I ran away from him, going towards the opening of the portal. Maybe I can do something or find a way to close it. I heard a distinct roar indicating that Chase is very angry at me for running away but I didn't have any choice. He wouldn't even let me fight in the War, how come he will able to let me close the portal on my own. He is protective of me but right now I don't need a mate who care for me, all I need him to let me go and when everything is over, I will get back to him.

When I was going towards the portal, demons attacked me, I barely dodged them, I don't have enough strength to fight them, Rose used all of my energy in doing God knows what. Maybe she fought Lucifer because I am not seeing the King of hell among the crowd. But in the blindness of revenge, she endanger my realm, my people. I trusted her and she broke my trust. 

I saw the beautiful waterfall within my reach, I quicken my pace but suddenly halted in my steps when I saw demons in a line growling at me ready to attack. I can not fight them in this condition. I looked around me, this place was less crowded, only demons lurking around. She took the fight away from the portal. But how come I stop this creatures and close the portal together. These demons suddenly launched themselves towards me, I called my elemental power to fight, my arms burning with fire, with a flick of my wrist, I called trees and plants tangling some of the demons in their harsh grip. I created a sword from my fire power and defend myself from the onslaught. Suddenly one demon latched onto my arm and sink its teeth in my skin taking a good chunk of skin. I cried out in pain and stumbled on my feet momentarily lost. Blood gushing from the wound. My fire sword disappearing due to my lost concentration.     

I blinked my eyes in pain and tried to shield myself from demons, I know Chase can feel my pain, he will be searching for me. I have to do something. Demons attacked me again and I closed my eyes ready for more pain, I waited for the pain but it never came. I slowly opened my eyes and gaped in surprise. 

Rose!

There she stood in front of me in her real self. Her wings shining in the day light. For the first time she wasn't within me but was in front of me in solid form. She looked more than real. "Rose" I whispered staring at her natural form. She turned around a little bit giving me a glance to her face which was not similar to mine. She looked same as I saw her in her memories, beautiful and regal.

"Sorry, I am late Princess" She replied giving me a once over, her eyes narrowing at my wounds. Before I could replied, Demons jumped at her, but with ease she made them into dust, my eyes widened in surprised, Wow.

There was a positive energy surrounding her which made me want to be near her.

Angelic energy.

"I thought you would never come" I said and slowly walk towards her limbing in pain, some bastard demon clawed my thigh as well. She grimaced and with a flick of her wrist put a shield around us. "About that, I was half dead, I thought I would never see you again, the spell I used to imprison Lucifer took a lot out of me and I blacked out. When I opened my eyes, I heard your plea and quickly came here to fulfill my promise" She said with sad smile. My lips trembled and I launched myself at her hugging her. Tears appeared in my eyes as her wings engulfed me. 

"I would never abandoned you like that" She said with intensity that I believed her. I broke the hug and looked at her wings in awe, question pooling in my head. "How are you standing in front of me in your true form" I questioned her, genuinely confused. She lost her smile and frown appeared on her face. She put her hand on my shoulder "Lets not talk about that, we have an unfinished business" She said glaring at the demons who tried to break the shield but in vain.

"What will we do?" I asked her.

She gave me a look, her eyes were red with pain "I will close the portal". 

"What about the demons who are spreading around this realm like a wild fire" I asked alarmed, It will take time for us to kill them and until then they will create havoc and destroyed the place. 

"I have an idea but it has risk for you" she said avoiding my eyes contact.

"I will do anything to save this world, even if its mean dying" I said without missing a bit. I am a Princess, I was raised to protect people even if I die saving them. I will accept it.

 She nodded her head "I will put an essence of my angelic self in you that will lurk the demons towards the portal until then I will stop the demons coming out of the portal and when the demons passed through it, I will close it once and for all" she said solemnly. I was confused, we will attract this demons but how they will pass through the portal. As if she read my mind, she answered my unasked question.

"You will act as a vessel for them" she said, my eyes widened, I will be a vessel for this gruesome creatures, not even one but thousands of them, this is absurd, what will happen to me?

I will die!

I stare at the ground with faraway look. 

"I won't let anything happen to you" she said worried for me, a slow sad smile make its way on my face. She cared for me and I always thought her as a monster. I know she was vengeful but she is now free from all the burdens, she could have left us to rot but she came back, for me. "I know" I replied and hugged her once again or maybe last time. 

"Lets do this"

 Third Person P.O.V

Rose once again engulfed Emerald in her wings, white bright light emitting from her and entering in Emerald's body. She was transferring her essence in Emerald. A tear fell from her eyes knowing she will never meet her again. This is the last time she is seeing this world with her own eyes, after that she will be gone forever.

Rose is barely alive, she used every part of her being to stop Lucifer and she succeeded, dying in the process. But she couldn't pass through the land of soul knowing that she made a promise to Emerald to save her world and she was failed to do so. When an Angel made promise, they fulfilled it at any cost. So God gave her one last chance to do what is right. 

She is here one last time to save this world, one last time to do what she was sent to do from the heaven.

One last time!

Emerald could feel the changes happening in herself, the energy healing her deeper wound and giving her relief. She felt Rose breath hitched, she broke the hug and looked at Rose in concern, Rose eyes were moist with tears but she still gave Princess her genuine smile.

"I have never met a person like you Emerald and thanks for being with me" she said caring her cheeks. Emerald looked confused for a second not understanding Rose behavior. "I am sorry to put your life in danger from the time I latched myself to you" she continued.

"But I want to tell you from now on you are free, you have put your life on hold because of me but not anymore" she said, tears falling from her eyes. She is going away and that's a good bye to the person she cared deeply. 

"I love you my little Princess" Rose whispered one last time giving Emerald a loving smile, Emerald was confused but she smiled nonetheless "I love you too Rose".

With that Rose put out the shield and fly towards the entry of the portal putting her arms in front of her, Emerald stayed in the same spot not knowing what else to do. Suddenly sky turned darker, wind started blowing wildly, she could hear Rose muttering spell under her breath. She started walking towards her ready to do her part. She barely walked two steps when suddenly she felt the push behind her and she cried out in pain, her knees bending on the ground. Force of demons started entering in her body attracted to the angelic power. She yelled clenching her hand around the grass and holding them tightly, her mind filling with negative feeling. 

Rose looked towards Emerald and saw her on the ground withering in pain. Her lips trembled but she stay focused on her spell. She moved her right hand towards Emerald snatching the demons from her inside and throwing them in the portal. Suddenly she felt her legs wobbling, she knew her time is near. 

"I am sorry" she whispered and her body turned into ashes slowing disappearing from the view, portal closing after her imprisoning the demons again in their world. 

Emerald fell on the ground breathing heavily, she turned to look at the portal but there was only waterfall and no Rose in sight. She turned around to search for her but she was gone.

In her heart, she knew Rose was gone forever. She glared at the ground in sorrow, her half self is gone forever. She always thought Rose as a burden but now she felt empty because she was attached to her. Tears started falling from her eyes and she cried for the loss. 

She cried for the protector who once again save this world.

She cried for the Angel who never felt happiness here.

She slowly lie down on the ground feeling tired, she looked towards the clear sky. Her eyes widened when she saw the smiling face of Rose in the clouds, She smiled looking at her.

Finally she found her peace.
