Characters: Rusty, Smudge

*scene opens with Rusty standing at a fence, looking over it towards the forest, a voice calls over from the side*

Smudge: "Heya, Rusty"

Rusty: *still not looking to the tom* "Hey, Smudge*

*Smudge comes over*

Smudge: "So, we staring at the forest today?"

Rusty: "No- well, yes? I don't know"

Smudge: "What's wrong, buddy?"

Rusty: "I just... had this weird dream. I was in the forest, and there was a mouse, and these other cats, but they weren't Kittypets!"

Smudge: *looking over with shock* "Sounds kinda scary."

*Rusty walks away, going towards the middle of the stage*

Rusty: "I... I want to leave*

Smudge: "Whoa, whoa, whoa, Rusty! Out there is brutal! That place there ain't a place for housecats like us!"

Rusty: "But, Smudge! I could almost taste it! I felt so free"

Smudge: "Rusty, it was a dream."

*music starts, with a carefree and preppy tone*

Smudge: "The life of a Kittypet is easy. We get fed three times a day, have our ears scratched twice, just don't give us a belly rub or we'll bite. We have the high life here, and you're just going to throw it away?"

Rusty: "Smudge-"

Smudge: "What about treats and play toys! Our litter boxes and beds, Rusty if you go out, there's no telling when you'll last be fed."

Rusty: *groaning* "Smudge, please"

Smudge: "Oh, the life of a Kittypet is easy. When the weather gets cold, we lay in the fire's glow. Or if you're like me, on the couch pillows."

*Smudge hops up on the fence, Rusty joining him*

Smudge: "Out there is horrid! A disaster, a nightmare! With leaches, ticks, and fleas, you die out, believe me! The wilderness isn't a place for Kittypets like us, so just live the life a Kittypet does."

*Rusty look back to the fence*

Rusty: "Live the life like a Kittypet does..."

Smudge: "Now you got it! To live the life a Kittypet does"

Rusty: *looking down, slightly rocking back and forth as he gets ready to jump down* "To life the life a Kittypet does"

Smudge: "Say it with me!"

Smudge and Rusty: "To live the life a Kittypet does!"

Rusty: *jumping down* "To live the life a wild cat does"

*music stops, Smudge is looking with wide eyes as Rusty runs into the forest*

Smudge: "Wait, Rusty!"

*End of the song*
