Prologue

A big white dragon stepped gracefully through the bushes of StarClan's hunting grounds, her shimmering scales glowing softly in the celestial light. She smiled warmly as she spotted her old friends lounging together by a crystal-clear stream.

Bluestar was the first to notice her arrival. The blue-gray she-cat stood up, her tail lifting in a welcoming wave. "Silverwind, hey!" she purred, padding over to touch noses with the magnificent dragon.

Silverwind folded her expansive, glistening wings tightly against her sides before sitting down beside Bluestar. Her silver eyes twinkled with a mix of fondness and apprehension. "Hey, Bluestar," she murmured. She dipped her head respectfully to the grizzled old she-cat sitting nearby. "Yellowfang."

Yellowfang, true to form, snorted and twitched her whiskers. "Silverwind," she greeted gruffly. "Come to deliver yet another prophecy for your hatchlings, have you?" The former ShadowClan medicine cat's amber eyes gleamed with equal parts amusement and suspicion as she peered up at the massive dragon.

Silverwind's tail flicked, the silvery tip tracing delicate patterns in the glowing grass beneath her. "I fear so," she said, her voice tinged with a hint of sadness. Her gaze drifted upward to the endless, star-dappled sky. "The winds have shifted, and the balance between the Clans and the other forces of this world grows fragile. Bloodmoon has left scars that may never heal, and now..." She sighed deeply, her breath curling like mist in the ethereal air.

Bluestar tilted her head, her blue eyes narrowing thoughtfully. "And now?" she pressed gently.

Silverwind's gaze returned to her friends, her expression solemn. "Another shadow looms—a threat that reaches beyond Bloodmoon's fire. A force bound to the cycles of light and dark, one that will test the resilience of the Clans in ways they've never known."

Yellowfang let out a low growl. "StarClan's been dealing with nonsense like this since the dawn of time," she grumbled. "Why not just smite the troublemakers ourselves?"

Silverwind let out a soft chuckle, the sound like a breeze rustling through leaves. "Because growth comes from the struggle, Yellowfang. The Clans have always been strongest when they rise together."

Bluestar nodded slowly. "But they will need guidance. The path ahead will not be easy."

Silverwind's tail wrapped around her paws, her silvery scales catching the starlight. "Then let us hope they are ready," she said softly. "For this time, even StarClan may find its strength tested."
