Contest Entree (#7): TheBudderDragon
"Bluefur, its cold out here," Mosskit whined.
"Stop complaining, Mosskit!" Mistykit replied with a annoyed roll of her eyes. "Stonekit and I wanna win the game-- and you're NOT going to ruin it!"
Bluefur sighed, "Mistykit, be nice to your sister."
I looked at my sisters. Bluefur had taken us out the nursery so we could play a game; We had to escape from ShadowClan warriors!
"In the tree! A warrior!" I gasped dramatically, looking at a very big tree.
Bluefur looked at the big tree quickly and nervously. "Really!?" She asked.
"No, its part of the game," I purred.
Bluefur sighed in relief. What was her deal? We were escaping from ShadowClan warriors, why so worried? I shrugged it off. We continued to walk through the snow, and soon I started shivering from the cold. Mistykit was shivering, and her and Mosskit were staying close together. "Bluefur its cold," Mistykit complained.
"Yeah, can we go back to the nursery?" I agreed. Mosskit didn't say anything, she just stood pressed against Mistykit.
"Keep walking, little ones. We're almost there," Bluefur said softly, pushing us gently.
"But Bluefur!" Mistykit began in protest.
"Hush now, save your energy for the rest of the game," Bluefur stopped her.
So we continued to walk, freezing our pelts off when I fell into a hole, Mosskit and Mistykit following soon after. We laid there, in one big bundle of fur. I was starting to get warm, and Bluefur poked her head into the hole. "Great idea!" She purred, "Stay here." And she ran off.
Of course I would stay here! Its warmer then out there, so I wanted to stay FOREVER! Bluefur soon returned and picked Mistykit up and took her somewhere, and came back for Mosskit. Now I was alone, shivering in the cold again, waiting for Bluefur. She came and picked me up, running somewhere and setting me down by Mistykit and Mosskit. The warmth returned just a little bit. Mistykit was probably the warmest because she was in the middle. This continued for three times, until Bluefurslowed down a little. Was she getting cold? Probably.
Bluefur picked me up, leaving Mosskit to the cold alone in the hole. Bluefur set me down by Mistykit, and I looked at her. Mosskit hadn't spoke, or moved, and it was scary.
Suddenly, I heard a heartbreaking yowl. Was that Bluefur!? I move to my paws, and tried to climb out the hole. I managed to get a hold and peek out only, trying to ignore Mistykit's cries of protest.
I saw Bluefur curled around a body, desperately licking it. She stopped, and she seemed very sad. I don't like seeing Bluefur sad; I hope this was the last time I'd see her sad. Bluefur stood up, and picked up the body. That was all I could see before Mistykit pulled me down. We curled up against each other, and Bluefur returned soon after that without Mosskit. She picked Mistykit and I up and took us out the hole. "We'll have to walk from here," Bluefur explained. Her voice sounded broken and sad.
"Where's Mosskit?" Mistykit asked.
"Yeah, where is she?" I asked.
Bluefur sighed. "Mosskit... is.. she.." She began.
"Is she dead!?" Mistykit asked, tears in her eyes.
"No, dear... She's-- she's resting," Bluefur said.
I knew she was lying. Because I really think that body was Mosskit..

We came to a river shortly after, where a tom stood. "Bluefur, I thought you'd never come," the tom said. I looked at the tom. Who was he? I hid behind Bluefur with Mistykit. The tom purred, "I won't hurt you, kits." Bluefur moved over so that he could see us.
"I thought you said there were three--?" He began, but the look in Bluefur's eyes said it all. "Oh," he said softly, and pushed Mistykit and I to him gently.
I was too tired to protest, and I think Mistykit was too. Bluefur turned around and ran, not looking back. "Bluefur! W-wait!" I managed to call after her.
Mistykit came to her senses, "Don't leave us!"
Its the last we seen of her, because she never came back.
