I dragged myself behind Swiftpaw, not too sure if killing the dogs ourselves is a good idea. When he mentioned the idea to the other apprentices, they disagreed but I came along, not wanting him to go alone. I was interrupted from my thoughts when Swiftpaw whispered to me, "Here we are, the dogs were most likely to be here." He pointed his tail to SnakeRocks. I folded my ears flat on my head as Swiftpaw bounded to the open. I yowled, " Swiftpaw! We need to hide then attack! At this point, the-" A snarl rang through the area and Swiftpaw's ears pricked forward. Just them, a dog burst from the tall grass, heading for Swiftpaw. I sunk back into the bushes as the dog ran in such a speed that everything I saw was in a blur. Then, more dogs emerged, all targeting Swiftpaw. I watched as Swiftpaw stood his ground, absolutely unsure of which dog will reach him first, so he could make his attack. But, he had no luck as each dog but and clawed him as he struggled to escape the jowls of the dogs. I crouched there, hidden within the shadows, absolutely horrified when blood splattered the clearing and the dogs backed away of what remained of Swiftpaw, a bloody corpse. Some of his blood had tinted my fur as I stood there, full of grief. For that long period of time, I felt nothing, all I saw was Swiftpaw's limp body. Just then, I heard a sudden movement behind me and I spun around, meeting a dog. I yowl in horror, only receiving a blow to my eye, sending me to a void of darkness.
