Spark's Grief - Epilogue
Grief sighed resentfully. Spark had died after all.
"Come on, Grief. We have to go." Courage mewed quietly.
"I don't want to leave her." Grief growled stubbornly.
"Grief," Courage tried. "We have to go to the Annual Meeting."
"I don't care." Grief flared back. "Go without me."
The Annual Meeting was very basic. It was a meeting between all six of the spiritual beings. They would give updates about their cat that Truth had chosen and would be assigned another one.
"Come on, they're waiting for us." Courage nudged her.
"I don't want a new cat."
Courage touched Grief's paw with his own and looked into her eyes. "Grief."
"Fine!" Grief shook him off. "Let's go then."
Courage led her towards the oak hollow. Every year, they met here. Immediately, she felt the wrath of Truth come over her. Shivering, she looked up towards the huge white tom.
"Truth," Grief muttered.
"Welcome. You are late." Truth boomed.
"I don't care."
"What she means, sir," Courage rolled his eyes. "Is that we're sorry."
Truth let out a deep purr. "Very well. Anger, report."
Sitting on a log, a red tom with a bushy tail and amber eyes stood up. "You already know. Demonclaw has died from the stress. But yes, I managed to make him fairly angry. Grief, you should know that."
Grief unsheathed her claws, digging them into the ground.
"Good. Courage, report." Truth commanded.
"Salem has improved drastically since I joined her body." Courage puffed out his chest.
"Have you blessed anyone else?" Truth hissed.
"No, sir." Courage said confidently.
"You lie. Tell the Truth!"
"Fine, sir. I have blessed Spark. If I didn't, she would have died at the wrong time." Courage growled.
"Joy, report." Truth mewed lazily.
A yellow she-cat stood up, her yellow eyes casting beams of joy across the hollow. "I have succeeded, sir. Amberclaw is very happy with her life."
"Good. Fear, you next."
Grief shivered as the black tom started to speak.
"Duskpelt is trapped in a sphere of eternal paranoia."
"Grief." Truth turned his blue eyes on her. "Go."
"You all know! Why should I say it?" She snapped. "But if you must, Spark is dead!"
"Love, report."
The albino she-cat shook out her fur quickly. "I have failed."
"I have sensed it." Truth snarled. "Very well. An innocent cat shall be doomed now. Love, you must match Ebonywind with a cat as dark as the shadows."
A/N
To you all who have read or started the novels "Alone", you shall know what this cliffhanger means...muahahaha. Maybe a little spoiler for the rest of Alone.
This little "prophecy" is simple, hence the spoiler.
But yes! Spark's Grief is finished and wow this is probably one of my favourite warrior cats fanfics that I have written. I really liked the idea of having Grief stuck in her chest and how she wanted to get rid of her and how Grief hated it there at the beginning, then got super attached.
The next novella in Beyond the Clans is Autumn's Promise, which is about...drumroll...
Spark's kit, Autumn. Wow. So hard to guess. It picks up where we left off in Chapter 10 just through Autumn's POV, and yes, the months/ages are a little off but I think it's okay.
I hope you enjoyed Spark's Grief!
