"But why do I have to come?" Bay whined.

"Because, the hunters need guards to keep them safe." Hawk smirked at Deer.

"That's only because the law won't let us learn to protect ourselves!" Shell defended her mentor.

"It is true," agreed Bay "But I could still teach you."

"No! It is against the law of WaveMover!" Deer shot her a disapproving look.

Bay sighed. Maybe Shell was her friend, but she was so obedient and well... Boring. She wouldn't even step outside without a real cave-guard! Even Berry was more daring than her. Shell was probably the least dangerous cat in The Tribe of Stormy Seas.

"BAY!" Hawk was looking at her, probably disappointed by the looks of it."You have to pay attention! Shell is small enough to be grabbed by a eagle or falcon. You'll never become a real cave-guard like this."

Bay let out a sigh. "Yes Hawk." And immediately drifted back into her thoughts.

Sorry for the short chapter, these first few are just to introduce the characters. I promise they'll get better!
