Chapter 33
Her dream was dark, empty, almost menacing.
Crimsonpaw seemed to float there for quiet a while before she was jerked awake by a warmth being wrapped around her crumpled body.
Blinking her eyes open, she felt warmth all around her. Crimsonpaw shifted around a bit, wincing as her curled up body screamed in protest. She was still beside Flarepaw's body, except there were two more bodies resting beside her. Falconpaw and Bouncepaw. Her brothers hugged her tightly from both sides, their wings joined together to create a red and blue shield from the cold wind.
Sensing her movement, the two toms lifted their heads from Flarepaw's stiff pelt and looked at their little sister. Falconpaw murmured. "What happened?"
Crimsonpaw forced down a feeble sob as the memories were thrown at her and she stuttered. "W-we were in Lightclan's t-territory and we were at-attacked by two apprentices." She gritted her teeth as more tears promised to spill. "Flarepaw saved us.. B-but Jaguarpaw died. Th-then Flarepaw died." She broke into a fit of sobs, burying her face in Falconpaw's chest.
The black and blue tom wrapped his paw around her, sighing. "It okay, Crimsonpaw. It's okay."
But it's not okay, is it? She wanted to silently retort back. You probably hate me for letting Flarepaw die.
"You're such a disgrace to this family." Solarflare's voice suddenly growled from behind her and she peeled herself away from Falconpaw's embrace to see her mother glaring angrily down at her. "Losing your wings and then killing your own sister! What's next? The destruction of our entire clan?"
"I didn't kill her!" Crimsonpaw cried, her amber eyes wide as she cowered under her mother's stern gaze.
"You went out on a mouse-brained adventure with your rogue friend that got Flarepaw killed, therefore it's your fault!" Solarflare snarled, lashing her tail. "Now leave before you cause anymore trouble!"
Crimsonpaw ducked her head and darted away from her brothers, back into the merciless wind that had picked up since she had slept. Sunset was nearing, and long shadows were being cast throughout the moorland. A few of her clan mates stood back and watched the winged family as they mourned for Flarepaw, none of them taking any notice of her. I bet they still wouldn't notice me if I jumped off The Cliff right now. She thought bitterly, storming away in the direction of camp.

A full day after Flarepaw and Jaguarpaw's deathes, Crimsonpaw's warrior ceremony arrived. Frozenstar had already named Bouncefoot and Falconheart, now it was Crimsonpaw's turn.
"Crimsonpaw, step forwards." The Flameclan leader meowed, flicking her tail for the red she cat to approach. "I, Frozenstar, leader of Flameclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn."
Crimsonpaw beamed happily, for once she forgot about all the death of the day before and focused purely on the fact that she had made it to being a warrior. She had done it.
"Crimsonpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" Frozenstar looked down at her.
"I do."
"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. From this moment you will be known as Crimsonfur. StarClan honors your determination and courage, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Flameclan." Frozenstar sent her former apprentice a small smile and started the cheer of her new name.
"Crimsonfur! Falconheart! Bouncefoot!" The clan cheered, raising their voices to the sky.
The three siblings smiled proudly as their new names were called. They had made it.
