Chapter 18: Special Chapter part 1!
Tigerstripe's POV:
Tigerstripe stared at the wave, his green eyes so wide that the white around his eyes could be seen. He felt his fur begin to bristle and claws unsheath. As the wave tumbled closer, merely twenty seconds from impact, he finally snapped out of his trance and yowled. "The nursery!" Silverwing and her kits were still in their cave. They'd be trapped by the water and down!
As fast as he possibly could move his legs, Tigerstripe pelted across the clearing and down into the nursery cave. He could feel the rumbling in the ground as the wave hurtled closer. He felt fear rise within him but he pushed away his feelings and focused on saving Silverwing and her kits. He darted for Amberkit and yowled. "Silverwing you get Sweetkit! We have to hurry!"
He started for the tunnel back up to camp but Silverwing yowled behind him. "What about Timberkit? We can't leave him!"
"I'll go back for him, now hurry!" Tigerstripe hissed, leaping up the tunnel and back into the main clearing. He pelted across the clearing and headed straight for a tree. The pounding of pawsteps behind him told him that Silverwing was right behind him. Tigerstripe chose a big and sturdy tree to climb, barely hesitating as he jumped up and began climbing to the high branches of the tree. Amberkit whimpered in Tigerstripe's jaws but he ignored the kit and placed her down safely on a thick branch.
Silverwing climbed up beside him. "Please bring Timberkit back safely." She breathed, sitting on the branch to let her kits huddle with her. "Please Tigerstripe."
"I'll try." Tigerstripe promised and began climbing back down. He glanced at the wave as he climbed, his eyes widening as the foaming dark water crashed straight into camp, covering it completely in water. He stared below him, his hurried descent faltering. Water flooded everywhere around him. There was no way he could find Timberkit now that the water had arrived.
Out of the corner of his eye, Tigerstripe caught sight of Stormstar's black furred head bobbing in the water near his tree. The Lightclan leader was being carried by the water, further away from camp and deeper into the forest.
Tigerstripe let out a soft whisper to his ancestors. "Great Starclan, let us all survive this tragedy." Then he began climbing back up to Silverwing, trying to think of a way to tell the queen that Timberkit was most likely dead.

Timberkit's POV:
As Silverwing's tail whisked out of sight, Timberkit tumbled out of the nest. "Hey! Wait for me!" He squeaked, stumbling after his mother and the brown tom. The rumbling ground threw him off balance and Timberkit fell on his side, letting out a soft mewl of anguish. Why did they leave me behind? Why is the ground shaking? What's going on?
The little brown kit struggled to his paws again and stumbled back to his nest, falling into the soft moss with a little squeak. The rumbling grew steadily louder and fear blossomed within Timberkit. Why did they abandon me? Doesn't Mumma want me anymore? Tears pricked his amber eyes and he cried out. "Silverwing come back! Don't leave me alone!"
"Hush, little one." A gentle voice echoed behind him and he spun around to see a silver she cat sitting calmly behind his nest. Her green eyes were glowing with warmth and Timberkit felt himself being drawn to the sparkling cat. "Do not he afraid Timberkit."
"Who are you?" Timberkit squeaked, falling over as the ground trembled and the thundering sound drew closer.
"I am Silverstar and I will look after you from now on." The silver tabby meowed, her paw stretching out to cup him around her protectively. Timberkit curled into Silverstar's warm pelt and felt tears well up in his eyes. Mumma doesn't want me anymore. Now Silverstar has to look after me..Why does Silverwing hate me?
Timberkit let out a frightened mew as a wave of water tumbled down the nursery tunnel, quickly swallowing him up in the dark blue-brown liquid. He opened his jaws to let out a wail of fear, bubbles exploding from his mouth. He flailed his little legs, his lungs beginning to burn painfully. He needed to breath, but he couldn't. Where did the air go? He tried to breath in water but instead began coughing and choking, the pain growing and growing in his chest.
Tears streamed down his cheeks as the water pulled him down. Absolute terror washed over him as he quickly realised that he was drowning. His lungs burned with so much agony he felt himself grow limp, waves of darkness threatening to take over. As he felt himself slipping into unconsciousness, he found himself staring into the warm green eyes of Silverstar and a strange feeling of peace showered over him.
In his final heartbeat of life, Timberkit felt completely safe and at peace.
