The two cats took a seat under the shade. Minky gave Jackaldusk an uneasy glance, but Jackaldusk nodded in encouragement. "I'm listening."

"It isn't going to be interesting or anything..." Minky muttered, kicking dirt nervously. "I was a housecat before becoming a rogue. My housefolks were a nice bunch..."

"So it means something must've happened to them, right? There isn't any reason to abandon such a life with comfort and security," Jackaldusk concluded thoughtfully, his whiskers twitching.

"Young Twoleg kits would usually come visit my housefolks. They are old, but they have plenty of stories to share," Minky continued, her eyes downcast with sadness.

"Just like our elders. Elders are retired warriors in our Clan. They play a rather large role in our Clan - telling stories to kits," the PeakClan deputy purred fondly. "I guess Twolegs are more like us than we originally realised."

Shrugging, Minky continued speaking. "I remember they would always say something at the end of their stories - Quod si vivere in acceptione de rejectione moriemini," Minky recalled, flicking an ear. "It took me a while, but I managed to translate a bit of the meaning to - if you... for acceptance, you will... from..."

"What is that tongue? I don't recognise it at all," Jackaldusk meowed, tilting his head in confusion.

"I think my housefolks called it 'Latin'," the brown tabby she-cat replied. "One day, I noticed that my housefolks did not come out to greet me like they usually did."

Jackaldusk frowned, nodding for her to continue. Minky curled her tail towards her paws tightly, her eyes brimming with tears. "Their kin came by one day, and I think they said something happened to my housefolk. For a few days, they were moving around the house, moving things..."

Jackaldusk raise an eyebrow, tensing. "And that was when you became a rogue, wasn't it?"

Minky nodded, sighing. "They brought in three large dogs and kicked me out of the house."

The russet tabby was taken aback by the revelation. "I'm sorry you had to go through what you did."

"It's not your fault," Minky shook her head. "Right now, I just want to find a home..."

» Break down crying.

» Stay silent, reliving thoughts of that fateful day.

I apologise for not updating for a few weeks. I was busy with my exams, but next week will be less packed for me. Hopefully, I can still keep this going. Hope you enjoy!

What did you think about Minky's past as a kittypet? Without using google translate, what do you think the Latin phrase mean?
