Cas turned sharply to see Hadrian leaning against the doorframe to the kitchen. He inhaled deeply to calm himself before approaching Hadrian.
"How do you know the Ancient language of the angels." Cas demands, standing scantly a foot from Hadrian.
"Because I am of the Ancients."
"Impossible. They were all killed-"
"By a rogue angel." Hadrian cuts in, getting angry. "Thankfully, they missed one!"
Hadrian bared his teeth at Cas and the angel stepped back. A flash of lightning from the storm outside revealed the shadow of wings behind both Castiel and Hadrian.

Hadrian sat in his almost too quiet house and slowly began to fill the empty space with music.
A song created solely about God on his lips. The tune was long since forgotten in Heaven's gates yet one all angles knew. Hadrian knew it could be herd by all the angels and give away both his location and status of an Ancient after so many centuries, but he also knew it had to be done.
The song must be sung now that the apocalypse was nearing closer like a cat stalking it's prey.
And so he sat down at his piano and played. Singing as he once had long, long ago.

Cas, whom had been thinking over what he'd learned during his short encounter with the last Ancient.
Then, he herd it.
Closing his eyes, he listened and felt his grace crying out like a cherub for their parent.

Michael's eyes fluttered closed at the first note, his mind going back to a time when Heaven was full of life, love and music. A time when angels looked after each other in love and expected nothing in return.
A single tear rolled down his cheek. A time when the Ancients would sing amongst Heaven's gardens.

Lucifer closed his eyes and allowed the song to soothe him from within his cage.
He knew this song. Knew the lyrics by heart, knew the Ancient that sang it and, most importantly, he knew the song meant war was on the rise.
Tilting his head back, Lucifer did something he hadn't done in more than a decade...he prayed. Prayed to his Father for forgiveness and for his brothers and sisters be spared from the war.
He felt the song sooth the brokenness inside him as the tears he'd fought since his fall ran down his cheeks.
His Father had forgiven him.

Balthazar felt...content as the long-forgotten song filled his heart with love and understanding. Understanding for how he felt and love for just being alive.
He smiled. His first true, genuine smile since the fallout of his brothers. And he cried.

Gabriel...Gabriel felt safe. Cared for.
The song comforted his soul, filling with grace and love and understanding. He relaxed into the soft caresses of music and allowed himself to cry. For himself and for his brothers.

God closed his eyes, a bittersweet smile at his lips.
He had missed all his children since his self-imposed exile, but the Ancients were what he missed the most. They were fair, loving creatures that vaulted family above all else.
Then, he felt...sorrow from his wayward son, Lucifer.
God smiled again, feeling his eldest son's varying emotions to the song. Felt each of them shed a tear as the song came to a close.
