Prologue
Amberdawn
A she-cat stood before Sealeaf, ThunderClan's old medicine cat and her former mentor.
"Amberdawn," Sealeaf said, her silver tail twitching, "You have made many reckless mistakes-"
I knew they were going to lecture me! Amberdawn thought bitterly, a growl threatening to rise from her throat.
"-But you have, also, accomplished many great things as well." She continued, proudly. "But we have more for you; a prophecy."
Amberdawn didn't speak, she just waited for her former mentor to continue. Sealeaf finally broke the silence.
"Only light will come from the broken."
"What does it mean?" She asked her old mentor, "Who is broken?"
"We cannot say," Sealeaf answered, a great sadness filled her green eyes as she stared at Amberdawn. "I'm sorry."
Amberdawn only nodded, restraining herself from saying something else.
"We will help where we can." Sealeaf meowed as she began to fade.
Amberdawn rushed to touch her mentor's fur once more but she was too late.
Sealeaf was gone.
Suddenly her surroundings started to fade to black, the feel of the grass on her paws became cold and distant. The sounds of animals died, and the nice, cool breeze froze to the coldest winds.
They blew Amberdawn so hard that she was knocked off her paws, her thick fur billowing in the gale. The chill seemed to sink into her flesh, going all the way to her bones. The she-cat, then, saw a small pinprick of light a few fox-lengths away.
Stumbling, Amberdawn entered the ring of light that surrounded the ball, instantly the wind died and a warmth entered her body. The medicine cat looked down at the ball of light, prodding it with her paw.
The ball moved with a startled mew, revealing that it was just an extremely small kit. Amberdawn stared at it, the light that surrounded it was too bright to allow her any form of detail other than the size.
Amberdawn leaned down to look at the kit more closely but the light around it exploded. The light pushed away the darkness with blinding force and soon, all was aglow.
The she-cat gasped as a full grown cat melted away from the light. No longer a kit, the cat glowed in a golden light, it's eyes like those of a twoleg's monster.
The cat was slender, it's fur looked soft. The cat was about Amberdawn's size, only the other cat looked a lot less delicate than Amberdawn.
The cat walked passed Amberdawn as though she wasn't even there and continued on, as the cat passed everything darkened and, when it was gone, everything was as black as a starless night.
"Come back!" The medicine cat yowled after the glowing cat. Her amber eyes searching for any kind of light.
Then everything came back, the grass, the noises, and the moon, glowing brightly above her head.
Amberdawn was in the middle of a small clearing, the smell of ThunderClan was strong around her. That told the medicine cat that she hadn't wandered far from their camp.
She stood up and began to weave past the ferns and trees, towards her home. Her head kept whirling back to the glowing cat and the prophecy tied to it.
Who are you?
