Tigertooth stopped. Goldensky looked up at him with worry.
"What is it?" She asked quietly. The large tom narrowed his eyes as he looked around them. They were on their way to a thunderpath so they could cross into a two-leg area.
He heard something. Tigertooth felt something in the back of his mind trying to pry itself free but he ignored it for now.
"Nothing. We need to keep walking." Tigertooth said. Goldensky nodded and followed closely after her mate.
Sunscar trotted after Firestar. His illuminated pelt was hard to loose in the wilderness and she was thankful for that.
He was fast, like he didn't get tired, and Sunscar was having a hard time getting past all the tree roots and bushes that got in their way.
Firestar glanced over his shoulder at her occassionally, probably to check if she was still there. She had been doing her best to scan every new opening they came across, trying to see if there were any traces of Tigertooth.
She would see glimpses of what looked like black fire on leafs here and there, as if his pelt had brushed against them.
She didn't think she had to worry to much about it though, keeping track of where Tigertooth was going that is. Firestar seemed to be tracking him by scent on his own and had Sunscar along for the ride.
"Tigerstar is trying to take over..." Firestar said. Sunscar glanced at him.
"How do you know?" She asked. Firestar looked back at her.
"His scent is getting stronger." Firestar said, he looked back in front of him and narrowed his eyes.
Tigerstar wouldn't be very willing at first. He worried he might try to attack him, he didn't want to risk Sunscar or Firesong's body getting harmed before the battle started.
He paused and slowed his pace. Sunscar caught up.
"Did we catch up with him?" Sunscar asked. Firestar slowly shook his head.
"I was surprised by Goldensky's scent. I forgot she was with him." Firestar said and picked up pace again. Sunscar was a bit dissapointed but fell in behind him.
"Do you know anything about your mother?" Firestar asked. Sunscar blinked.
"Not anything more then what Runningwish has told me." She said.
"And what has she told you?" He persisted.
"She.. was lively..? Runningwish told me she never seemed to run out of energy." Sunscar said, watching Firestar's tail sway in front of her face.
"What about her and Tigertooth's relationship?" The ginger tom asked, leaping over a few fallen branches. Sunscar ran around them and walked beside Firestar.
"Well all I have ever heard is Goldensky loved him. Enough to go into excile with him." The gold she-cat shrugged.
"I don't really know how they fell in love." Firestar nodded and glanced at her.
"Love is powerful. I don't know how some cats end up falling for each other, but it seems she is rather commited to him. And Sunscar, don't let anyone tell you that is a bad thing." Firestar said. She looked up at him and saw a wistfulness in his eyes as if he was reliving a memory of his life.
