"Reedstar! Intruder!" a loud yowl awakened me from my slumber. I leaped to my paws as Bumblestripe burst into the camp, panting.
Behind him was a orange and white she-cat. Snarls could be heard from behind me as the Clan gathered, staring at the she-cat. I meowed gruffly, " Why did you trespass on our border?" The she-cat met my gaze without flinching. I was surprised by her boldness as she responded, "My name is Kryst. I am-"
"She's a kitty pet! Drive her out!" Spiderleg snarled, lashing his tail.
I opened my jaws. I tasted the air. She was indeed from the twoleg place. Kryst bristled.
"I lived in a group like yours! I'm a rogue!" she snapped, " I'm no kitty pet!"
  "Then why are you here?" a low growl sounded from behind me. Cherryfall, my mate and my deputy, stepped forward.
  "I heard of you and I liked the idea of living in a big group like yours. My old group.."
  I stared into her hazel coloured eyes as she continued, "My old group disbanded and I have skills you may need or want so I thought of joining you."
  "Who said we will let you join us?!" a few cats growled.
  "We drove other rogues out too so we should drive her out as well.." murmured Cherryfall, glancing at me.
  I wanted to agree but somehow, I couldn't say that. I was frozen in her beautiful hazel-coloured gaze. She looked at me without pleading. She was a proud cat. Maybe she did have skills we could use.
  "Why not we let her stay and see what she can do? If she's really as helpful as she claims, then we can take her in." I finally meowed, tearing myself away from her eyes.
"What?! Another rogue?! Reedstar, you're mad! Drive her out!" there was a immediate outcry at this.
  Even Cherryfall was glaring at me. I leaped up onto the Highledge and hissed as the crowd turned towards me, "She may very well be useful! Besides, she says she has lived in such a group before! She can stay for a few days before we decide whether to drive her out or not!"
  With that, I leaped off the Rock and went to Kyrst. She mewed, "Thanks Reedstar."
  I wanted to snap at her and tell her that it was all her fault that the clan was angry at me but staring at those beautiful eyes of hers, I couldn't. I gave her a nod.
  "No problem. But you will still have to prove yourself to them. Im Reedstar and that ginger she-cat there is my deputy and my mate, Cherryfall. You can go and know the other warriors better. " I introduced before walking away. Cherryfall glared at me as I approached her.
  "Why did you let her stay?!" she cried, narrowing her eyes, "You drove other rogues who claimed that they have skills away! Why let this she-rogue stay?! Is it just because she is a female and you pity her? For all you know, she may be spying for other clans!"
  I narrowed my eyes at her.
  " I just gave her  a chance to prove herself."
  With that, I stalked to my den.
