I was still lying on the ground looking upward, my mind elsewhere. She died saving this world but she was the one who put us in this condition in the first place. She got what she deserved, she was a monster killing people for fun. She killed William without any remorse. She doesn't deserve peace. Tears were leaking from my eyes but my mind filling with negative thoughts about her.

She was an angel for god sake.

But she got kicked out from her home because she didn't deserve to be there.

She made this place.

She is the one who destroyed it after thinking that she owned this world.

I tightly shut my eyes and shaking my head to get this thoughts out of my head. She is gone now forever, I shouldn't think about her like that. But these negative thoughts are plagued into my brain like a disease. I feel a light touch on my shoulder, my eyes snapped open seeing my mate face in front of my eyes looking at me with concern. I quickly sat and pulled him into a bone crushing hug, needing his touch to make my worries go away.  "Are you okay?" he whispered, his face buried in my neck. "I am fine now" I murmured not breaking the hug. I crave his touch now. I slowly gave a feather kiss to his neck. His body freeze by my touch and he quickly broke the hug looking at me, I raised my eye brow "What happened, you didn't like my touch?" I asked raising my eye brow in question. His eyes suddenly changed into his beast eyes and he looked at me in shock and put his hands on my shoulder firmly.

What happened to him all of a sudden!

"What did they do to you?" he asked alarmed, shaking my shoulders. I stared at him in confusion, I am fine, nothing happened to me, everything is fine now. "What do you mean?" I said pushing his hands away and standing on my feet. He stood up as well looking at me with worry. "You are not okay" he stated, my feet automatically went backward wanting to be away from him all of a sudden, his gaze is making me feel uneasy. "What do you mean, I am totally fine Chase" I replied staying away from him. Just then others joined us as well.

Caleb, Aunt Cassy, Father, Alexander, Katherine, Amrada, everyone surrounded us. Aunt eyes went to water fall and she sighed in relief but her body went rigid when her eyes met mine. My own eyes pulled back in confusion. "She is not fine" Aunt said, shock lacing her tone. I am fine, what are their problems?

"She is carrying so much negative energy" she said to Chase in low voice but I still heard her with my enhanced hearing. A frown appeared on my face "What do you mean Aunt?" I asked, my voice hostile, they are talking about me but they are not telling me. Father looked at me worried "Nothing Princess, Everything will be fine soon" he said in soothing voice which irritate me more. 

They are hiding something.

They do not want your well being.

They are all selfish. 

Voices filled my head, I groaned in pain holding my head. My eyes shut tightly. 

"What's happening to her?"

"Demons are consuming her mind".

"Do something".

They started arguing making my head hurts more. I yelled in pain, I could feel my eyes changing color. "Stop it" I shouted to them, their voice are like a razor to my ears.

Everyone suddenly stopped talking and I sighed in relief "Emerald, look at me" Chase voice fell in my ears. He was calmly saying this but in my mind it seems like he was antagonizing me. "Stay away from me" I yelled, my hands burning with fire. I looked at my hands which were burning with dark fire. I felt powerful and the power running in my veins desperate to be used.

Lets start then.

I throw the fire to the very first thing which were in my line of sight, before she could understand anything, my fire consumed her body, she yelled in agony. By watching her pain, A smirk formed on my lips. 

This feels great.

I feel great.

I called my fire power again feeling glee. I want to use this power more. I could still hear her cries, everyone trying to put the fire out but its not that easy. I chuckled seeing their useless attempt. 

I want more.

"Emerald" Chase yelled suddenly, his dark eyes boring into my own with anger. I freeze in my place, my mind clearing up a little. I blinked to remove the haze from my sight. When everything seems clear to me. I looked at front, my eyes widened in shock and I stumbled on my feet. 

"Katherine" I cried out running in her direction, her body burning in dark fire. Tears gathered in my eyes. With the flick of my wrist, I put the fire away. I get down on my knees beside her, every one around us. "I am sorry Katherine" I murmured taking her head and putting it on my lap. Her eyes were closed, her breathing was slow. Tears fell from my eyes watching her in this condition. "I am s-sorry" I stuttered crying my eyes out, her body was burnt and I did this. 

First I killed William and now Kat is in this condition because of me. 

"Princess, she will be fine" Father said putting his hand on my shoulder. I jerked his hand away. Nothing is going to be alright. I am dangerous, I can feel it in my veins. Darkness is spreading around me. "Nothing is fine" I whispered slowly getting away from Kat, putting her on ground.

"Em" Caleb said slowly walking towards me but I shook my head crying. I don't want to be near them, I can hurt them.

"I have an idea but it has risk for you" Rose said avoiding my eyes contact.

"I will do anything to save this world, even if its mean dying" I said without missing a bit. 

"You will act as a vessel for them" she said.

Rose told me that it was risky to be a vessel and I am still a vessel to demons. I don't even know how many demons residing in my body right now who are trying to take control over me. I cried silently, there is only one way to stop them.

I remembered Rose apologizing to me before she vanished away. She was sorry because she could't get all the demons out of my body. 

There is no other option for me now beside killing myself.

Otherwise, they will use me for the destruction and I won't let them do that. I quickly summoned my swords wishing that I am powerful enough to hold them, they appeared beside me laying on the ground. My hands shaking, a tear fell on the sword and vaporized. This swords are laced with un curable poison, they will definitely kill me. This is the only option I have, I can't let anybody get hurt because of me. 

"Emerald" Chase said coming towards me taking small steps like he is afraid that I will burst out. 

I have to do it now.   

I put my hand on my sword but quickly pulled away hissing in pain, skin on my hand burning. I am not worthy to hold this sword now. Chase quickly bend down beside me taking my hand in his. Mate bond made the pain bearable.

"I am a vessel" I said numbly, his body stiffen but he still caress my hand. "We will find a way" he said in gentle voice still being optimistic. "You don't understand Chase" I snapped pulling my hand away, my hand healed up.  "Demons are trying to take my mind, we don't have much time" I hissed when my eyes changed to black but quickly changed back to original color.

I can't stop them more.

"Cassandra, do something" Chase yelled when he saw my appearance. My nails were extending into claws. My skin changing color, something protruding on my forehead. I clenched my fist to stop the transformation. 

We will win this world.

Everyone will be our slaves

"No" I yelled shaking my head, blood started dripping from my hands, claws breaking my skin.

"She is transforming into a beast, Demons are taking control of her body" Aunt shaky voice said, When I looked at her, I saw her crying face. 

"There has to be a way" Chase yelled desperately when he saw me struggling. Aunt shook her head, I could see my father quickly making his way towards us.

"Save my Daughter, Cassandra" Father pleaded, tears in his eyes. My lips trembled seeing my father crying in front of me. "There is no way" Aunt cried kneeling beside me, her voice cracking.

"There is a way" I said in low voice. Everyone looked at me hopefully that made my heart hurts. "Kill me before they consume my consciousness" I said seriously, my body shaking. My teeth elaborating from my gums hurting my mouth. Chase growled, his eyes turning darker. "No one is laying a hand on you" he yelled clenching his fist in anger. 

"There is no other way" I murmured, my ears transforming into pointing one. 

"Cassandra, you are a powerful witch, there has to be some way" I heard Alex voice, he was also worried for me. "There is nothing I can do" Aunt cried tear falling from her eyes.

"Please" I said gritting my teeth in pain,  "I can't bear this much" I whispered, my voice hoarse. "No, no, no" Chase repeated holding my cold hand in his warm one. "Please, you are the only one who can do it" I said, smiling through tears pointing towards my sword. He shook his head denying my request. My legs started bending at awkward angle, making me cried out in pain when my bones started breaking. I can't hold this any longer. Chase is the only one who can wield my sword because he is my mate, he is the only one who can let me out of this misery.

My mate.

"Just kill me already" I whispered, tears leaking from my eyes. I would rather die by his hands than to become an abomination who will destroy this world.

"I can't " he shouted furiously glaring at me but his eyes soften when he took in my condition. He took my bloody hand in his shaking one "I can't, I am in love with you" his voice hold lots of emotions. My eyes widened hearing him say those three syllables, I have been waiting for him to say those words, but now, Its too late. I gave him a watery smile and blinked through my tears. 

"And I love you" I whispered back meaning every word. I have loved him for a long time now. I don't even remember when I started falling in love with him. But in my heart I know, he is the one for me. My heart, my life, my mate.

"I don't have much time" I growled, my voice demonic, I am on the verge on transformation.

My eyes changed to black, I can feel my soul was about to be darken forever by demonic power when suddenly sword plunged through my heart. My breath hitched in my throat, my mind clearing from all the negative energy. I could clearly see the world now without anyone entering in my mind. I was feeling numb, tears falling from my eyes. My body couldn't hold my weight and I fell down but Chase caught me in time and wrapped me in his arms. His body was wrecking with sobs. "Its fine" I murmured, black spots entering in my vision. I hold his hand in my shaky one "It doesn't hurt any more" I said with small smile. His tears fell on my face, I frowned, with trembling hand, I wiped his cheeks. 

"I am free now" I said, I can hear others crying as well. I want them to stop crying. Everything is fine now. Everyone is safe. One life against thousand is not worth it. 

"You can't leave me" Chase said crying , his eyes red in pain. I tried to smile through pain "You will be fine" I murmured, my breathing getting slower.

Third Person P.O.V

Chase cried holding her mate in his arms, she was taking her last breath. He killed his own mate to save this world. His only happiness, his love is dying in his arms and he can't do anything about it. 

"Chase, tell everyone that I love them" Emerald said slowly, breathing was getting hard for her. "I will and they love you as well" He said trying to smile in tears. 

She smiled and slowly her eyes leave the life and stared blankly ahead, her breathing stopped. Chase stare at her mate for a minute not believing that his mate is gone forever. She left him to save this world. Slowly Emerald's body vanished away and he was left with nothing. He stared numbly at the place where his mate was. He could hear others were crying for Emerald but he couldn't hear anybody, his whole world was shattered in one second.  

"No" he shouted in anguish, the beast breaking the barrier of restraint and coming forward. For the first time everyone saw the true form of Chase.

His beast.

Chase body changing into his beast, his eyes turning charcoal black. Black large Wings protruding from his back. Everyone looked at the scene in shock and within a minute Chase stood on his hind legs in his beast form growling at them breathing fire. The death of his mate made him numb and he finally give in to his beast.

He became the very first thing Rose was sent to destroy.

 He became the Dragon.
