Chapter 8

It was already nightfall by the time they finished their training session so, Rushshine and Bramblepaw had to come back to camp. The moon reflected off of their pelts making them shine as bright as Silverpelt was. "Why do all the badgers come here? It is already leaf-bare isn't it?" meowed Bramblepaw. "Yes I know I was there when Meadowstar addressed the badger issue," mewed Rushshine. Perhaps, that is why Tigerfur was so anxious because of the latest badger attacks and I was wrong. Bramblepaw dropped the juicy mouse he managed to catch on their way back to camp, and then padded into the apprentice's den. He flopped down on his flank and quickly fell asleep. After entering his own dream again, He didn't see any cat anywhere. He could feel that he was in warm sticky mud and was surrounded by darkness with nothing but the beat of thunderstorms around him. He immediately panicked, his small body wriggling in the darkness hardly being able to move. He knew how to swim a bit but definitely NOT in mud. He raised his head higher and thrashed wildly trying to get out of the thick mud, trying to make a sound to get someone's attention. He finally managed to drag himself out to the surface but then he realised that the whole plains were mostly covered with threatening swamps and quick-sand. He stared across the muddy plains and noticed a small, lifeless and bare bark of what probably once was a huge tree. The naked tree bark must have been extremely fragile and weak  because all of a sudden lightning struck it hard and turned it into a mere pile of ash. He fell back into the muddy swamp, too exhausted to fight back from drowning in the murky depths any longer. He then woke up with a gasp and felt shaken. He felt too frightened and agitated to sleep any longer so he decided to walk out of camp for a hunting session. He chose to go hunting near the border between their Clan and SeaClan. As he stalked towards the border he caught some voles and then buried them for his return journey. He stalked closer than preferred to the two-leg place and tried to see if there were any prey that haven't run off yet. Seeing a lizard scurry past him vastly he tried to pounce on it but missed however he wouldn't give up yet. It dashed into one of the two-leg's gardens and he reluctantly jumped over the fence but rather than catching the vole he ended up landing on top of a kittypet. The kittypet screeched defiantly and it almost front-flipped over scratching and raking at the invisible air blindly. "Keep your pelt on you kittypet waste," spat Bramblepaw. The kittypet was a medium-sized she-cat that looked up at him as he spat at her. "What is a kittypet?" meowed the she-cat. "Can't you just leave me alone?," snapped the kittypet and then leaped up and out of the two-leg garden. "I can't believe two-legs just lock cats up like that," muttered Bramblepaw padded onward to collect his prey and return to camp. He dropped his daily prey on top of the fresh-kill pile with a loud thud and then went to take a nap. And as he was about to curl into a ball in his bracken-filled nest, he heard a distinct shuffle near him and then realised that Shrewpaw was lifting her head dazily looking at him. "Where have you gone?,  I was having a great dream about a juicy vole--" but Bramblepaw interrupted her. "I wasn't able to sleep so I went out to hunt some more," said Bramblepaw and Shrewpaw responded with a nonchalant shrug, laying back down on her nest and falling asleep. Bramblepaw himself crouched calmly back into his nest, but before he fell asleep he could have sworn to StarClan that he saw Redwave watching over him.

Hello my peeps, I have recently been balancing school, homework, coursework and family etc. I have a life too although sometimes I actually f*cking hate it but don't worry I will not be leaving anywhere but the chapters might possibly become shorter...
