Grounder meet Sky People
Makira's eyes shifted around her new surroundings. Kids. Lots of them. And most of them were pointing their deadly weapons at her.
Bellamy stepped forwards. "She saved Jasper's life and helped us survive. She took down two of her own for us. No one hurts her without my say so, is that understood?"
The kids grumbled in disagreement and the 'grounder' blinked. "I need to see Finn. The blade most likely contained poison. I have the antidote on me. If Clarke requires my assistance, I should be there to help."
Bellamy nodded before following the braided girl. "Wait, what about your people? Won't you be executed if you go back?"
Makira turned to him with a light smile. "It is nice that you care so much, sky boy, but we can discuss that later. Right now, I've got work to do."
Thunder clapped causing the healer to zone out more than she already was. The blonde from the tree shoved her shoulder lightly. "Hey, you okay?"
Makira nodded. "I'm fine. I gave him the antidote. What is the girl named after a bird trying to do?"
Clarke glanced at the brown haired girl. "Raven? She's trying to contact our people in space. My mom knows way more about this stuff than I do."
Makira nodded. "When this is done, someone has gotta teach me how to do that."
Clarke let out a broken laugh. "Yeah Kira. You seem like the type to want to learn."
The grounder's face flushed. "Is that a bad thing?"
The sound of the instrument cut the two girls off. Clarke immediately responded. Makira slowly approached them. "May I speak to your leader?"
Clarke and Raven shared a look. Raven nodded. "Yeah sure."
"Hello, I understand that I am speaking to the leader of the sky people?"
A male voice answered. "Who is this?"
"Makira, one of the people you call the grounders. I want to apologize for Lincoln's actions. I did not realize he was going to stab the boy they call Finn. If I had, I would have tried to prevent it. I shall be staying with your people, if they shall let me."
It was silent for a moment besides the thunder, screaming, and static. The girl furrowed her eyebrows. "Hello? We need to get Finn help now."
"What about my son?"
Makira fell silent. Clarke snatched the communication device away from the tribal young adult. "I'm so sorry. Wells...he's dead."
As they prepared for surgery, Bellamy re-entered with Lincoln. Makira stepped towards him. "What are you doing?"
His gruff voice called out above the storm. "Time for some answers."
She licked her lips before walking closer. "I'm sure Lincoln meant no harm. You may get answers from me. Don't hurt him, please."
He eyed her before sighing. "We'll try not to."
Wiping her hands clean, Makira headed up stairs. "Since I am already a traitor...let's get this over with."
Bellamy nodded firmly. "Right. How many of you are there?"
She brushed her hair back. "Overall or simply in my clan?"
He sat down in front of her. "Both."
Makira sighed. "Overall, thousands. My clan alone has several hundred spread out in different villages ."
She could have sworn he paled slightly. Gulping, he asked his next question. "Why are your people killing ours?"
Makira leaned back and crossed her arms. "The purple lights. They burn and destroy. You struck first, whether or not it was intentional."
Bellamy sighed and run his fingers through his curly hair. "Can we stop it? The bloodshed?"
She shook her head. "Blood must be answered with blood. Either a sacrifice or a war. The commander might listen. But unfortunately for you, she's nowhere near by. The closest would be Anya, but she wants revenge and will pursue a war if she can."
Bellamy let out a curse. "What about you? Why are you helping us? Where will you go?"
Makira shrugged. "I don't know. I suppose you people from space fascinate me, do I need another reason? And I don't know."
The copper skinned boy had shot up and was pacing the floor now. "You said, you said that if you were lucky, you would die by fire. What does that mean?"
She gulped slightly. "My people have several different ways to kill a traitor. A thousand cuts. Fire. Chopping off their hands then head. And, if the commander thinks the crime was big enough, all three, leaving the beheading for last. No one that I know of has survived that long."
He winced. "I'll talk it up with my people. You helped us, let us help you. But if you betray us, I will make you regret it Makira."
She smiled softly. "Thank you. And my friends call me Kira, space boy."
