38. Moth Flight
Thanks to Tide_Star for suggesting this cat!
Moth Flight never really stood out to me.
While I like her story, being the first medicine cat and all, and it was relatively creative, my appreciation for her pretty much ended after her book.
Perhaps it's because she, like so many other characters with potential, lost her personality once the focus had gone. I suppose it's probably because her insecurity was only shown in her book since she kept it in.
I'm afraid I don't really have much to say about her. I did like her narrative voice, and I thought her story with Micah was pretty sweet, but honestly, she just didn't stand out to me.
In Squirrelflight's Hope, we do meet her again, briefly. She is one of the judges for Squirrelflight and Leafpool's acceptance into StarClan. She seems cold, unforgiving and slightly rude, which surprised me, as I certainly don't remember her doing anything like that. Leafpool broke the rule that she put into place - that medicine cats could not have kits - and I just can't accept that, had a cat like Pebble Heart or even Acorn Fur, who she was jealous of for a time for being close with Micah, made the same mistake, she would not forgive them.
Of course, this probably isn't something wrong with the character, but rather how she was portrayed. Inconsistencies in personalities tend to put me off when I notice them, unfortunately.
So there you have it. Moth Flight, the soft-spoken, harsh, gentle, unforgiving medicine cat. Makes perfect sense, huh.

I'd just like to add that a lot of my opinions of these cats are changing with their books (and also with me being older and able to understand more about the writing and not just read them from their blatant actions) so you may find that I will publish chapters containing my updated opinions on those cats. If you want to know if I've got more to say, please, feel free to request that, too.
