Chapter 22
Flamefur's POV:
Flamefur cowered in a tree, watching as the crashing waves below her began to sink. She felt a glimmer of hope blossom within her as she saw the water slowly making it's way back to the ocean where it belonged. The water is leaving! We will be able to return to camp now. She suppressed a small sigh as she glanced around her, seeing her clanmates hiding in the trees around her. She was no longer a rogue, Starclan had announced that she was a Lightclan warrior once more. And Tigerstripe wasn't the deputy either. Flamefur was so relieved that Skystar had intervened the fight, saving her life and creating peace in the clan once again.
It was surprising that Autumnpool had been chosen as the new Lightclan deputy. Flamefur would never have thought of picking the quiet amber coloured she cat as second in command. Personally, Flamefur would've chosen a cat like Blackleap or Blizzardstorm. A brave, strong and sharp cat who was also young enough to out-live the leader. Autumnpool seemed too soft for the deputy rank, but it was Starclan's choice. They must've known what they were doing when they chose her.
She pricked her ears when she heard voices behind her. She pricked her ears and turned to look over her shoulder. Her amber gaze scanned the trees behind her, seeing nothing out of the ordinary. She swore she had heard voices. Where did they go? Was Strike messing with her?
Baring her teeth slightly, Flamefur glanced back down at the water and smiled quietly when she saw it was nearly gone. She swung onto the bark of the tree and began climbing down, landing with a thud on the ground. Everything was coated in soaking wet foliage and she flinched when a fish wiggled beside her, trapped in some leaves. She dipped her head down and sank her fangs into the writhing fish, killing it swiftly. Flamefur picked up her prey from the leaves and began carefully picking her way back to camp.

Silvershy's POV:
"Is the coast clear?" Tornwing called up from further down the tree.
Silvershy narrowed her eyes against the early morning sunlight and replied. "I think so." She stared at the sea before her, a grim frown on her face. The silver she cat crouched on a high branch of the tree they were hiding in, overlooking the sea. The water had turned a dull brown colour and she wrinkled her nose at the unpleasant sight. The sea used to be a beacon of beauty. The huge wave had changed that image drastically.
Silvershy climbed back down again so that she was nearer to Tornwing. "Let's head back down." The rogue meowed. "The water is disappearing."
"Great. We should be able to make it back to the clan now." Silvershy meowed, climbing down the tree after Tornwing.
The two she cats made it down safely and Silvershy landed in a soft pile of drenched leaves. She shook out her paws, spraying water everywhere. Tornwing chuckled slightly as she was hit by the water droplets. Silvershy grinned softly and turned to start walking back to camp, pausing in surprise when she saw a large pink paw sticking out from a cluster of twigs and leaves.
Carefully, Silvershy edged closer to the pale pink paw. She sniffed it- identifying it as a twoleg's paw- and began following the paw down the leg and to the head. It was a female twoleg, her long brown fur around her head tangled in the mess around them. Blood was splattered on the twoleg's face, trailing down her neck. Silvershy was about to announce the twoleg as dead when suddenly it moved. She leapt away with a small mew of surprise and stared at the twoleg as it slowly sat up, rubbing a paw against it's bleeding head.
The twoleg turned slightly, wincing, and faced Silvershy. The silver she cat stayed perfectly still as the twoleg reached her paw out and stroked her behind the ears briefly, muttering something Silvershy didn't understand. Tornwing crouched behind a tree, staring at Silvershy and the twoleg with wide eyes. Then the twoleg slowly rose to its paws and began limping away, heading in the opposite direction of the sea and further towards twolegplace.
Silvershy unfroze from her trance as Tornwing emerged. "Oh my Starclan, Silvershy. You are so brave. You let that twoleg touch you!"
Silvershy chuckled nervously. "I was just frozen in terror. I didn't realise the twoleg was still alive."
"I wonder what it was doing here before the wave..." Tornwing wondered as she began walking to camp.
"I don't know, but what I do know is that we weren't the only ones affected by the wave. Every living being in this area suffered today." Silvershy meowed, glancing over to see the body of a dog nearby. Around the neck of the dog was a bright pink collar with the word Lucky imprinted on it.
