Chapter 15

Runningwish, or rather Mapleshade now, trotted out of camp eagerly. She half expected to die on this mission after being caught like a mouse under a root. She dared to say she was excited to carry out their plan.
Snowtuft appeared not long after, sitting inside Goldensky. Mapleshade smirked.
"We're lucky our hides won't be handed to us. That apprentice being gone is going to make things a lot easier.." Snowtuft nodded.
"Thistleclaw will be pleased." The tom said. Mapleshade narrowed her eyes and turned away from him. Thistleclaw would be pleased but Mapleshade felt disgusted at the thought of that tom being delivered a victory.
"Now all we have to do is get Voleeye alone and cut his precious orbs out of his skull..." Snowtuft spoke up, dragging Mapleshade out of her thoughts. She eyed the she-cat Snowtuft was in. She was fluffy, her face almost delicate if Snowtuft wasn't making her sneer.
"We need to stay under cover in their clan. We need to figure out how these she-cats acted so we don't trigger Voleeye against us." Mapleshade said and Snowtuft growled in resentment.
"We will be wasting time! Thistleclaw would want us to kill him off now and run for the Shadowclan border." Mapleshade snarled harshly at him.
"We can't take risks like that! And we have the time now to do this properly with that Starclan apprentice gone. We will do it steadily. We will not get caught. Do you understand?" Mapleshade demanded rather then asked. Snowtuft glared at her before nodding and looking away.
"Fine. But I will not stay in this form longer then four nights. And Thistleclaw will have our heads if we keep him waiting to long." Snowtuft warned his partner in this mission. Mapleshade watched him.
"Go and learn about Goldensky." She muttered to him. Snowtuft turned away sharply and headed back to the Thunderclan camp.
Just before Goldensky's form and Snowtuft's mind escaped Mapleshade's sight, another golden she-cat appeared. She had come from the direction Snowtuft was heading and paused. The warrior glanced back before looking to Mapleshade.
"I'm sorry if I was interrupting something..." She said softly. Mapleshade eyed her, just that statement alone told her enough about Runningwish and Goldensky's relationship for her to understand how to act around her new, and apparently, very distant sister.
"No, you're not. Goldensky came to tell me something, thats all." Mapleshade said, shining a small, fake, smile toward the gold and black spotted she-cat.
"Alright... Well anyway, I wanted to ask you if I could join some training with you and Seapaw." Cheetahstep asked. Mapleshade nodded slowly.
"Sure." She said. The two cats headed toward camp and Mapleshade found herself trying to memorize the path there so she wouldn't get lost trying to be this she-cat warrior. When they reached the camp Cheetahstep called for Seapaw as the two older she-cats waited by the entrance.
The black apprentice ran up to them.
"Are we doing some hunting, Runningwish?" The apprentice asked. Mapleshade had to get used to being called by another warrior's name.
"No, we'll be doing some training." She paused as she realized she didn't know where the training area was.
"Why don't you lead us there today?" Mapleshade asked quickly, trying to keep herself from looking suspicious by not knowing the territory. Seapaw smiled brightly.
"I would love to lead us there!" The apprentice said, though her excitement seemed a little more controlled then most apprentices Mapleshade had seen before. Mapleshade motioned with Runningwish's paw for the apprentice to take lead, a small smile naturally appearing on her face.
