony and Impa along the way, and they all elected to capture the southeast outpost together. They want as a group, making sure no one out of the small force of elite warriors was left behind.

Soon enough, the four warriors arrived at the last outpost they needed to reconquer. With all of them there, it went down in a matter of seconds.

Having the momentum, the four warriors decided to regroup.

"There are three Moblins, but there are four of us." Impa said, looking out of the outpost to see the Moblins.

"Link and I can take one." Aria responded, gesturing to herself and Link. "Are the both of you comfortable with taking on one each?"

"I'm fine with that, Captain Aria." Anthony replied while slamming the bottom of his spear into the ground. He lifted it up shortly afterwards to reconfigure his grip on the weapon.

"We have our plan, then. Let's move!" Impa yelled.

All four elite warriors ran out of the outpost to where the Moblins were. Each of them took on their respective targets.

Impa made clones out of herself using ancient Sheikah arts. The clones overwhelmed the Moblin while leaving Impa plenty of room to slice and dice the Moblin with her Kodachis.

Anthony used the superior reach of his weapon to keep his distance from the Moblin. He stabbed the Moblin in all of its critical points, making his fight not much of a struggle.

Aria and Link ran over to their Moblin, but they had to quickly dodge a Blue Bokoblin that the Moblin decided to throw at them. However, throwing the Bokoblin left the Moblin wide open. The sibling duo quickly made work of the last Moblin.

Back at the castle, everyone saw the monsters retreating.

"Look! We did it! The monsters are retreating!" One of the soldiers yelled in triumph.

"Savor your victory, everyone!" Arn told the soldiers before King Rhoam tapped him on the shoulder. "Yes, Your Majesty?"

"That young knight, your son, served his kingdom well. Perhaps an official appointment is in order..."

—————————————————————————————————————————————————

And so the fight against the Calamity begins...

If you noticed in this chapter, Link spoke. I have a reason for that...

In this fic, Link will not be the silent protagonist that everyone has come to know.

In Breath of the Wild, the main reason why Link stayed silent was as a result of the burdens placed upon him when he wielded the Master Sword. In Age of Calamity, however, Link does not have those burdens at the start of the game. As a result, him being silent does not make a lot of sense.

He is still kind of soft-spoken however, so he won't be the most extroverted person in conversations.

Now... onto the contents of the chapter.

The Hyrulean Army held off the monsters at Hyrule Field.

Link, Aria, Anthony, and Impa worked together to clear out most of the forces. King Rhoam saw the efforts of Link in that battle, so some rewards must be coming towards Link soon.

I referenced a few characters in this chapter. Some of them were by name (like Urbosa), while others were in the behaviors of a character.

The Royal Guard's Bow does not normally fire three arrows off at once. Aria picked that skill up off of someone else...

I wonder if you all can guess who it is?

Next chapter will be where Link meets up with the Princess of Hyrule, along with the party trying to find out the purpose of the little robot following Link around.

Hope to see you next chapter!
