A/N: I do not own the Warriors series. The Erin Hunter authors have all of the rights to the series. I also don't own Yellowfang.

Gray clouds thundered near the ground. A cool breeze roamed over the StormClan territory. Being surrounded by rain clouds, the territory had a cooler air at moonrise.

The low puffy clouds parted as a dark gray she-cat walked through them.
Appearing out of the same gray clouds, a ginger she-cat called after her, "Wait!"

The departing cat paused in her pawsteps.

"What is it, Redpaw?" she asked, flicking her tail while facing the ginger she-cat.

"Yellowfang, you said something about a prophecy. What prophecy do you mean?" questioned Redpaw, the ginger she-cat who had run after the crabby medicine cat.

"The prophecy," Yellowfang grumbled straightforwardly, "is to be heard by your own ears in the waking world. You will find the cat who has been given it, but it will be during a Gathering. They will tell you what it is."

"But why can't I hear it now?" complained the ginger apprentice, who was becoming more impatient as the night drew on.

"You'll find out soon enough." Yellowfang rasped. The dark gray medicine cat wandered off into the forest, leaving Redpaw to wonder about the elder's prophecy.

An elder? What elder? We don't have any elders in our Clan. If she says I'll be told of it during a Gathering, it must be an elder from another Clan! But why a different Clan than my own?

Can I trust another cat from another Clan? I haven't met any from other Clans yet. I've only just become an apprentice last night! Oh, StarClan, please help me through this mess!

A/N: What do you think so far? Can you guys please give me feedback? It's my first try on a Warriors fanfiction, so it might need some work.

Update: May 8, 2014: I fixed the Prologue according to the original format in my journal. It was originally supposed to be an elder who is given the prophecy, not the main character. I wanted to be original and not have a medicine cat, warrior, or apprentice get the prophecy. Sorry if you have already read the older version.

Update: October 19, 2015: Edited the name of the medicine cat; it is now Yellowfang instead of Spottedleaf because I had previously not read the Omen of the Stars series, but now that I have, I had to change the name...because...reasons. :P
