Emerald P.O.V

I groaned in pain when I landed on the grass on my back. Shit. This hurt like bitch. I lied there for a while until pain subside a little. I was lying on my back looking at the blue sky. I can hear birds chirping, grunting of deer, scraping on woods. For a movement it was peaceful , I closed my eyes breathing in the fresh air. I can literally taste nature on my tongue. 

Suddenly I heard a loud scream from somewhere in the forest. I quickly stood up groaning in pain when my back started hurting again. But I ignored the pain and ran in the direction of where the sound came from. Tree barks were scraping my skin when I ran past them but I didn't heed to them. My first priority was to reach to that scream, it was my first instinct to help that person because that scream was of fear. 

When I reached there, I saw a young girl probably seven or eight years old. She was backed against a tree and a wolf was stalking her way, baring his sharp teeth in her direction ready to pounce. Without thinking, I pushed myself in between the girl and wolf. 

Wolf looked startled for a second but quickly regained his posture back. Now he was baring his teeth at me. 

"Are you okay?" I asked to the girl without looking at her.

 My whole focus was on the wolf. He was brown color enormous wolf. 

"Yeah" she whimpered. 

Now what. I don't have powers anymore. 

By looking at the wolf, I can conclude he will devour me whole without any issue. 

Think Em. Think . 

Running is not an option either. He will easily catch up to us. Girl behind me moved a little and held my jacket. She was shaking in fear. Tears were running down her rosy cheeks. I inhaled deeply and pushed my right leg forward bending in attacking position. I am a Sabriyan, I can fight with a wolf even without my powers. Wolf took the same position growling at me.  I leap in his direction and pinned him down. His eyes are of surprise and then suddenly he turned us over pinning me on the ground. I groaned feeling pain in my back. His saliva dripping down on my cheeks. Ew. I quickly held his muzzle by my right hand so that he couldn't bite me and my other hand was holding his front paw. He was trying to get out of the hold. He raised his free paw to attack me but before that I kicked him with full force and stood up in an attacking position. 

He quickly stood up as well growling louder this time. Maybe I bruised his manly ego. Without wasting any second he lunged for my neck. I quickly get out of the way which resulted in him being slammed into the tree behind me. He whimpered from the pain. I looked towards the girl for a second, she was in the same position sobbing. I went towards her and took her hand in mine and started running in the other direction. I know that wolf will be behind us in no time. But at least we have a little head start. That girl didn't ask any question and ran with me.

I can hear the sound of paws running behind us. I tried to quicken our speed but the little girl tripped over a branch but before she could fell forward and hurt herself. I dived in front of her catching her in my arm falling on my back. I groaned from the impact. My already bruised back was hurting more now. "We have to go" I murmured to the girl. She nodded and stood up, I followed her and again took her hand in mine ready to run when I felt an impact on my back making me fell face first on the ground.

 "Ow" I cried out in pain. 

There was a body weight on me and I can hear growling above me. He caught up to us. I tried to wiggle out of it but he was heavy. Now what ! He is going to end my life any time. I never thought this would happen. Its not only an hour and I am already in danger. 

Very safe place Father.

 "Please leave her" little girl cried. 

This is not happening. 

I pushed with all my strength making the wolf toppled over. I got down on my knees, breathing heavily by now. Sweat was running down from my forehead and I can also feel a thick liquid making its way from my forehead to my chin. I touched my head winching in pain. When I looked at my hand it was covered in blood. Shit. I balled my hand in fist and stood up. Wolf was standing before me and without any time wasting he lunged at me again. But this time I was ready, I punched him in the face with all my power and he went flying two feet from the ground. I huffed, my right hand hurting from punching him. But the stubborn wolf stood up again shaking his head and growling at me. I can feel my body swaying a little. The wolf was again ready to attack when we heard another growl from somewhere which made the wolf freeze in his spot. 

Another wolf . 

I can't fight him on my own. 

Girl quickly ran towards me and hide behind me. I took an attacking stance again even if my body was against it. But then a miracle happened and the wolf growled at us one more time and turned around running back. I looked at the place where wolf was standing just a minute ago in alert position not believing that he left us that easily. But when I see no sign of him coming back, I sighed in relief turning to look at the girl. She was looking at me worried. I kneeled in front of her smiling a little. My eyes were dropping but I was blinking them to stay awake. "You are fine little girl" I said sending a small smile in her direction. She was still looking at me with worried expression. "But you are not" she whimpered looking at my face or more specifically at my forehead where blood is still leaking from my wound. That's why I am feeling drowsy right now. 

"I am fine" I murmured and then everything went blank.

I growled lowly when  light came straight at my face. I don't like lights falling on my face when I am sleeping. "Some body close the window" I muttered annoyed turning to the other side when a sudden pain shoot through my back making me open my eyes gasping in pain. "Damn" I whispered sitting in the bed. 

Bed. Where the hell that came from? 

I looked around me, I was in a room where walls were of blue color and the bed I was lying on was King sized with the white pillows and blue duvet with pale blue bed sheets. I frowned looking around. Last time I remembered I was in the forest saving the little girl. 

Little girl! 

I gasped and stood up from the bed winching a little but I ignored the pain and went to the door and turned the knob and to my relief, door was opened. I pushed the door open and looked outside. There was corridor on my left side and a stair case on my right side. I quickly took the stair case and ran down stairs in a steady pace. At least my legs are working fine because my right fist was bandage up as well as my forehead. When I put my foot on last stair, I saw living room in front of me with a television on. And a boy around my age was sitting on the couch in front of T.V and was watching some kind of game. 

And now you guys were thinking that how I know about T.V. and other stuff. Well we did live in other dimension but we study about every kind. And one of a kind are humans. I remembered reading about them in my history class. Well as selfish as they sound, their inventions are intriguing. First I have to figure out where am I? I sneak behind the boy, he was too engrossed in the game to notice anything. I quickly put my hand on his neck in choking position. He began spluttering at the sudden attack. "Who are you?" I said in threatening tone. "And where the hell am I?" I continued without waiting for the reply. He was choking and tapping at my hand, face becoming red. "Tell me!" I asked again. When suddenly I realized that he can't speak in this position. 

I quickly took my hand away and he bend down on his knee on the floor coughing and tried to get air in his lungs. I felt little bad for doing that. But it was my first instinct. After taking large breath, he turned towards me and glared at me "Are you insane!" he yelled and coughed afterward. I shrugged my shoulder at his question. He looked harmless to me but my guards are still up. "Where is the little girl?" I asked instead looking at my surroundings. He was still glaring at me. "You mean Kayla, she is outside with Mom" he said in annoyed tone. 

Pretty name.

"Who got me here?" I asked him while walking from the side of the couch and sitting on it. He was still staring at me and then he sighed "Me and thanks for saving my sister" he said with gratitude. So that little girl, I mean Kayla is his sister. Well they have little similarities. 

"I am Kyle by the way" he said forwarding his right hand towards me. I looked at him weirdly. What he want me to do with that. Break it. I smirked at that thought. He frowned at me "You have to shake it" he said like it is obvious. Weird. I put my hand in his hesitating a little. His hand was soft and warm. He shook our hand. Then raised his eye brow at me "And you?" he questioned. Oh. "My name is Emerald" I said bowing a little in front of him. He looked at me weirdly. Maybe they don't do this here. But in our Kingdom when we introduced our self, we bowed to each other out of respect. I shouldn't have skip the class in which they were teaching us about human's custom. I thought they were useless. "Okay"  he dragged the alphabet 'K' a bit looking at me. 

"Kayla, she is awake" he shouted looking at the door, must be front door. It was already open, I can clearly see outside tree from here. Suddenly Kayla appeared at the door smiling at me. She ran towards me and I stood up from the couch. She hugged me but her head only came to my waist. So she wrapped her arms around it. "Thank you for saving me, Angel" she said happily in her sweet tone. I smiled back wrapping my arms around her small frame. After breaking the hug, I kneeled down in front of her "Its fine sweetie" I replied genuine smile on my face. Then I saw a woman standing at the door smiling in our direction. I stood up from my kneeled position when she started walking towards us. Kayla quickly went beside her and took her hand in hers.

"I am Bethany, and thanks for saving my daughter" she said smiling at me, forwarding her hand towards me. I looked at Kyle who was standing a little distance away from me smirking in my direction. This time I didn't waste any second and shook her hand introducing myself in the process. 

"Take a seat Dear" she said gesturing to the couch behind me. I nodded and sat down on the couch. Kayla joining me while her mother sat on the seat diagonally from mine. Kyle was in the same standing position. "Son, sit down" her mother said to him. He looked to be in deep thoughts, after hearing her mother voice he took the seat opposite of me. And they started asking me questions about my home. Why I was in the forest etc etc. I quickly made up a fake story. I told them that my parents banished me from home. At 'banishment' word, Kyle raised his eyebrow and told me that I used words from the medieval time and Bethany laughed. I ignored him obviously, I don't know much about modern words and their life style. I have done reading but it is far from being practical. I also told them I have nowhere to go which is basically truth and I was lost in the forest. Bethany was kind enough to let me live with them until I will find myself a home. She also sympathize with me about me being alone. I thanked her for providing me a roof. She just smiled at me.

Right now I am lying on bed in the same room in which I woke up earlier. I was confused right now because when I was telling my story Kyle was looking at me like he didn't believe a word that came from my mouth and believe me when I say that I am a damn good liar. I will have to stay away from him for the time being. I sighed closing my eyes and relaxing after a long time. 

This will do for the time being.
