Chapter 2
Bramblekit's attitude hasn't changed since Redwave's death, her head, ears and tail were drooping down. Littlekit looked at her with a concerned face and said, "Mother can you tell us a tale about father?" Squirrelspark looked at each of her kits lovingly, "With pleasure, my darlings." All the kits bunched together clearly eager their mother's story, even Bramblekit couldn't help but feel excited. "Well when I was a very young apprentice my mentor would always tell me to hunt every sun rise until I noticed your father chase a rabbit over our territory. I told him to leave right then and there or else and he respected that by the dropping the rabbit and left. We started bonding more at the next gathering, and then we started to secretly meet up after sun downs. And then we had you three kits," said Squirrelspark telling the story amazingly as always as if it was the first time the kits had heard it. "Whoa mother that sounded like a great wide journey!" Shrewkit said eagerly. "Yeah what she said I want a big adventure like you did!" Littlekit mewled loudly. "Yes well what I did was not very honourable, because it was breaking the warrior code. By falling in love with your father I went against the warrior code and I am guessing that StarClan hates me by now," Squirrelspark's gaze drooped in depression. "StarClan doesn't hate you mother! They gave us you," Bramblekit mewed reassuringly. "You have a point there young one perhaps StarClan still has hope for me." Squirrelspark mewed back gently. "What was father's name?" mewled Littlekit. "Deeppool, and now I think it's time for you kits to get some sleep, you need to rest," meowed Squirrelspark. "Aww..alright," mewed all three kits as they curled up against their mother.
Bramblekit opened his eyes to see that he was in the vast expanse of a jungle which was completely covered in snow with a weird look on his face not knowing where he was. "I have to be in a dream if I just appeared here all of a sudden," said Bramblekit with a bewildered tone. He looked over the snow-covered vegetation and saw Shrewkit sleeping in the cover of snow. Bramblekit immediately ran to her side and nudged her hardly "Shrewkit?"Shrewkit looked up at him her light brown eyes looked glassy and exhausted from tiredness. "I guess so," replied Bramblekit. "I wonder what is going to happen," mewed Shrewkit and jumped up from the snow mound. "Firefur once told me that StarClan can walk into dreams of other cats! Maybe this is my chance to tell Redwave how sorry I am!" meowed Bramblekit. "Alright let's see if StarClan is here." Littlekit and Bramblekit padded around the unusually snowy jungle until they discovered a large ball that was dark and they leaped into it, and they walked into a huge snowy jungle similar to their territory in LeopardClan. Bramblekit turned his head around and saw a bluish-silver-furred tom making him joyfully meow. He immediately dashed over and pawed Redwave, Redwave's ghostly spirit bent down and gave Bramblekit a comforting lick over his ears. "Little one, my death is not your fault. StarClan chose my fate not you," meowed Redwave gently. Shrewkit also padded over and cheerfully greeted Redwave."Little kits, you will learn when you're older that you have to put your Clan above all else, take the thunder up there in Silverpelt for instance, Redwave beckoned them to look at the sky with his tail making sure it didn't disappear so quickly, "The thunderstorm is so intent on releasing its anger on anything that it doesn't let anything stop it not even the sun, do not let any cat put you down just because you're half-Clan and instead use what they say as motivation to fight for your Clan no matter what," mewed Redwave gentleness edging his tone. "Alright Redwave," mewed both kits and returned their gaze back to the dark ball continuously floating above the snowy ground. They heard gentle mews from the ball of darkness and the kits immediately recognised their mother's voice. "We have to leave Redwave. Mother is trying to wake us up." mewed Bramblekit."Heed my words, now go and greet your mother. This will not be the last time we see each other, kits." And with that Redwave dismembered into a misty-looking fog and the two kits instantly jumped back into consciousness.
