Chapter 3

"Worthless girl!"

"Father! Please, no!" the twelve-year-old girl screamed at her father.

However, her father didn't listen. He brought a wooden cane and smacked it into the back of the girl, causing her to shriek.

"I'm sorry," the girl cried.

"Sorry isn't enough!" her father brought the cane for another round.

"Please dad, I'll cook better next time."

"She's so little. She'll make mistakes at her age. But she'll learn quickly," her mother interrupted.

"You don't understand! She never will! She doesn't want to marry anyone. She has all that crap about an independent life in her mind," her father turned to the girl, "Lousia do you think you are worthy of even earning a single Sigon?"

"What do you know about earning? You are just a petty farmer. You want me to get married to a rich family so you can get some money as well," Lousia shouted back. "Because you don't know how to earn money!"

Her father froze at the remark. He glared at Lousia for a minute and then rage shot out of him. He tightened the grip on his cane and hit Lousia everywhere. By the time he was done, Lousia's face was covered in blood. Blood was even gushing out through her tattered clothes on the back. His hands and legs too were red as well.

Her father gave Lousia a kick on her gut and then walked inside the hut, dragging Lousia's mother with him.

"You'll sleep outside today," her father said, closing the door.

Lousia succumbed to tears. Placing her hands to her eyes, she wept uncontrollably for hours.

When the crying finally stopped, she got up a little and sat down with her back to a tree, recalling all the incidents that happened. However, she didn't cry this time on recalling those incidents. She was done crying.

Rage replaced sadness this time. She had lived as a scared and weak girl for so long. However, at that moment, she declared to herself that she was done getting scared.

The cane was still outside the house. Grabbing it, she used all her strength to get up. Every inch of her body hurt at the pain. But she didn't give up.

Finally getting up, she raised the cane in the air and smashed through the wooden door of her hut with it. His father turned back in shock upon seeing the door break.

"You! What have you done!" he shouted.

However, Lousia was done being scared of her father. She walked to her father and gave him a blow with the cane.

"What is going on!" her mother came rushing.

"I don't fear a dirty pig like you," Lousia yelled.

"Enough!" her father grabbed the cane and snatched it. He kicked Lousia and she fell down to the ground after hitting a table.

A knife fell down from the table and dropped next to her. Consumed by her fury, she grabbed it and charged at her father who was too shocked to even react. Lousia stabbed his father on gut with the dagger. It wasn't enough to kill him but certainly enough to make him fall down and howl in pain.

"Lousia!" her mother screamed.

Dropping the knife, Lousia bolted out of the hut, never looking back.

Lamitan was famous for its magnificent buildings. The beautiful city of Lamitan followed a pattern of red and white buildings and well-maintained stone paths connecting them. Passing through the city, Lousia noticed many beautiful temples paying tribute to goddess Lamika. Even though everyone knew Lamika was not a real diety, people still had prayed to Lamika for strength. Every kingdom had come up with their own gods and its citizens were taught to respect their god. It was only a mere way to tie every citizen into unity through a common belief.

"Another Siligon Warrior. I wonder what trouble they are up to now," a guard snickered at Lousia as she passed. Long ago, the land of Siligon had learned their lesson to never interfere in the business of a Siligon Warrior. Sometimes, Siligon Warriors had worked in favour of the king. Other times, they had worked against them. It all got neutral in the end.

Lousia entered inside a tavern and walked to the owner there.

"Oh, thank god you are here!" the owner's face lit up in joy as soon as he studied the Siligon Warrior.

Hidden behind the cuts was the face of a beautiful lady with fair skin. Her hairs were red and free-flowing. The fightings she did every day had given her a slim body which she covered with a short leather dress having a metal plate in middle. She also wore combat boots.

"You had trouble with some thugs, aye?" Lousia asked.

"Yes, I did. They enter here every day and drink whatever they want. Then they refuse to pay. They also harass my waitress," he explained.

"Worry no more. I'll put them back to their line," Lousia smiled.

She casually slumped down on a chair in the tavern, placing her boots on the table and drinking from a mug.

A while later, a group of ten thugs walked inside the tavern. They pushed aside everyone on their way to the owner of the tavern.

"Where are our mugs of beer?" the leader of the thugs demanded. He had messy hairs and ugly yellow teeth.

The owner passed a look at Lousia. She got up and joined them.

"I think paying for the beer will be a lot cheaper than the coins you will spend fixing your bones," Lousia said. The owner laughed at the insult.

"Oi, a female Siligon Warrior. Your little powers won't save you this time," the leader of thugs pulled out his dagger.

"Want to bet?" Lousia drew out her sword. It changed into a bow. She also had a quiver full of arrows hanging from her back.

"You think a pretty little girl like you can kill me? Even with your magic?" the leader of the thugs laughed.

"Never underestimate me," Lousia shot the arrow at one of the thugs. The poisoned tip of the arrow killed the thug within seconds.

Before the others could react, she loaded her bow with another arrow in just a flash of seconds and shot it at another one.

"What are you standing there for? Kill her!" the leader shouted.

Everyone else inside the tavern fled away and the owner ducked behind a table as soon as the fight began.

Lousia backflipped out of the way as one of the thugs charged at her and shot him with an arrow. The others charged at her but Lousia dived out of way, reloading her bow and shooting another thug in midair.

Lousia's quickness and archery combination made her undefeatable. Before anyone could charge at her she would get out of way and shoot him with an arrow. Only one thug had managed to give Lousia a cut with his dagger, something which needed to be done more than around twenty times to take down a Siligon Warrior.

Finally, only the leader of thugs and one of his companion remained standing.

"Bring the others!" the leader shouted at the remaining one thug. The man obeyed and scampered away from the tavern. Lousia made no effort in stopping him. Instead, she charged at the leader.

Jumping up in the air, Lousia locked her thighs around the neck of the leader and twisted them for a perfect neckbreaker move which made the leader get a taste of the dirty floor of the tavern. Lousia wasn't done with him yet though. She delivered more kicks to the thug leader everywhere.

However, she was interrupted by the sound of heavy footsteps. She turned back and saw thirty more thugs arrive inside the tavern.

"I see you want your entire party to die," Lousia smiled at the leader.

As the thugs ran to her, Lousia concentrated hard. When she did, sharp tiny daggers with poison tips started emerging from both her hands. They tore through her skin, giving a pain that even Siligon Warriors couldn't bear easily. However, pain had been Lousia's companion since childhood.

Within seconds, more than a hundred sharp daggers erupted from her skin, aiming at the advancing army of thugs.

The daggers flew at the thugs, tearing through their flesh and finishing the entire army within seconds.

"No!" the leader of thugs choked in pain.

"So what are you willing to say now?" Lousia turned to the leader.

The leader took out 5 pouches full of Sigons from her pocket and handed them to Lousia.

"Good boy," Lousia gave another kick to the leader, making him pass out.

"That was amazing! Thank you so much!" the owner cried in delight.

"It's alright. Here's your money," Lousia tossed him the pouches.

The owner tossed two of them back to her. "They are yours. Thanks for the help!"

It was only in the evening that Lousia managed to complete all her jobs. However, when she returned back to the camp, exhausted, she found the entire camp empty. As she studied the camp in confusion, she spotted a Siligon Warrior come out of his tent.

"Where are you going? And where is everyone?" Lousia asked.

"Everyone is at the meeting place. I'm going there too. Gabriel has finally fallen. And Kraigan has one more news to share with us."

Hello readers, hope you liked the chapter. The next two chapters will feature the story of Kraigan and Godag. Which one will you like me to write first?

All these chapters will take place in the same time and explain what the others were doing while Kraigan and Gabriel were fighting that army.
