Emerald P.O.V

"You killed William!" A new familiar voice screamed from the doorway. I stumbled on my feet and stared at her in shock not believing her words, but looking at the grim face of other people in this room, I knew it was true.

I killed my own best friend.

My knees gave out under me and I fell down on the floor, my body shaking as sobs comes out of my mouth. My vision started blurring and tears cascade from my cheeks. I felt someone kneeling beside me and taking me in their arms but I was too lost to register the touch. 

"I killed Will" I murmured to myself shaking my head in denial and looking through my blurry vision to my hands which still have Will's dry blood. I try to get rid of the blood by scraping my hands until it bleeds covering my hands with my own blood. A hand stopped me from making further damage to my hands. "You are hurting yourself" his voice sounded worried but I ignored it.

"You killed my mate" Annalise said standing above me, her voice was cold and pained. "I would never forgive you, I hope you would die just like you killed my mate, I hope someone will rip your heart out" she said angrily pointing at me. Her eyes were filled with anger but I could see the pain in them. 

Did I rip his heart out?

 "Stop it, Annalise" I heard Chase yelling at Annalise but she was still throwing the hurtful words at me and I mostly deserve them.

 I killed Will.

I killed my best friend.

I killed the person who was always there for me, I ripped his heart out, the same heart that was filled with love for me.

I cried my eyes out thinking about the memories I shared with him. "It wasn't you" Caleb said, his footsteps coming closer, I pulled myself away from Chase embrace and looked at Caleb with guilt "But it is my fault, if I have controlled her, nothing like that would have happened," I said, my voice breaking, I looked at him, he kneeled down beside me and hugged me which I don't deserve one bit. "I am sorry," I said continuously and hugged him back craving the warmth because my body started shivering suddenly. 

Rose, what have you done!

I asked her hoping she would give me some valid reason or something, why did she kill my best friend without thinking twice. For the first time in my life, I was ashamed of myself for giving in to this ruthless monster who knows only destruction.

"You need rest, lets get you to my Chamber" Chase said picking me in his arms, I didn't struggle when he picked me bridal style, my body didn't have the energy to lift itself up. I rested my head on his chest, tears still leaking from my eyes. 

"We will discuss about the problem later" He said to everyone and without waiting for anyone response, he started walking to the exit. "We don't need to discuss anything, she need to die, it will solve all of our problem, by having this much blood on her hand, I don't think she can live with it" Annalise said bitterly stopping Chase in his track. I pulled my head from his chest and looked towards Annalise with guilt, she looked at me and glared dagger with her eyes. "W-what do you mean?" I asked, my voice sounding weak to my own ears. She chuckled coldly and opened her mouth to respond when Chase cut in between "Enough" he yelled, his eyes flashing with anger. "I told you that we will talk about it later" he said gritting his teeth towards Annalise, she scoffed and looked at me "Why, your precious mate can't handle the truth" she snapped, her eyes filling with tears. 

"No".

"Tell me".

We both spoke at same time, I looked at him pleading, all self respect went out of the window, I need to know the full truth. He stare at me, his eyes soften and he wipes the tears from my cheeks "Not now, sweetheart, not now" he murmured soothingly and suddenly I felt a pressure on my neck and darkness clouded my vision. "You need rest" that was the last thing I heard before I was sent into a dreamless sleep.

Chase P.O.V

I looked at the sleeping form of my mate, her body looks so fragile in my arms and I tighten my arms around her, placing her head on my chest, her breathing normal, tears still burning at the edge of her eyes making me sighed in pain. I gave one last glare to Annalise and walked out of the room.

She doesn't know when enough is enough. I know she lost her mate  but she can't blame all it on Emerald. She is directing her anger towards the wrong person. If she was some one else, I would have thrown her in the dungeon for speaking to me in this tone. But I can't because she is the same woman that was beside me when I needed comfort, she was the one who would have been the Queen to this Kingdom but now I can't think about having any relationship with her. I can't look at any woman besides the one in my arms who slept peacefully. 

I looked at her beautiful face, she looked tired but she is still the most beautiful girl I laid my eyes upon. When I first saw her in the Witch town, I was mesmerized by her, I have never saw someone like her in my entire life and I have fair share of women before Annalise came in it. I wanted to treat her like a princess, like a mate but my mind didn't allow me. I had commitment towards Annalise and my Kingdom and I couldn't just take a enemy to be their Queen so to made her hate me, I treated her poorly, whenever I am in close proximity with her, I felt the bond between us cackle with fire, to control myself I started snapping at her, always make her feel unworthy. But she never once back down, she always responded me with her fierce come back that made me more attracted towards her. As the time pass by, my eyes always searched for her in the room full of people, Annalise started getting angry with my distant behavior but I ignored her.

I ignored her advances towards me making her more angry towards Emerald because she thought Emerald is the reason I was changing slowly and I very well know that its the truth but I couldn't let her see and then she will hurt my mate. But now I don't care, Emerald is my mate and she will be the Queen by my side. 

I put my hand on her soft yet cold cheek, "Everything will be fine, I will make sure of that".

"Do you really think, It was her, It was Emerald?" Alexander said, his voice caution looking at me in question. We were sitting in the throne room discussing the matter about Rose. I have left Emerald to sleep in my chamber, two guards guarding the door, so when she wake up, they will alert me. Alexander, Red head Witch, Emerald's Father, Caleb were sitting around me, I clearly told everyone that I don't want Annalise around me because I am angry at her and I don't want to lash out on her in this condition when she is still mourning for her mate. 

"Yes, she is my daughter" King Lorel said frowning at Alexander, looking at him like he is absurd to entertain this idea.

 "But, maybe Rose is playing with us, she can't go easily without a fight" he propose looking around us.

"Even if she is, we have to be ready for her, Rose is very sneaky" Caleb said clenching his fist in anger. 

"What do you think Chase?" King Lorel asked staring at me curiously, by now everyone was looking at me. I sighed "She is not our Emerald" I said finally, everyone eyes widened in shock, Alexander looked calm like he knew it from the start and Alyssa, the Redhead, she looked tense all of a sudden. 

Maybe she afraid about her well-being.

"Why do you think that?" King Lorel said, his jaw clenched, he was afraid to lose his daughter again. 

Me too, but first I want to bring her back.

"When I was in my other form" I started about what I noticed "When Emerald came back, her aura was dark but it wasn't engulfing her, it was around her. It is the same aura which always stay with Rose as her shadow, So I think she is still in her control and she doesn't even know it yet" I said my observation. In the last month, I have known Emerald very much, so I can definitely tell the difference and my powers came in handy. Every one beside Alexander looked shocked with the revelation. 

"W-will she come after me again?" Alyssa stuttered, her body shaking in fear, Alexander put his arm on her shoulder to comfort her. I narrowed my eyes at the scene, this Redhead is so powerful, why is she acting like a weakling. Ignoring it, I focus my attention on the important task at hand.

"You mean, she did this all because--" Caleb asked suspiciously. I nodded my head "Yeah, she wanted me to take my beast back so that she can plan her escape and she knew it can only happen if Emerald comes forward" I said confirming his suspicion. He nodded grimly in acknowledgment.

"Let me take my daughter back, I will find a solution to tame Rose" King Lorel said standing up from his seat, I let out a growl when I heard him saying that he will take Emerald away. He frowned at me "She will be safe with me" he said firmly, his hand itching to go to his sword on his hip. I chuckled humorously "Save!" I muttered glaring at him. "You kicked your daughter out of her own house when she needed you the most" I accused him standing up from my seat as well. His face turned into regret "I did what was best at that time" he said, his voice strong and he stood straight in front of me, I scoffed "Best my ass".

"When you don't know about truth then you shouldn't accuse some one" Caleb said speaking for his dearest King even if he is not his rightful King. 

"Care to enlighten me then" I said raising my eyebrow, King Lorel eyes glare dagger at me and he pinched his lips in irritation. 

"She broke the law by forcefully entering in your kingdom even if her motive was pure, there were doubt and fear in the people of our kingdom, they were thinking now that we are on the brink of fight with our worst enemy and they thought our king will be biased because the guilty is his daughter this time" Caleb said narrating what actually happened that time.

"And I did what was best for both" King Lorel said clenching his jaw and staring at me.

At first, I just assume that Emerald was kicked out of her kingdom because I found her in the Witch town roaming around. I never knew she was the princess but when I came to know about this, I asked my sources to find everything about her and they didn't disappoint. I found why was she thrown out of her Kingdom because she messed with our kingdom. I wouldn't have declare a war after finding out Rose belong to this kingdom because I only wanted Rose, she was the one who caused problem to me not her kingdom. 

"I agree with you" I said hearing his side of story, he gave me a small smile of appreciation "But I still won't let her come with you" I said without any emotion. She would be safe here with me. Only I am the one who can face Rose. His smile vanished and frown appear on his face.

"I get that, she is your mate but -" he started saying, "When you know she is my mate, then why are you arguing on this" I interrupted him, to which he gaze at me furiously "I can keep her safe, I am the only one who is capable enough to face Rose, you should go home and protect your kingdom and your people" I said, not caring if he start a war with me. 

"And I promise, I will keep her safe" I said with determination.
