Sunpaw waited by the entrance all next morning for Moonlily to arrive but their was no sign of her. "Cats of SparkClan, gather around the Sky Rock for a Clan meeting" Mallowstar's voice called. Sunpaw raced over to the Sky Rock. "Moonlily has not appeared, I will send out a search patrol. Crystalshine, Nightwhisper, Snowpaw and Sunpaw. You will be the patrol" Mallowstar said. "But Snowpaw and Sunpaw are apprentices" Brakenclaw called. "You should only take warriors on a search patrol" Brackenclaw challenged Mallowstar. "This is my choice, and leaders word is law" Mallowstar said fiercely. "Do you not know the Warrior code?" She asked. "Yes i do Mallowstar" Brackenclaw said lashing his tail. "Crystalshine, you will lead the patrol. Clan dismissed" Mallowstar said. Sunpaw was bursting with excitement. He ran over to Snowpaw. "We are going on our first mission" Sunpaw said to Snowpaw proudly. Snowpaw's eyes gleamed. "You two, calm down, eat some prey then meet me by the camp entrance" Crystalshine said to them. Sunpaw quickly ate a shrew and then raced over to Crystalshine and Nightwhisper. "We will go to the FireClan border first" Crystalshine announced. "Ok" Sunpaw said, happy becuase he didn't want to go near CloudClan because they might find her with Thunderhawk there. He knew he should tell the warriors about Moonlily, but he just couldn't. They padded to the FireClan border and Crystalshine said "we will wait for a FireClan patrol to come. We will seem less hostile them" Crystalshine said. After waiting for not very long Thistleflame, the FireClan deputy along with Cinderfur and Yarrowleaf. "What do you want?" Thistleflame growled. "Are you holding Moonlily?" Hostage Crystalshine asked calmly. "No" Thistleflame spat "why would we want your mangey cats?" "Well ok then, thanks for your help" Crystalshine said. "We will keep a lookout for her" Cinderfur said kindly. Thistleflame glared at her and then they went back to their patrol. 

"We wil, check out CloudClan now, but I don't know why they would want her" Crystalshine said confused. "Maybe a fox of badger got her." Crystalshine suggested. Snowpaw and Nightwhisper both whimpered at the thought. Sunpaw was nervous as they neared the CloudClan border. "I can smell her!" Snowpaw said exitedly. "There is also CloudClan scent there" she said her gaze turning to worry. Nightwhisper rushed to her sisters scent. "It's Thunderhawk's scent" she said. Sunpaw was so worried that she was goi g to be found out. Fear scent seeped from his pelt. "What could she have been doing with Thunderhawk?" Crystalshine asked to no one in particular. "Her scent is leading towards out side of Clan territory" Snowpaw said sadly. "Excellent tracking Snowpaw." Crystalshine said trying to be positive. "She.. left us" Snowpaw croaked. Crystalshine sighed and Nightwhisper just whimpered again. "We best go back and share the news" Crystalshine said quickly trying to get Moonlily out of their minds. 

"Moonlily has left SparkClan" Crystalshine announced to the Clan. "But why, none of us know" she concluded. "Snowpaw needs a new mentor. Cloudberry will take on Moonlily's duty" Mallowstar said. "We will all miss Moonlily, she has her reasons on why she left. Everything will be as normal" Mallowstar said solemnly. 

SparkClan was shaken by Moonlily's dissapearence. Snowpaw and Nightwhisper get a break from their duties to grieve. Sunpaw went to visit Snowpaw every day. When he was just going into the den he heard Cloudberry growl. She was on guard duty. "Why are you in our camp?" She hissed. Cloudberry was talking to 2 CloudClan cats at the camp entrance. The cats were Dewclaw and Silverheart. "Thunderhawk has gone missing. We were hoping you knew were he is" Dewclaw stammered. Sunpaw shot Snowpaw a look and their gazes both turned to worry. "You were right" Snowpaw whispered.
