Chapter 21: Special Chapter part 4!

Flowerstream's POV:

Her heart pounded in her chest as water filled her mouth and pooled in her lungs. "H-help me please!" She spluttered, just as her head went underwater. The murky darkness surrounded Flowerstream as she flailed her paws to try and reach the surface. Her lungs burned for air and she fought to break through the water but she couldn't find the way up. She was so disorientated.

Suddenly, warm fur was pressed against her and she felt firm jaws in her scruff, pulling her up. Her head broke the surface and she gasped for air, glancing behind her shoulder to see Tigerstripe tugging her through the water. Her heart skipped a beat. The tom who had captured her heart all those moons ago was actually risking his life to saving her. Does this mean he likes me too? She couldn't help the thoughts rushing to her mind as Tigerstripe literally carried her through the raging water and towards a tree.

Tigerstripe latched onto the bark of the tree and pulled them up. Flowerstream dug her own claws into the tree, her soaking wet fur brushing against his as she was released from his grip on her scruff. Tigerstripe climbed onto the nearest branch, sitting calmly as he waited for her to sit beside him. Flowerstream made it on the branch as well, fighting to catch her breath. "Thank you so much Tigerstripe. You saved my life." She wheezed, ducking her head slightly as her laboured breathing slowly calmed.

A warm tongue rasped over her head and Tigerstripe rumbled. "I couldn't just watch a clan mate die. Especially you."

Flowerstream's heart was warmed by the tom's soft words. He may seem rude and uncaring at times, but in truth he was just like every other cat. She purred softly and leaned into Tigerstripe. He didn't purr in return nor did his frown waver, but Flowerstream saw the way his green eyes flickered with emotion. He was trying to hide it. Why? Did he not want to be seen as a caring cat? Did he think of it as a weakness?

Flowerstream chose not to ponder on her thoughts and instead cherished their time together, watching the crashing water below them and wondering who had lost their lives to the murky depths.

Metalclaw's POV:

Metalclaw watched the flooded Lightclan camp from a branch in a tree. Strike was beside him, light chuckles emitting from the dark furred tom. "Isn't this wonderful?" He smirked, flicking his long red-tipped tail.

Metalclaw glanced at Strike with a slight sigh. "Uh.. Sure." He didn't want to end up in NoName's bad books, so he made sure not to give her brother a reason to report him. He wasn't even supposed to be there in the first place, but Strike had promised not to utter a word.

"Why don't we take this opportunity to kill off a few cats?" Strike asked. "I'm itching for a kill."

Metalclaw shook his head nervously. "I would prefer not to..." He flinched when Strike sent him a fierce glare and added, "But yes, let's do it."

Strike grinned and spread out his large wings. "Hold on tight!" He leapt from the branch, swooping down before flying back up to wrap his paws around Metalclaw's body. Metalclaw stayed perfectly still, fearing for his life as he was swept off the branch and into the air. "Ugh, you're heavy. What did you eat this morning?" Strike grunted as they jolted in the air.

"We're Dark Forest cats. We don't eat." Metalclaw stated with a slight growl as Strike nearly flew straight into a tree.

Strike chuckled and put Metalclaw back down on a different tree. "How about her?" He grinned as he pointed at Flamefur, who was crouching in a tree, alone.

"No!" Metalclaw hissed, unsheathing his claws. "Stay away from her!"

"Okay, okay." Strike rolled his red eyes, a slight grin on his lips. "Calm down I was only joking."

Metalclaw bit his lip, ignoring Strike as he stared at Flamefur. She was so alone and troubled with him. He had seen all the mess she had gotten herself into while he had been gone and he hated the fact that he couldn't help her. Metalclaw couldn't live like this much longer. Sooner or later he'd have to break NoName's rule and return to Flamefur but then he'd be killed.

"Hey look, the water is leaving." Strike piped up, jolting Metalclaw from his dark thoughts.
