Chapter 7
They trotted all the way back to camp, although neither one of them could speak because they had loads of prey in their jaws. They then started sprinting so that Bramblepaw could become better in terms of his speed. They both padded into camp and saw that everybody was very busy with helping the elders and helping Firefur to restock up more on specific herbs for leaf-bare. So Bramblepaw decided to pad into the apprentice's den to take a nap. He bunched his body into the nest and slowly closed his eyes falling into a deep sleep. For the first time Bramblepaw was alone and not in the same place with hills of snow and ice. He seemed to be in a ruined-looking forest with chopped and trees laying everywhere and little sparks from fire were still ever so slightly glowing everywhere. "Redwave are you here?" yowled Bramblepaw. Suddenly Scarflight came out of hiding causing another cloud of thunderstorms to arrive. "Where is he?" meowed Bramblepaw to her. "He can't come to you right now because he is giving a message to Firefur. Even a StarClan cat can't be in two places at the same time we're not magical," meowed Scarflight. "Yeah but I know you are the last cat that he would send in his place though. He told me that you were evil, anyway," he responded and gave her a slight glare. "I came here of my own accord because, I never knew of him choosing another StarClan cat," she snapped obviously annoyed of his constant chattering, and the comment about her being evil. "I am giving you an offer, youngster. Train with me in here and you could become fiercer and more stronger. And you know one day if you kept training with me I imagine you becoming leader of LeopardClan," she said and then showed the young apprentice a cut claw that shone with crimson blood clearly from another cat. But before he could turn down her offer Redwave came dashing so fast into the ruined forest and let out a furious yowl. Bramblepaw watched as Redwave went for her throat and then raked her flank. "Stop lying to her about your so-called promises of power," spat Redwave. "Tsk, tsk, tsk, Redwave has anyone ever told you how much of an idiot you are? Bramblepaw can easily get just as much training from me as anyone else. Oh yes and, don't you remember that tragic day when I murdered your mother right in front of your eyes? You were nothing but a frightened little kit back then," spat Scarflight viciously as her blood was slowly dripping from her throat and flank. Oh no, she is trying to use the past events to get into his head. Redwave glared at him with his intense golden eyes coldly, he shook out his pelt and then nudged Bramblepaw away from her. Scarflight was still looking at them with a smug expression on her face as they sneaked away. The StarClan tom led him into the denser and snowier part of the jungle and then they both crouched down relaxed, Bramblepaw was fully attentive to what the elder had to say. "Most of the time Scarflight tries to manipulate cats with promises to make them strong and powerful, I find it ironic considering she ends up leading them down dark paths of bloodshed and destruction," mewed Redwave. Bramblepaw nodded in agreement but then heard the familiar voice of his mentor calling him. "Farewell, Redwave,"mewed Bramblepaw as he eventually was woken up by his mentor. "Wake up sleepypaw! It is time for your daily training to begin and both of your sisters are already gone," said Rushshine sternly. "I am sorry, I was just caught up in a dream," mewed Bramblepaw. Rushshine let out a reluctant grunt before leading him out to the huge monkey tree. They briefly paused to bury their fresh-kill. Then Bramblepaw got into a frightening position and threatened his mentor with a sharp spit."Start with a front kick," mewed Rushshine. Bramblepaw judged her opponent's distance from his own cautiously and then attacked with his front paws taking all the weight on his back legs. Rushshine was obviously allowing him to attack her taking the attack and staggered falling on her backside. And then Bramblepaw jumped on his mentor and pinned her to the ground as he pretended to rake her belly. "That was good but your opponent won't just let you hit them I'm afraid. Remember FrostClan cats are quick on their legs and use them to slash at their enemies. You must be swifter than them if it comes down to it." meowed Rushshine. Bramblepaw nodded and was preparing himself for the next attack. Bramblepaw saw the chance to dart underneath his mentor's belly before she could retaliate. Bramblepaw tried to spring underneath Rushshine's belly but he did it too late, Rushshine already rolled to one side and then jumped on Bramblepaw's spine pinning him to the ground. He was wriggling and squirming under Rushshine's huge paws. "I told you already. You must be more quick-minded," meowed Rushshine. "I'm sorry... but uh- can you move off me now?" mewed Bramblepaw.
