Chapter 4
When Dewfur returned to camp with his son he was stopped at the entrance by Yellowheart.
"Dewfur!" She gasped in surprise. Dewfur growled at her, intimidating her enough to get out of his way. He knew she let Littlebird out of camp. Dewfur took Whitekit to the warriors den and placed him in his nest and curled around him. Whitekit scowled at his father.
"What happened?" He asked. Dewfur sighed.
"Just sleep. I'll explain in the morning." He whispered. Whitekit pouted a moment but decided to wait. He laid down and closed his blue eyes.

The sun rose the next morning and Dewfur had taken Whitekit with him to Sandstar's den.
"What is it Dewfur?" The old golden tom asked. Dewfur placed Whitekit down and sat beside him.
"Littlebird abandoned us last night. She left Whitekit behind." Dewfur said. The graying leader blinked at him in surprise, his whisker twitched before he spoke.
"Why by the name of Starclan would she ever leave Thunderclan?" Sandstar asked in a raspy voice.
"She was... atracted to a different life." Dewfur explained lamely. Sandstar eyed him, then looked to his son.
"How old is Whitekit?" Sandstar asked.
"Four moons." Dewfur answered. Sandstar sighed.
"Then he already eats fresh kill. He doesnt need a replacement mother. Just have him stay by Ambercloud on cold nights." Sandstar decided. Dewfur nodded and picked Whitekit up and carried him out of the den.
Whitekit was placed in front of the nursery and Dewfur left him to go talk to another warrior. Whitekit pouted. So his mother had abandoned the clan because it wasn't good enough for her? He would prove her wrong. Thunderclan was a wonderful clan. He would become a great warrior so no one would look at him as Littlebird's son, but as a true warrior!
