Chapter 3: Scores

-Hollyleaf-
Hollyleaf followed the Thunderclan trainer as she led them down a large passage in the building. This was the second to final day before the Warrior Games and everyone was nervous. But today was different. Today they would all be given their Game Scores and then interviewed the next day. Hollyleaf had been practicing using the weapons and reciting herbs and their uses. She wasn't very good with the tail Slasher but it worked. She noticed multiple cats had been gathering into groups, propably alliances. She hadn't found the time to ask Dovewing and Bumblestripe about joining her and Lionblaze's alliance. She noticed that the two kits had stuck together, as had Rushpaw and Boulderpaw.

Hollyleaf shrugged it off. Willow turned a corner and directed to one of the entry ways. Hollyleaf walked into the room to see the rest of the tributes.
"Brook! Jag!" Hollyleaf turned and saw Lionblaze running over to two familiar cats.
"Lionblaze! They chose you as well!?" Jag asked, eyes wide.
Lionblaze solemnly nodded. "They also chose my sister, Dovewing, and Bumblestripe." He reported and Brook's face fell.
"I-I am sorry that they have done this to your clan." Jag muttered and Lionblaze shook his head.
"Its happened to all the clans. Even the remains of another one." Lionblaze explained the four mystery clan cats and Brook's face twisted to a look of horror.
"They can't do this! They're just kits! Its unfair and cruel!" Jag snarled, outraged.
"Nightcloud. Your next." A cat called and Nightcloud nervously shuffled into the room with her while Heathertail walked out.
"Good luck." She whispered as she passed her clanmate. Hollyleaf saw Lionblaze's fur bristle as the she cat passed by him. He would probably be the first to kill her.
Don't think like that. You won't kill unless its absolutely neccesary, like the warrior code says.
Hollyleaf told herself and settled down as she listened to Brook explain their reaping.
"Talon and Pebble!" Brook called and the two other Tribe tributes sat down beside her before each were called in seperately.
--
"Hollyleaf?" Hollyleaf tensed up, her claws digging into the ground before she sheathed them and walked into the room.
The room had a ledge of sorts in the corner where a collection of cats sat with a bunch of different edibles. Hollyleaf took a deep breath and walked over to the herb store. The Game Creators were chatting amongst themselves while watching Hollyleaf curiously. She grabbed the Nightshade and the Death berries and used a rock to crush them into a pulp. Then she grabbed a hollow stick. She had picked up this trick while working at the herb store. She then attached a bee's stinger to it and stuck it into the clump of poisonous herbs and put it into the stick.

She held the stick up to her lips. The Game Creators looked startled, wondering if she was about to poison herself, honestly, she would love to but then another cat would take her place. She inhaled before blowing into the stick as hard as possible. The poisoned stinger flew forward, launching itself into the dummy she was aiming for. She smiled and set down the stick and walked away, leaving the Game Creators in a state of shock.
--
Hollyleaf laid by the pond. The other Thunderclan cats were sitting with her, watching the pond with apprehension. They weren't interested in the other tribute's scores. Then Dovewing's face appeared in the puddle.
"Dovewing with a score of 7." A voice said and Bumblestripe's face appeared as well.
"Bumblestripe with a score of 6." Bumblestripe's gaze saddened and Dovewing gave him a comforting flick of her tail.
"Lionblaze with a score of 9." Lionblaze puffed out his chest proudly.
"Hollyleaf with a score of....11?!" The anouncer sounded equally confused as Hollyleaf was. Willow and the others jumped up and let out yowls of happiness. Hollyleaf smiled in embarrassment. Than she remembered. Those with a higher score could be considered threats. And the score didn't mean much more than being praised for murdering a cat in cold blood. The thought made her shiver but she still kept a smile. The games hadn't begun. But they would soon.
