Chapter Three
"There you are!" Ambrblaze yowled, happily as she spotted Startail. "I have something to tell you!" Startail nodded. "I do too!" That doesn't happen often that Startail and I both have something to say at the same time! Amberblaze thought. "Okay!" Amberblaze meowed. "You go first."
"So today, I was out hunting and I came back with no prey." Startail meowed. "That just sounds like bad luck," Amberblaze meowed. I mean, why tell me that? "No, I talked to Wolfsong and Moonfire and Moonfire told me that she has seen recent hunting patrols come back empty-pawed." Amberblaze nodded. I thought something was up. "So what's the point of this?" Amberblaze asked. "Obviously something's going on with prey shortage. Shouldn't we find out?" Startail asked. Amberblaze nodded. "You're right, Startail. We should." At least this makes sense. I like Startail, but sometimes I have no idea what she means when she says stuff. "So what did you have to say?" Can I tell her? Amberblaze thought. Will she be alarmed? Will she even understand? "What Im about to tell you is serious and it is very important." Amberblaze told Startail. Startail nodded. "I'm listening." She meowed. "About twelve moons ago, Bluefeather had a prophecy: The great ending is near. Two stars in the sky are the last hope before the end. Bluefeather also had an omen: She was walking in the forest and stepped in a puddle. But this puddle was silver. Then, a golden piece of straw fluttered down from the sky. Once it hit the silver puddle, the puddle turned golden. A few moons later, I had a dream. Featherstar and Nightdapple-StarClan cats- whispered, 'Two stars in the sky are the last hope until the end'. Then, I looked down in a puddle, I was not the only one in the reflection, you were, too! I needed to tell you the two of us are the stars in the sky!" Amberblaze explained. Startail froze. "So you and I are cats from a StarClan prophecy about a great ending, us being the two stars in the sky, and a last hope?" She asked. Amberblaze nodded. "Yes," She meowed. "Yes we are," Then, Flarestripe called out, "Startail! We need you on a hunting patrol!" Startail turned to Amberblaze. "I need to go, we'll talk about this later." She meowed, then she ran to join her patrol. I hope I told her at the right time, Amberblaze thought. I hope she understands.
Amberblaze was asleep in her den. Startail was still on the hunting patrol.
Amberblaze then woke to a paw in her face. "Amberblaz wake up!" The cat said. Amberblaze got up. "What is it?" She asked. Amberblaze expected it to be Startail. After their conversation about loss of prey and StarClan prophecies, she wouldn't be surprised. But it was not Startail. It was in fact, Jaywillow. "Hi," Jaywillow purred. "I just wanted to spend some time with you, Amberblaze." Then quickly she added, "I don't remember the last time I did!" Amberblaze nodded. "Okay," I need something to get my mind off the dumb prophecy.
Once Amberblaze was back from her time she spent with Jaywilow, she went to bed. Startail was back now. We'll have to talk in the morning. Amberblaze thought. Then she drifted off to sleep.
