Chapter Two

When dawn came Moonpaw and Tigerpaw awoken in the apprentices' den. All the others were still deep in a slumber. Moonpaw couldn't help but look at Badgerpaw. The the white apprentice with a black stipe going down his long, muscular body was still sound asleep. His body slowly going up and down, a sign of life. She secretly mourned to have Badgerpaw notice her in a way without them fighting or arguing like a bunch of mouse-brained kits. "Moonpaw? Tigerpaw? Are you awake." Fireheart quietly mewed into the den.

The she-cat stalked out of the den with Tigerpaw slowly following. The apprentices stretched and yawn before looking for their mentors. "What are we gonna do today?" Moonpaw meowed to her mentor, Fireheart, who was sharing tongues with Tigerpaw's mentor, Frosttail. "We are going to go around the territory, and if we hurry we might have a quick hunting lesson afterwards." Moonpaw purred, "Sounds fun and we can do it together!" The silver she-cat nudged Tigerpaw. "No, you must learn how to separate. We will both go different ways, then meet in the Sandy Hollow if we can." Frosttail stated in an icy voice.
No wonder she got Frost as her name...
Moonpaw dipped her head to the pure white she-cat. "Moonpaw and I will go to the RiverClan side first." Fireheart suggested to Frosttail. "Sounds fine with me!" Frosttail mewed in reply. The warrior didn't seem so icy when talking to Fireheart.
Fire must really melt ice. "Ok well, we'll see you later." Firestar said to Frosttail. The two apprentices said their goodbyes to each other, even though it wasn't going to be a long time it just felt like it.

As the two cats came cowards the RiverClan border Moonpaw heard the sound of rushing water and smelt the scent of fish. "Whoa! Look at it. I've never seen the river before." Moonpaw meowed her blue eyes full of excitement. "Do you smell that?" Fireheart asked his apprentice. "Is that another Clan? RiverClan?" "Yes. What else?" The ginger tom asked again. "I know there's some warriors heading this way. And alot!" Moonpaw yowled as a patrol of RiverClan warriors came towards the ThunderClan cats. "We're under attack!" Fireheart yowled. "Moonpaw, run to camp to tell the others, then stay there!" Fireheart ordered. Moonpaw nodded and ran off as fast as her legs could carry her.
This is not what I expected at all...
