Chapter 19: Special Chapter part 2!

Watersplash's POV:

Watersplash felt herself being brought back into consciousness by a heavy rumbling noise. She coughed and shifted herself underneath the dirt that had fallen on them after the medicine den caved in during the ground shook.

The grey she cat struggled to her paws, her pelt coated in dust and soil. She looked around what was left of the cave, sunlight now streaming through the gaping hole that had been made. She spotted Shinewing laying limp under a blanket of soil. She climbed over to the golden she cat just as she woke up. Shinewing wheezed and rolled onto her other side, letting the dirt slide off her pelt. She climbed to her paws, her amber gaze dull. Watersplash helped her apprentice up and together, the two looked for Darkfeather.

The faint rumbling grew louder and Watersplash narrowed her eyes, pausing. "What is that?" She wondered, looking up at the blue sky above her head. The ground wasn't shaking as violently anymore, but it still trembled slightly. Was something else on its way?

Suddenly, a wave of dark coloured water roared over the hole and down inside the medicine cave. Watersplash let out a shocked yowl and dived for cover but the water engulfed them in a second. The blue-brown liquid swallowed them up in a matter of heartbeats and Watersplash barely had time to suck in a breath of air before her head went underwater. Her thick fur quickly dragged her down and Watersplash flailed her legs wildly to reach the surface.

Watersplash turned slightly to see Shinewing struggling beside her, the young she cat's tail stuck between the ground and a rock that had been washed down into the cave. Watersplash swam towards the rock through the murky water, her lungs beginning to burn, and pushed the rock. It didn't budge. Shinewing's struggles were already growing weaker and weaker as the golden she cat began to run out of air. Watersplash felt her body try to push her to swim to the surface for air but she ignored the pain in her lungs and continued to shove the rock.

Slowly, the heavy rock started to move and Shinewing's tail was free. Watersplash looked up to see her apprentice rush for the surface, being whisked away by the current. Watersplash tried to follow her apprentice but her fur was too thick and dragged her down. Her lungs were screaming for air, everything in her body told her to fight to get to the surface of the water but she knew she was going to join Starclan. I'm sorry Nutwhisker. She wished she could see the light brown tom one last time before her last heartbeat, but her fate had been decided already.

Watersplash saw movement in the corner of her eye and felt a sad smile reach her lips as Darkfeather floated stiffly towards her, his eyes closed and jaws parted in a silent wail. He was already dead. Goodbye Lightclan and hello Starclan. Watersplash closed her eyes as she slipped away into darkness, never to return to her body again.

Stormstar's POV:

Stormstar woke up to water all around him. So it hadn't been a dream after all. The black tom had woken up, his den filled with seawater. He had been trapped underwater and drowned, losing a life. He was now being carried mercilessly by the water's current further into the forest.

The faint stinging in his hind leg and back told him that he had hit a few objects along the way while he was unconscious. Stormstar let out a loud laugh as he stared around him at the water-filled forest. "Maybe this is a dream afterall." He passed a tree and knocked painfully into another. "Wow, NoName you're really improving with your visions. This feels pretty real."

Stormstar let the water take him wherever. He didn't care; it was a dream afterall. A fairly nice dream after all the nightmares he'd been having. Although there was bound to be a twist in the dream once NoName realised he wasn't scared of it.

He was heading straight for a tree. "Maybe this one'll knock me into my next nightmare..." He chuckled as he faced the tree that rushed towards his face. The impact was bone-jarring and his head snapped backwards with a crack, his neck breaking. Stormstar's second death that day was satisfyingly quicker than the first one, thank Starclan.
