Candy is a former kittypet, who now lives alone in the woods. She is the kindest, sweetest cat you'll ever meet. But one day, a misunderstanding may change her life forever...

A Prophecy Foretold is about a kittypet who was abandoned by her Twolegs and left to die in the woods. But Candy survived, made a few friends, and is currently carrying a litter of kits. Candy is doing well, up until the Clan cats arrive. They tell Candy and her friends that they are searching for "a cat as sweet as honey, who will be responsible for a coming darkness." that will save their Clan. Candy's friends blurt out her name, and the Clan cats kidnap her to take her back to their Clan.
Candy is kept as a prisoner, in a cold, stone den no bigger than a rabbit burrow. She is fed once a day, and only scraps from others. The leader said that until she gave them the information they needed about the "coming darkness", they would hold her hostage. Of course, she knew nothing of the prophecy, and told the Clan cats this, but they ignored her. Only when Candy gives birth is the prophecy made clear...
She only had one kit, a pure black tom with dark amber eyes. The Clan takes him from her the day after he is born, insisting that he is the "coming darkness." They tell Candy that once he is dead, she can leave. But Candy can't accept this. They stole her life, starved her, and tortured her, but they would not steal her kit.
The night Darkkit is supposed to be drowned, Candy sneaks out of the prisoner den to save him. She manages to get to him, and get him to safety in her old home. She is there for no longer than a day when a RiverClan patrol finds her and murders her. Darkkit lives with his mother's friends, and will grow up on stories of the Clans' tyrannical ways.
The prophecy was about Darkkit, but the Clans caused his evil actions. In the sequel, Darkkit, now named Shadow, will avenge his mother by plotting against the Clans...
