The storm began to ease off as the two young cats pelted across the damp moorland and towards Lightclan's border. Jaguar beat Crimsonpaw by such a huge length that he had to double back after he reached the border and run back to find her.

Crimsonpaw was panting and gasping as she staggered towards the Lightclan border. "I... made.. it... finally!" She wheezed, the crisp, damp air like sharp thorns in her lungs.

Jaguar had padded next to her, letting her lean on him for the rest of the way. "I expected you to be slower than me, but not this slow!" He chuckled and sat down to lick his wet fur. "You'll never be able to run from the dangers of twolegplace tomorrow, I can't believe I agreed to this."

"Don't worry, I've got my claws as backup." Crimsonpaw panted, flopping ungracefully on her side. The cool mud seeped into her red fur and she grumbled.

"Storms are nice, but the water part of it sucks." Jaguar chuckled as he tried to lick the mud from his paws.

Crimsonpaw took a deep breath to calm her breathing before she replied. "Storms are scary."

"Only if you let them be scary." The golden tom responded, rasping his tongue around his claws. "The trick to being fearless is to acknowledge your fears and then slap them in the face with a fish."

"Where'd you get that from?" Crimsonpaw chuckled and looked up at him.

"Just a little something I made up." He grinned at her. "See? You're not afraid anymore. Humor works every time."

She smiled and rolled her eyes, standing up. "Why don't we go hunting? Bring back some rabbits for the clan."

Jaguar nodded, sighing. "I don't think I'm ready for the responsibilities of clan life. Catching food for others as well as yourself, it's nonsense. Not being able to eat the food you catch while hunting, nonsense again." He opened his mouth to continued, but Crimsonpaw flicked her thick red tail in his face.

"Alright, I get it." She laughed. "I'm sure you'll find the advantages of clan life soon enough."

As they started towards the deeper part of the moorland, Jaguar continued to list all the ways clan life was horrible. Crimsonpaw found herself agreeing with him, her gaze travelling often to the lights of twolegplace beyond. She wondered what life was like out there. No drama or responsibilities. Just you on your own, with no worries except getting food and a nice place to sleep.

Eventually, they came across a series of rabbit holes. Crimsonpaw glanced at Jaguar. "Stand back and let the master show you how its done." She grinned as he rolled his eyes and sat back to watch.

She padded silently up to one of the holes and peered inside, listening. The sounds of scuffling paws on dirt met her ears. She glanced back at Jaguar. "Go to that hole and make noise." She ordered, pointing to a hole nearby.

Jaguar obeyed quietly and began stomping on the ground near the rabbit hole he had been directed to. Crimsonpaw waited as the rabbits shrieked, their pawsteps growing louder until suddenly a plump grey rabbit burst right into her jaws. She caught it, snapping its neck with a grin.

"Well done." Jaguar trotted up to her and took the rabbit from her hold, placing it down on the ground. "That was impressive."

Crimsonpaw beamed proudly. "Thanks."

The two turned when they heard movement inside the rabbit hole and a little white bunny shot out of it. Crimsonpaw lunged for it and trapped the bunny under her paws. She went to sink her teeth into its neck when she caught sight of it's wide dark eyes.

Jaguar tapped her shoulder. "Are you going to kill it?"

The bunny and Crimsonpaw had a staring contest, and the bunny won. Crimsonpaw let her prey go and turned to Jaguar. "Wasn't that bunny the most adorable thing ever?!" She shrieked.

"Um.." Jaguar took a step back. "It's our food.."

"Not bunnies, bunnies are too cute to be food." Crimsonpaw turned to watch as the bunny bounded away as quickly as it could. "I will never eat another bunny ever again. Bunnies are friends."

Jaguar sighed and gave her a small nudge, licking her ear tip. "Very well, Crimsonpaw. Bunnies are no longer food to us."
