I was woke by the smell of waffles. Oh my god! Today's my birthday! I had completely forgotten yesterday's mishap. I peeled out of my clothes and changed into this:

I rushed down the stairs to see my dad cooking waffles. He looked up and smiled at me. "Happy birthday sweetheart" I grinned happily. I quickly ate my food as I hurried outside. I skateboarded to school stopping when I saw the gang. Jack looked me up and down. "Your wearing a skirt what's the occasion?" He smirked. "You know....it's a very special day" I hinted. They all looked lost. "Right....well if you need me I'll be in class" I sighed walking away. I guess no one knew it was my birthday. I walked to my first class, theatre. I saw Jack. He smiled and I returned him with a short one. He looked at me confused. He began to walk over but stopped when the teacher walked in.
"Alright class settle down!" She ordered. "As you know this is theatre so I will assign groups and you will act out a scene of my choosing!" She explained. "Jack, Penelope, Kim you three are a group, you will do Cinderella!" she announced. I walked over to them. "Jack can be Prince Charming" we decided. Kim and I looked at each other. "I'm Cinderella since I'm blonde, and you can be an ugly stepsister since you look the part" she smirked. I rolled my eyes. "Right....well whatever" I groaned. So far this is the worst birthday ever. We walked onto the stage. "I wonder where my fair maiden will be" Jack pondered. "It is I, Cinderella" Kim announced. "Are you sure? We must test it out" he pulled out my shoe from yesterday.
Kim glared. "I guess we shall" she tried to squeeze her foot into it and it did not work. I tried to sneak off the stage. "You there! Maiden why don't you try" Jack pointed to me. "I'd rather not" I sighed. "Why is the maiden sad?" He asked. "Maybe it's because she's not pretty enough?" Kim offered. I glared. "Or maybe it's because my best friends forgot it was my birthday!" I exclaimed. They went silent as I stormed off the stage. Jack grabbed my hand. He went down on one knee. "Please will you at least try" he held out the shoe. I sighed but nodded. Slowly I began to ease on the shoe. It was a perfect fit. The class gasped. "I knew you were the one" Jack breathed.
He began to lean in. I went in as well but stopped. "Sorry Prince Charming, but you remembered my shoe, not my face, also true love would know when there dates birthday is" I took off my shoe and set it down on the stage. I then walked off. The teacher didn't stop me. I sighed as I leaned against my locker. Jerry spotted me and walked up. "What's up Pennie?" He asked. I looked up at him. "Nothing....." My voice trailed off. "It's your birthday you shouldn't be upset" I stared him straight in the eyes. "I guess Kim told you huh?" I asked. He shook his head no. "Actually I just remembered" I smiled. "At least I have one friend" I pulled him into a hug. A person cleared there throat. I turned to see Jack. "What do you want?" I asked. "Pennie I'm really sorry......" He apologized. "Sorry doesn't cut it Jack" I snarled. "Please just come to the dojo I'll make it up to you" he pleaded.
"Fine" I sighed as he cheered. "See you after school Jerry" I waved.

After school......

  I skateboarded to the dojo to see all the lights out. Maybe this is all some prank. I walked in and flipped on the light switch. A bunch of people jumped out. "Surprise!" They yelled. I gasped in shock. I saw the gang and a few close friends. Jack spoke first. "I'm sorry for what we put you through but it was supposed to be a surprise" he explained and I forgave him. Kim turned to me. "Pennie....I'm really sorry for how I've been acting" she apologized. "I'm sorry too.....I waltzed in and started hanging with Jack..." I smiled. "Let's just start over ok...?" She asked and I agreed. Some song started playing and she gasped. "This is my jam!" She squealed and started doing some random dance move. I looked away. Ok......
Then my song started playing. "This is my jam!" I squealed like Kim. "No! Not another Kim!" Milton shouted covering his eyes. It was worth it by fifth harmony. I did this dance to it:

Milton gasped as he uncovered his eyes. "That was amazing!" He squealed like a little girl. I giggled. "Thanks Milton" I then heard an announcement. "Presents!" Someone shouted. Kim handed me her present. It was a friendship bracelet. I smiled thanking her. Then Jerry went. He got me a brand new leather jacket which I put on. Then Milton went. He held up a copy of Harry Potter. "I pulled a few strings and got it signed" he smiled. "She's not going to want some book Milton" Jack scoffed but was cut off by me squealing. "Thank you!" I hugged him.
I am a major Gryffindor. Jack was last. "I...um wasn't sure what to get you but I went with this" he held up a gold heart locket. He went behind me and moved my hair aside placing it on me. "Happy birthday" he whispered in my ear. I flushed red. When I opened it I saw a picture of me and Jack dancing with each other at the cotillion. "Jack....I love it!" I smiled hugging him. After a few hours I went home and went to sleep.
