Epilogue
Lilypetal's POV
My eyes shot open as I heard the loud chirps of the first morning birds, their cries escaping the trees out in the forest and flooding straight into my ears. I immediately had to squint and screw my eyes shut again as the bright rising sun shone through the bramble walls and into the warriors den. I could feel its warmth falling onto my back, and I could already picture the large rays of light beaming through the woven ceiling above me.
Well, good morning to me, I guess!
I shifted myself slightly in my moss nest, extending my front and back paws out into one long stretch as my mouth opened up into a yawn.
I then slowly but surely stood up, scanning my eyes around the den. Every single nest was still filled, and the snores and soft breathing of my Clanmates filled my ears. While it would probably be strange for any other cat in this den to wake up before anyone else... it's what I'm used to, now! I realized.
I then let out a sigh as I looked back down at my nest, where my mate, Thornclaw, was still fast asleep. I couldn't help but stare lovingly down at his golden brown tabby shape for just a few heartbeats, watching as his flank rose and fell in his slumber.
But as adorable as his sleeping-self was, I eventually lowered my head down and gently began to nuzzle him awake as I rubbed my muzzle against his cheek.
It only took a few moments for me to finally succeed, and I began to purr at the first sight of one of my mate's pale blue eyes opening. "Rise and shine, sleepy-mouse!" I then whispered to him, lightly pawing his shoulder.
Thornclaw blinked his eyes open and closed just a few times before stretching out himself. He then stood up, his eyes full of affection as he gave me a lick on the cheek. "Hm, can't stand to start off a morning without me?"
I let out a sigh as I stared back at my mate. "Oh, I suppose that I can't," I purred back at him. I then sniffed as I gave a single lash of my tail. "Well, and I also have you leading the dawn patrol this morning."
Thornclaw blinked, feigning extreme bewilderment as his eyes glowed with amusement. "Oh, I see how it is, O great deputy!" he then whispered to me, his voice full of laughter.
I couldn't help but roll my eyes with those words. "Goodness gracious, how long are you going to be calling me that?" I meowed, beginning to lead my mate out of the warriors den. "You've called me that more than my own name since I became deputy a few quarter moons ago!"
"That's true, I have!" Thornclaw then purred, his expression full of mischief as I looked back at him. "And I'll stop once you stop giving me that adorable, frustrated face that you make every time I say it."
"Hm, you win," I then sighed, pretending to reluctantly give in as I stopped in my travel, standing just in front of the fresh-kill pile. I turned around to face Thornclaw, tilting my head to the side and flashing him a pleading, innocent look. "If I offer to share a chaffinch with you, will that get it to stop for at least a full day?"
Thornclaw paused as well, staring back at me through teasing, but loving pale blue eyes. And after a moment, he let out a small grunt and padded up to join me. "Hm... I'll consider it," he murmured, settling down on the ground as I pulled said chaffinch from the pile of prey and lied down just beside him.
And as I bent down to take my first bite of the plump, colorful bird, enjoying this meal with my mate as I did every morning, I felt myself feeling more refreshed, well-rested, and ready for another day. Ready for another day as ThunderClan's deputy!
I was still getting used to the incredibly new routine; having to get up at the crack of dawn, knowing exactly how that day was going to run, and what cats were doing what, had been incredibly daunting. It still was, and I still had a lot to learn.
But I was slowly getting the hang of it, or, at least I tried to tell myself that. But I just have to remind myself of why I'm having to work so hard in the first place, I told myself, my heart welling up with pride as I thought about what a privilege it was to be able to help my Clanmates in the way that I now was. And I've received nothing but encouragement and support from my Clanmates, and thank StarClan for that!
I then flicked my gaze affectionately back up at Thornclaw as I took another bite of the chaffinch. And I've also received some silly nicknames, but I can live with that.
Each morning since I'd become deputy, Thornclaw and I would get up before anyone else, grabbing a quick meal before both of our days begun, and I had to leap into the action of the day. Sharing a meal with the love of my life, I thought, exchanging an affectionate glance with Thornclaw as I pushed the chaffinch in his direction. The perfect way to begin my day.
But unfortunately, our meal quickly came to an end as two figures emerged from the warriors den - Squirrelflight and Spiderleg, who I had chosen to accompany my mate on the dawn patrol.
I let out a sigh, glancing back at my mate to see that he had also noticed the two other warriors. "And there's the rest of the dawn patrol," he muttered, standing up and taking a pawstep forward so that he could touch his nose to mine. "It looks like I'll be heading off."
I pressed my nose back, not being able to feel the slightest twinge of regret. It's times like this that make me realize just how much I hate sending you off early, I joked to myself. "Alright, Thornclaw," I whispered to him, pulling away so that I could meet his gaze. "See you at sunhigh for our hunting trip?"
"Of course," Thornclaw meowed softly as he stared tenderly back at me. "I love you."
"I love you too," I purred to Thornclaw, standing up and giving him one last lick on the cheek. "I'll see you soon!" Our hunting trip can't get here fast enough!
I then pulled away, watching as Thornclaw flashed me one last warm look and ran ahead to join his patrol. And with a single flick of his golden brown tabby tail, he then led them out of the ThunderClan camp and through the camp entrance.
I then flicked my ears, turning back towards the camp clearing as I began to hear the rustles and meows of several cats. And sure enough, I looked over my shoulder to see that many of my Clanmates were beginning to flood out of their dens - yawning, stretching, and bracing themselves for a new day.
And it's just been days since we battled evil spirits, lost some our beloved Clanmates, and even lost our leader, I realized, shaking my head in amazement as I watched the cats of ThunderClan make their way into camp. Yet we're all still here, ready to help and serve each other. Firestar would be very proud.
And not to my surprise at all, one of the first cats that came into my sight, ready to "help and serve", was a certain dark gray tabby she-cat with white patches bursting from the apprentices den.
I couldn't help but shake my head and purr with amusement as this she-cat skidded to a halt just in front of me. "Good morning, Lilypaw!" I greeted my apprentice.
The younger cat's eyes blazed with eagerness and excitement as she looked back at me. "Good morning, Lilypetal!" she purred in reply. "I woke up early this morning, and couldn't fall back asleep, so I thought I'd see if we could go out training early?"
I tilted my head to the side, attempting to hide my eagerness and excitement that quite honestly equated hers. "Hm... well..." I murmured, pretending to contemplate for just a moment before giving an enthusiastic flick of my tail. "Nothing wrong with an early day, Lilypaw! That's fine by me."
I then lashed my tail towards the fresh-kill pile. "Why don't you grab something to eat while I set up this morning's patrols? Then, we'll be off!"
Lilypaw let out a gasp, her eyes widening, and then proceeded to give me several eager nods. "Okay!" she exclaimed just before trotting over to the heap of prey. "See you soon!"
"See you soon!" I called back to her, then bringing myself back into focus as I scanned my eyes around the camp. Okay, the dawn patrol has been sent out, I told myself, letting my gaze rest individually on each of my Clanmates. But we should probably replenish the fresh-kill pile and send out some cats to hunt. But who to send, Lilypetal?
Luckily, it didn't take me long to answer my own question as three different pelts caught my eye. Ah-ha!
I stood up and pelted ahead towards the three cats of my second litter. "Wrenfeather, Lightningstrike, Emberheart?" I called out to them, touching my nose to each kit as I ran up to meet them. "Would you three possibly be up for some hunting?"
I then gave Lightningstrike an affectionate flick on the ear with my tail, watching as he blinked his yellow eyes open and closed several times over. "I know that you all are probably still tired from your vigil a few nights ago, but-"
"No, mother, that's completely fine!" Emberheart quickly cut in, shaking her head quickly as if to get rid of all fatigue. She then turned to look at her two brothers. "We're up to it, aren't we?"
Wrenfeather let out a snort beside her. "Well, I'm certainly not just going to lie around in my nest when hunting needs to be done."
Lightningstrike shook his head just as his sister had, and then proceeded to lift his chin and give me a single definitive nod. "Yep, we're on it!" he meowed to me, and after I gave him an appreciative lick on the cheek, the black tom began to lead his two littermates out of camp. "Come on!"
I then watched, my heart welling with pride as Lightningstrike stepped back, letting Wrenfeather and Emberheart pass through the camp entrance first. He then seemed to glance towards the warriors den for a moment, his eyes gleaming before following his siblings out of camp.
I followed my son's gaze to see that Snowstorm was currently emerging from the den, the dark gray pelt of Swiftflight just behind her. "Great StarClan," she purred back at her friend. "I cannot believe that you've actually done this every morning that you wake up before Cherryfall does."
Swiftflight stared at his friend, his gray-blue eyes narrowed. "Have you been counting?" he muttered.
"Well, you've done it often enough," Snowstorm then replied, watching in with humor in her eyes as Swiftflight brushed past her and ran ahead towards the fresh-kill pile. "She may be a new warrior, but she knows how to retrieve prey from the fresh-kill pile herself, you know."
"That's not the point, you mouse-brain!" Swiftflight then hissed, bending his head down to lift a shrew from the pile of prey. "I know that she could get it herself, but..." His initially annoyed glance then softened as he set his prey down, and looked back towards the warriors den. "I just like to have it ready for her when she wakes up."
Snowstorm stared back at Swiftflight, her blue eyes now gleaming with pride and admiration as she sighed. "Well... I suppose that I can't complain about my best friend being good to his mate."
She then gave Swiftflight a nudge before running towards the elders den, where Brackenfur and Dustpelt were doing some last-minute repairs. "I'll see you later!" she then called back to her friend. "We're racing out in the forest again!"
Swiftflight snorted, giving a lash of his tail. "Only a sore loser would be that insistent!" His expression then quickly went from teasing and amused, to soft and tender as he averted his gaze back towards the warriors den.
I followed my kin's gaze to see that Cherryfall, who had become a warrior just a couple of moons ago along with her brother, Molewhisker, was now making her way out into the camp clearing. Her amber eyes grew warm as they fell on where Swiftflight sat at the fresh-kill pile. She quickly ran up to join him, touching her muzzle to his before settling down beside him.
I couldn't help but feel an overwhelming amount of pride as I watched the two young warriors begin to share the shrew. Swiftflight really is doing all that he can to make Cherryfall happy, isn't he? I thought as I shook my head in amazement. Great StarClan, how that son of my daughter's has changed. And luckily, it was definitely for the better.
"Great StarClan, Goldenshine!"
Speaking of my daughter, apparently...
I then flicked my ears, slightly alarmed, and I shifted my gaze towards the medicine den to see my daughter, Goldenshine, padding through its bramble screen with a big smirk on her face.
Jayfeather followed just behind her, his blind blue eyes blazing with frustration. "For the last time, I am not going to arrange my herbs by how stinky they are!"
Goldenshine gasped, whipping herself around to face the medicine cat. "Oh, come on! Have you even given it any thought?" she pleaded. "What if we were in some emergency, and you needed someone unexperienced to grab some herbs for you? You could just say, 'I need some elder leaves - they're the really weird-smelling ones near the back'!"
"Sure," Jayfeather muttered as he rolled his eyes. "But then they'd have to take an extra few moments to sniff through all of the herbs that I've put near the back!"
"Well, clearly the current system isn't very helpful," my daughter went on, lashing her tail back towards the medicine den. "You asked me to get you some parsley the other day, and it took me forever to find it in there!"
Jayfeather snorted. "I don't think that was because of the arrangement of the herbs."
Goldenshine then groaned, rolling her gray eyes. "I think that Snowflight would love my idea!"
Jayfeather then let out a sigh, turning around to walk back into the medicine den. "I think that Snowflight would be on my side with this one."
My daughter watched the gray tabby tom go for a moment, and then proceeded to whip herself around and pad away from the den. "I'm going to ask Dustystorm what he thinks," she exclaimed, loudly enough to where Jayfeather would still be able to hear her. "I'm sure he'll think it's genius. Because it is!"
I stared back at my daughter, not being able to help but let out a quiet purr of amusement as I noticed Bramblestar leaping down from the Highledge out of the corner of my eye. I eventually looked back at him to see him looking back in the same direction, his amber eyes glowing with humor. "Everything alright over there?" he purred to me.
"Oh, yeah!" I purred back, giving the ThunderClan leader a shrug. "Just your typical Goldenshine and Jayfeather bicker of the day."
"Then it sounds like it's already been a pretty normal morning," Bramblestar observed, his voice full of laughter as he turned his head to look at me. "Is everything else going okay?"
I took a deep breath, then giving my leader a single sharp nod. "Just fine!" I replied cheerfully. "The dawn patrol and the hunting patrol that I sent out should be back well before sunhigh if there isn't any trouble. And if there is, I'll be out in the forest with Lilypaw to catch it."
Bramblestar nodded back at me, his gaze (luckily) now full of approval. "Wonderful," he replied, giving me a flick on the ear with his tail. I then watched as he looked over his shoulder, his gaze resting on the dark ginger pelt of Squirrelflight as she emerged from the Highledge and leaped down to the camp floor.
He then looked back at me, dipping his head in farewell. "Thank you, Lilypetal," he meowed, turning around to approach his mate, where she currently stood near the fresh-kill pile.
"Sure thing!" I called back to the ThunderClan leader as he sat down next to Squirrelflight, helping her to pick out the best catch for the two of them to share.
And simultaneously, I had to hold back a mrrow of laughter as another cat seemed incredibly eager to leave the fresh-kill pile, running up to meet me as quickly as they could. "Hi, Lilypetal!" Lilypaw purred, sitting down in front of me and wrapping her tail around her paws. "I'm ready to go whenever you are!"
I raised my eyebrows back at my apprentice. "Already?" I purred to her, glancing back towards the fresh-kill pile. "You ate that prey rather quickly!"
I then tilted my head to the side, cocking a single eyebrow as Lilypaw then shyly looked down to the ground and began to shift her paws back and forth. "Well..." she murmured more quietly. "I didn't finish it..."
I then burst into laughter, stepping forward so that I could give Lilypaw an affectionate lick on the ear. "Oh goodness, Lilypaw," I sighed to her, her enthusiasm continuing to blow me away each day that I trained with her. I seriously wonder how ThunderClan dealt with it when I was an apprentice. "You're lucky that I have the patrols sent out, so I'm ready to go too!"
I then pelted past the gray tabby she-cat, beckoning her forward with my tail. "Come on!"
I then proceeded to lead Lilypaw out into the forest, which was now brightly lit with the sun, that was now well-risen and high up in the sky. And although it was gracing the entire forest with its warmth as much as it could, a slight breeze shifted the trees - an indicator of leaf-fall, that would soon be approaching.
But the sun was still as bright and radiant as any day in the very heart of greenleaf, and for the first time since waking up, and since sharing prey with Thornclaw, I was finally able to take a breath, and take in this beautiful morning.
Since I'd become deputy, sometimes moments like this would be the only time that I'd get to do something like that, considering how busy I'd become.
But I didn't care. In fact, I loved the hustle and bustle. I loved the fact that I was able to help my Clan in this way.
And also, I loved the fact that I was able to do all of it, knowing very well that Ashfur wouldn't be able to bring a burden to any of it anymore. And because of that... I don't think I've ever felt so happy and free in my entire life. Even more so than when I first joined ThunderClan.
I then quickened my pace, my heart leaping with nothing but good feelings, no fear or apprehension at all, as I led Lilypaw deeper into the forest, her smaller figure just a tail-length behind me.
But we weren't running for very long. Actually, I found myself coming to a complete stop with a certain landmark that caught my eye. I slowly shifted my gaze, letting my eyes rest on a certain, very special trail that led to a place that I knew very well.
And I quickly realized that I needed to follow that trail. "Lilypaw?" I meowed, flicking my gaze back towards my apprentice as she stared back at me in confusion. "Do you mind having a go at hunting all by yourself for just a moment?"
Lilypaw's blue eyes seemed to light up at that prospect. "Great StarClan, sure!" she squealed. But she quickly grew calm again, her expression revealing concern. "But how come? Is everything okay?"
I quickly flashed my apprentice a reassuring gaze. "Oh, don't worry; everything is perfect." Absolutely perfect. "I just want to check on something," I then explained, suddenly welling up with eagerness as I began to make my way up the trail. "I promise that I'll be right back. Stay in this area, and if any cat asks - I'm just a little ways up this tail at the greenleaf Twoleg nest!"
"Okay!"
I looked back at Lilypaw one last time, watching as she whirled around, surely eager to begin her search for prey, before continuing my travel on the dirt path ahead of me, the pawsteps that I needed to take feeling strangely familiar.
And just as I knew that they would, they led my straight to the greenleaf Twoleg nest that I had mentioned to Lilypaw - the very same one that I had once lived in many, many moons ago now.
But now, it carried a very different meaning to me than it did when I lived in it.
And I'd only been staring at its brick walls, and its white picket fence for just a few heartbeats when I heard rustles in the grass come from the trees just beside me.
Oh, dear.
I froze in my place, and I felt the fur on my back begin to rise. "Who's there?" I called out to the trees. "Lilypaw, is that you?"
"Lilypaw?"
I whipped myself around to face the voice that I'd heard, and was completely shocked as I immediately recognized the black and white pelt of my brother, Oreo, emerge into the clearing.
His hazel eyes were gleaming with amusement as he padded up to meet me. "Uh, oh. You being second-in-command in your Clan hasn't made you crazy, has it?" he then meowed, his eyes narrowing. "You seem to be talking to a figment of your past self."
"Oh my goodness, Oreo! Hey!" I exclaimed, my heart welling up with so much excitement and happiness as I pelted up to the tom and touched noses with him. "What in the name of StarClan are you doing here?"
"Hey, Mistpelt isn't the only distant family member of yours that wants to stay connected with you!" Oreo purred, having been informed on the dreams that our mother had sent me beyond her death. "I slipped away from my house, and found myself wandering towards the forest to see if I could run into you again."
He then sniffed, giving me a light nudge on the shoulder. "Wow... it went a lot better than anticipated."
I nudged my brother right back, a purr continuing to rise in my throat. "No kidding!" I exclaimed. I then let out a snort, nodding back towards the trail that I had arrived from. "And by the way, I wasn't talking to myself - Lilypaw is my apprentice! She and her siblings turned six moons old about a quarter moon ago."
Oreo stared back at me, his eyes full of humor and amazement. "Well, how about that? My sister isn't crazy!" he murmured. "But it sounds like ThunderClan is, considering that they gave you an apprentice with the same name as you."
Then, after the two of us shared a mrrow of laughter, Oreo flicked his ears and began to flit his eyes around our surroundings. "But anyway, what are you doing here?" he then asked me, nodding towards the Twoleg nest. "You're not one to look at a house as longingly as you currently are."
I let out another small purr of amusement, following my brother's gaze as he stared back at the nest. "And you'd be correct - I'm most certainly not, but..."
I then let out a sigh, finally being able to reflect on my motives for coming up here in the first place. "I don't know, I just... looking at a Twoleg nest doesn't necessarily have to disgust me, you know?" I meowed, speaking my thoughts out loud as they came to me.
I then flicked my ears as I tilted my head to the side. "I wanted to come up here to kind of... blow my own mind, I guess," I went on. "It's still so crazy to think that a Twoleg nest was all that my life was, at one point. And now..."
I then looked back at Oreo as I began to shake my head slowly. "Now, I help to lead a group of wild cats out in the forest." Little kittypet Lily would once be so shocked to hear that I'd do something as little as jump over the fence...
She had wanted to jump over the fence for so long, yet she had no idea just how much jumping over the fence would bring her once she did.
I actually found myself having to push down emotion as I let out a shaky sigh, giving my brother yet another nudge. "I'm telling you, Oreo - the life of a warrior is one like no other," I murmured to him teasingly. "There's a reason why I keep pestering you about joining it!"
Oreo let out a huff beside me. "Oh, I know, Lilypetal. But..." My brother meowed, hesitating slightly. "I also don't know, you know? I've definitely thought about it, but... I'm quite happy where I am."
I then watched as he shifted his gaze to look back towards the direction I assumed he'd come from. "And... well, it's just... nice," he went on after a moment. "I'd rather not leave everything that I already have as a housecat."
I couldn't help but let out a small purr of amusement, slightly humored by the fact that Oreo felt obligated to explain himself so much. "I completely understand," I reassured my brother as I put the tip of my tail on his shoulder. "I just like to try when I get the opportunity!"
I then had to hold back another purr as another thought crossed my mind - one that had sparked from Oreo's talk of his life in the Twolegplace, and one that had first come about just a few quarter moons ago. "But if you don't mind me asking..." I murmured after a moment. "What's so tough for you to leave behind?"
I then slowly began to pad in a circle around my brother, flashing him a very obvious, teasing look. "Your housefolk? The food? Your friends?"
I then paused. "Certain... she-cats, perhaps?" I then watched, amused, as Oreo flicked his ears, looking utterly bewildered as he stared back at me. "Mistpelt has informed me on certain things," I then muttered, winking.
Oreo let out a long, hoarse sigh, and closed his eyes. "Good gosh."
I took a step closer to the black and white tom, feeling as if I had to probe just a bit more despite my brother's obvious discomfort. "So... was Mistpelt correct?" I asked warily, my head tilting to the side. "Is there a certain pretty kittypet that's strutted into your life?"
Oreo gave the smallest shrug, breaking his gaze from mine to stare down at the ground. "Hm. Get back to me in a few moons, and then I'll update you on that."
I purred with amusement as I then wrapped my tail around my brother's back. Ah, the beginnings of falling in love with a cat... strange and exciting, but always extremely complicated.
I then stared ahead, my ears flicking with surprise as I nearly seemed to be blinded by something that the sun was reflecting on in the distance. Something that lied just beneath the white picket fence of the Twoleg nest. "Whoa..."
Oreo quickly lifted his head back up, clearly relieved by the change in subject. "What?"
I slowly stood up, beginning to pad towards the small object. "Great StarClan..." I murmured, staring in complete bewilderment as I almost instantly recognized the small woven piece of fabric. And connected to it, was the almost miniscule, shiny object that the sun had reflected against. Is it really...?
I then hesitantly lifted my paw, using it to grab the object off of the ground so that I could look at it more closely. "No way..." I breathed, my eyes slowly widening. "My old collar..." I'd recognize that bright pink string and gleaming silver thing anywhere. I mean, it was wrapped around my neck for what felt like an eternity.
Oreo trotted up to join me. "Your old collar?" he questioned, his hazel eyes wide with awe as he began to examine it closely. "The one you wore as a kittypet? What is it doing here still?"
I narrowed my eyes as I thought about my brother's question. "Well, I suppose that it's been here since..." I trailed off for a moment, still processing the fact that this object that represented a life of mine that now felt so distant, still existed. "Since I first decided to take it off."
"Did you take it off the day that you left to go into the forest?"
I then sniffed, tilting my head to the side. "I didn't, actually... it was a few days before," I recalled out loud.
I then set the collar back down, taking a few pawsteps back so that I had a full view of not only the collar, but the fence and the Twoleg nest that stood behind it. "I just... I had a feeling that soon I was finally going to gain the courage to leap over this fence," I went on. "I had a feeling that something was going to change, and..."
I then lowered my gaze, looking down at the collar once again. "I suppose that taking off this collar represented what could be a new beginning, in a way."
I then looked back at Oreo, prepared for him to tell me that my words sounded absolutely crazy. I mean, every kittypet that I spoke to in the past about my forest fantasies most certainly would have.
But as I should have known he would, my brother simply stared back at me, his eyes glowing with admiration and awe. "Well, I'll be darned," he nearly whispered, just before snorting with amusement and lashing his tail towards the collar. "I'm sure you want to get rid of that old thing now, huh?"
I narrowed my eyes once again, shocked that I hadn't instantly wanted to agree with my kittypet brother. "You know, what?" I murmured after a few moments. "I don't think that I will."
I then turned away from my brother, looking back down at the collar once again as my heart began to well up with warmth. "It... it kind of reminds me of all that has changed for me, and it represents how I finally was able to ignore all of the teasing I received for wanting to leave my housefolk, and find the life that I'd been meant to live." In a strange way, it's almost like Mistpelt's dreams...
Both had done so incredibly much to remind me of how much I'd been able to grow once I'd finally had the courage to get past my own fears, not care what others thought, and let the determination and desire that had been burning inside of me finally take over.
And with that determination, I brought it to ThunderClan, where I could definitely say that my life truly began. For the first time in my life, I found something, and someone... many someones, that I was passionate about, that I wanted to fight for.
Heck, I'd never even thought about fighting anything before I'd left my housefolk.
And now... I thought, my heart seeming to grow as I stared back at the Twoleg nest. My passion has led me to find my home, find a family, so many friends - family and friends that I fought an evil fox-hearted demon to defend, and it's led me to be able to help lead them, I've found so many cats that I admire and look up to...
The list could truly go on forever.
And it was all still there, waiting for me once I left this Twoleg nest. How amazing is that?
I then let out a long sigh, my eyes beginning to well up with emotion as I then stared down at my collar again. "Yes..." I nearly whispered, not even sure if Oreo would be able to hear my hoarse meow. "I'm definitely going to keep this right here."
