Tigerpaw and Moonpaw were sharing a piece of fresh-kill when the patrol returned...carrying a body. Many Clan cats gasped the name of the she-cat at the sight of her. "Moonstorm!" One-ear an gray she-cat elder yowled in sorrow at the sight of her grandkit, "Oh, StarClan! Why? Why did you have to take her?!!" She continued. Lepordclaw and Stoneface rushed to the elder to comfort her.

Badgerpaw padded up to the group and looked at One-ear, "It is alright I have avenged Moonstorm." He said. Now that Tigerpaw got a good look at Badgerpaw his paws had blood on them and so did Fireheart's. Suddenly Leafface and Barkpaw, the medicine cat duo, rushed towards the patrol cats with herbs stuffed in their muzzles. Leafface a beauty full turtleshell she-cat beckoned for Fireheart to come to her. "I wish we were there! Then we would have seen all the action!" Moonpaw mewed to Tigerpaw who rolled his eyes at his littermate, "Sure, send out two apprentices with absolutely no training whatsoever." He meowed.

Sunstar appeared from his den and rushed to the side of One-ear and Stoneface. "Moonstorm...no." He mumbled before he pressed his nose against Moonstorm's fur. "Don't be such a grumpy elder!" Moonpaw scolded her brother before going towards her mentor. Suddenly Frosttail appeared beside the tabby apprentice, "Are you upset because you didn't see the patrol?" She mewed as she sat down. "Kind of, I just wish I could have at least got a glimpse of the RiverClan patrol like Moonpaw did." Tigerpaw confessed to his mentor. "If it makes you feel better I missed out too." The brown tabby noticed that Frosttail wasn't being as cold as ice, like she usually was, she was more like water. "How about I make it up to you by doing warrior training tomorrow? How does that sound?"

"Thank you." Tigerpaw meowed silently dipping his head.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather underneath the Clan rock!" Sunstar yowled to the Clan. Foxpaw, Badgerpaw, and Eaglepaw already stood underneath the rock whispering to each other. Cats crawled out from their dens slowly padding up to the rock. "They must be becoming warriors this evening." Tigerpaw heard Leopardclaw mummer to Frosttail and Fireheart. The two nodded in agreement. "ThunderClan I regret to inform you that our beloved Moonstorm was killed in the battle against RiverClan." Many let out gasp and wails of pain, "So let us give her a moment of silence." The Clan cats lowered their head as they mourned silently even Goldenstream mourned for the she-cat that stole Sunstar, her littermate, from her. "Now... I have one bit of exciting news for the Clan. Badgerpaw, Foxpaw, and Eaglepaw are becoming warriors this evening." The Clan let out cheers for the trio who will leave the apprentice den. "Badgerpaw, come." Sunstar mewed to the apprentice. Badgerpaw quickly made it up the clan rock and stopped in front of the leader. "Badgerpaw you have showed the clan strength even when the saddest things have happened," Sunstar glanced off to where Moonstorm's body laid and back to the apprentice, " you have shown us courage and loyalty and from this point on you will be known has Badgerclaw, because your claws are what avenged my mate." Sunstar then to her noses with Badgerclaw an then beckoned to Foxpaw to come forward. The reddish-orange apprentice slowly padded up the rock. "Foxpaw, you have shown the clan kindness and compassion when we were down, you only use your strength when needed. And I know you will become a great queen one day. From this moment forward you will be known as Foxpelt because of your silky pelt. Sunstar then touched noses with Foxpelt and then beckoned for Eaglepaw to come forward. The shy golden she-cat made her way up quickly. "Eaglepaw you have shown the clan speed, agility and bravery. From this moment forward you will be known as Eagleflight." Sunstar touched noses with Eagleflight then she quickly jumped down. "Badgerclaw! Foxpelt! Eagleflight!" The clan cats cheered. "Now the new warriors will watch over the clan camp while taking the vow of silence. And so will the ones who will be staying with Moonstorm for her last night before the elders barry her." The golden tabby leader then jumped off the Clan Rock and laid next to Moonstorm's dead body.

Tigerpaw stared at the ThunderClan leader as Stoneface, One-ear and Goldenstream went to join him. "Isn't this exciting?!? We get the whole den to ourselves!!" Tigerpaw recognized his littermate's mew. "No we don't." He retorted looking at Moonpaw as if she was insane."What are you talking about?" Moonpaw said before grooming herself real quick. "Wolfpaw, she's still a apprentice remember?" Both looked back at the den where the quiet gray she-cat sat starring at all the others.

Moonpaw then took off towards the fellow apprentice. "Moonpaw! No!" Tigerpaw yowled after her.
