Runningwish trotted over to the apprentice den.
 "Seapaw!" Runningwish called. The black she-cat apprentice turned to look at her mentor. She seperated herself from the group.
"Yes?" She asked.
"I'm going to take you hunting." Runningwish purred. Seapaw smiled brightly. She turned to her siblings.
"I'm going hunting!" She called out in excitement. Her siblings started cheering for her and Runningwish chuckled. She and Seapaw walked out into the forest together.
"Are you supposed to hunt mice differently then you would hunt a bird?" Seapaw asked. Runningwish glanced at the the black apprentice.
"With mice you always want to be slow and steady, but fast enough that you catch them before they run off on their own. With birds it takes a little more stealth and quickness." Runningwish explained. Seapaw nodded.
"So what am I going to hunt?" She asked. Runningwish chuckled.
"Whatever we find first." The brown tabby stopped and turned to Seapaw.
"This is a hunting crouch. The first step in hunting." Runningwish lowered herself to the ground. Seapaw mimicked her.
"Step two, you move your paws lightly so you don't alert what you're going after." Runningwish said, moving her paws carefully. Seapaw watched her and copied. Runningwish straightened and nodded to her with approval.
"Now lets go find an unlucky target." Runningwish teased. Seapaw grinned and followed after her mentor.
The brown she-cat stopped when she had caught the scent of a bird. Runningwish glanced back at her apprentice and tilted her head, signaling to her that there was prey nearby.
Seapaw smelled the air. She scented the black bird and got into her crouch. She went a little farther before pouncing at it.
The bird panicked and tried to get away but Seapaw struck out and caught it. She killed it and glanced back at her mentor.
Runningwish bowed her head.
"Great job." She praised. Seapaw smiled.
"Can we keep hunting?" She asked, dropping the bird in front of Runningwish.
"I don't see why not. The more fresh-kill the better, right?" The tabby joked.
