Or, maybe I should be saying no thank you. Because - you're probably not surprised by this - I hate Rainflower.

I mean, with Crookedstar as my favourite tom, how could I not hate her?

I don't think I'm going to say much about her, simply because all my feelings about her can be summed up in a few simple points:

• I hate her because she rejected her son for his appearance.

• I hate her because she showered her more good-looking son with more praise.

• I hate her because she once showered Crookedstar with that praise, so not only was he not loved, but he also knew what it was like to be loved, making the absence of his mother's love only more painful.

• I hate her because she is somehow in StarClan despite her awfulness towards her son. Okay, maybe she didn't kill anyone or have murderous wishes, but it is often said that the worst type of abuse is emotional abuse. A mother that neglects her kit because he doesn't look as nice as her other kit is definitely emotionally abusive.

Does that tell you enough about why I think she's horrible? Maybe not. How about some quotes to back up my points? Here:

"Her words sliced through Crookedpaw's heart like claws." Words spoken above- how Crookedpaw feels about them

"If you insist on Hailstar going ahead with the renaming ceremony then we are no longer mates. I will never share a den or a piece of fresh-kill with you again." Shellheart on Stormkit's renaming ceremony, to which Rainflower responds with, "Very well."

"If he'd stayed in camp he'd never have had the accident. Then he wouldn't be the ugly mess he is now. He'd still be my handsome young warrior." Rainflower to Shellheart, about Stormkit

... I could name at least twenty more. Looking at these quotes is making me get annoyed, refreshing my hatred of her all over again. However, there is one thing I must say: I don't think she deserved to die. I may hate her, and she may be one of my least favourite mothers (along with Palebird and Millie) but I never wanted her dead. Her death was still saddening because it was fulfilling Mapleshade's sick idea of a prophecy. While she neglected Crookedstar and seemed to think that he was disgusting and inferior, he still seemed to care for her, in some strange way.

Look, I'm stopping this here. I could go on forever, but up until now I've been having a good day, so let's just leave it at "I hate her", okay?
