Cowpaw couldn't look away, the shock had gripped her and she was paralyzed with sadness. She wanted to hate StarClan but knew it wasn't them. It wasn't at all, she had to stay with them no matter what.

"Why does this always happen to me...." She whispered her eyes gazing around the clearing. "Mom...please..stay with me.." she blinked and saw a starry figure that looked just like her mom. She raised her eyes they were full of sorrow as she looked at her mom.

"I hate...them...I hate RavenClan!" She yowled at her mother. Her mother's gaze was in her eyes full of love and softness "my sweet kit, it's not their fault I promise you that... It's the will of StarClan that I've joined them!"

Her mom started to fade away "goodbye my sweet kit I will always be with you..." She whispered as she faded out of sight.

"Mom..." She cried out in sadness tears racing down her face. She blinked and her mom was gone, when she looked at the side she saw RavenPaw sitting by her and his tail wrapped around her.

She didn't want to accept it and smile, she couldn't bring herself to do that in a time like this. She had to face it, her mother was dead and her father is gone. She looked at him and just blinked in gratitude and went back to grieving.

Her eyes burnt with sadness as tears stopped she had cried so much that they were gone. RavenPaw gently prodded her up to her paws and she looked down at her mom. "No.. let me stay a bit longer"

RavenPaw looked at her sadness in his eyes "I'm sorry, we can't.." Cowpaw clawed the ground beneath her paws as her mother's body was taken away.

"How...how..how could StarClan allow this!!??" She whispered And she saw tears fall down her face and onto the sandy ground beside her.

RavenPaw gave her a swift lick and looked at her, "StarClan is trying to save the clans, and your mom has saved us as well.." RavenPaw whispered the hurt in his eyes was very clear.

Cowpaw sobbed and placed her head into RavenPaws silky black fur. Thank you RavenPaw... I can't tell you how much your helping me right now... She thought and she looked at him the whole fight of that cat and her mother flashing through her eyes.

As if he knew what she was thinking RavenPaw looked in her eyes "it's ok.. don't think of what happened, just think of how proud she is of you.."

"She, she is my mom.. and she is dead now! Because of me.. because I..couldn't help her in time" the words slipped out of Cowpaws mouth. "And yet she still forgave him.."

She felt exhausted as RisingStar came to her and looked urgent her eyes twinkled with a hint of grief. "You need to come, this is an urgent situation." She meowed flicking her tail and turning around and padding away towards the leaders den.

Cowpaw took a pawstep and felt exhausted and she felt RavenPaw hold her up with his shoulder for support and helped her walk across the clearing.

Warriors had been gathering and discussing things and apprentices where helping get injured cats to the medicine den but it was all a blur for cowpaw.

Her heart was beating faster then ever and she heard her own breath began to come in pants. She looked around the clearing at the looks of sympathy and everything went clear and normal again when she took a paw step inside the leaders den.

"Thank you RavenPaw, you may go." RisingStar nodded and looked back at CowPaw with sympathy in her eyes. "Your mother was great." She whispered quietly to her and licked her ear slightly.

Cowpaw looked up not speaking and her eyes showing nothing but tears. RisingStar continued "but I didn't think that this would happen to her."

Cowpaw felt her ears prick and she muttered between tears, "what..?" She whispered and heard RisingStar grunt and start to pace.

"The prophecy... I got a prophecy from StarClan a half moon after you were born just before you opened your eyes.." he meowed and quickly continued "I didn't want to tell anyone but now I know it is you I must tell. StarClan told me.. 'There will be a courage born in the clan, and as the deep comes close to battle with the Cold, loyal will become betrayal and only courage can stop it.' that's..."

RisingStars voice began to trail and a look of hopelessness and insanity flashed through his eyes. "I don't know what to do..." He whispered.

Cowpaw stood up and felt anger flash through her "what does this have to do with me!? What does it have to do with me!? I don't care about you! You are just a...heartless...worthless..leader!" She turned tail and padded out of the warriors den everything back to quiet ringing in her ears.

RavenPaw ran up to her "are you ok?" He whispered and CowPaw didn't respond her heart beating loudly. "I'm sorry." He meowed again and he took her to the apprentice den.

Finally when she reached her spot RavenPaw let her sit her down and curled up to her. She just stared and sat,not wanting to move. Her eyelids started to close and she saw Dovestripe come in. But she didn't want to train.

DoveStripe looked at her and crouched to her ear "it's ok you can take a few days for rest, you deserve it." She meowed and then licked her forward. Cowpaw knew she didn't expect a response, and CowPaw didn't want to respond.

She looked at the ground below her and her eyes started to shut and she felt tired. All I need right now is sleep... That's all I need. Her paws tingled in exhaustion and she curled up.

Finally her eyes fully shut and she fell asleep.

"You never saved me! You didn't help!" Her mom's voice rang and she heard pawsteps behind her. "Mom...mom..I'm sorry!" She ran to her mom "I can help you now! I can help you!" She yowled trying to curl to her mom.

"It is to late! You had a chance and you didn't lose it!" Her mother snarled. Her claws slowly slipping from there sheaths.

"This..this is not you!" Cowpaw yowled. Her eyes starting to burn with tears. "It can't be!" She yowled in terror.

"You are a worthless child!" Her mother yowled and leaped onto CowPaw.

Cowpaw gasped, her head shot up and she saw that she was sprawled out on one side her sides heaving. She was shaken her eyes flicked back down to the ground.

She stood up and padded out into the clearing weakly. Every paw step ached her. She lowered her head limply and grabbed a mouse then felt a tiny paw prod her. It's FawnKit. She thought and turned around.

The kit was playing with her tail. She flicked it to the side watching as the kit stumbled to the ground. She looked at him bleakly.

"SparrowKit!" FawnKit squeaked and watched his brother come over to him his tiny paws barely leaving a dent in the grass. "Let's play with Cowpaw the grumps!" He and SparrowKit leaped onto her.

Cowpaw growled and moved them harshly with a paw and they flung onto the fresh kill pile. "Leave me alone you mouse-brained kits!" She snarled baring her large teeth at the quivering kits.

She turned away and started to walk towards the apprentice den before she heard an angry voice hiss at her. "Why would you call my kits mouse-brained?" Echodream growled.

Cowpaw continued walking fully ignoring the queen. Then she heard paw steps coming fastly to her. "Cowpaw wait!" She turned her ears pricked and she watched as HollyPaw neared her.

"What..?" Cowpaw whispered and looked at her. HollyPaw was bouncing with excitement. Cowpaw watched silently as she yowled "I chased off a fox!"

Cowpaw looked at her and felt the urge to snarl and leap onto HollyPaw because of the most mouse brain thing she just said. "Listen, I don't care right now." Her voice was annoyed and she flicked her tail.

HollyPaw immediately looked undetermined and she flattened her ears. "Your right. Sorry." She turned away trotting to the other side of territory.

Cowpaw turned and continued walking she sat down and bit into a vole she had taken from the pile earlier. She watched as she saw kits playing and apprentices doing there duties.

She saw kits playing with there mother's.

Her heart broke into tiny pieces as she realized she would never be able to play with her mother again, her mother was gone. Her whole world was gone.

She turned her head to see RavenPaw next to her and she curled close to him. She felt warm but not happy, she felt sad, like there was nothing left in her.

"What will I do without her.." she whispered quietly and saw as RavenPaw looked down at her giving her a lick. "You will be ok, she is always with you.."

"But it was my fault, I let her die.. I let down everyone" she whispered as her heart pounded.

"No, it wasn't your fault, it was her destiny." RavenPaw meowed comfortingly. But cowpaw just layed and her eyes gazed at the side of the den.

She knew her mom would never be there to be with her, but she felt a warm embrace by her and she saw a starry figure of her mom but when she blinked it was gone. But she could still feel the warmth.

Mother.. she thought desperately, I miss you so much..

A/N: ok so this is chapter ten Wich took me like a week and a half to write and I had writers block Wich sucks anyways, yep that's the chapter! I actually feel bad for cowpaw because she did not deserve this.
